Chapter 21: Process Established, Repair Work Begins Immediately!
Upon seeing the message left by Jiang Liangliang, Wang Yang turned to look at the document on his computer screen.
He had already sorted out the majority of the preliminary restoration procedures and established a relatively detailed workflow. From this point on, he could proceed with the repairs while simultaneously refining the entire process.
With this in mind, he immediately saved the file, grabbed his coat, and headed toward the company. Securing the loan was the most critical priority; only with those funds could he purchase the necessary equipment through the system, and only with the equipment could the actual restoration begin.
Wang Yang drove to the company with haste. Upon his arrival, Jiang Liangliang, who had been waiting for some time, immediately stepped forward. "Brother Yang, all the loan funds have arrived. It's 100.8 million in total. Please take a look."
She handed him the compiled data. Wang Yang barely glanced at it before handing it back. He had already calculated the loan-related figures beforehand and was confident in his mental tally; as long as the amount was correct, there would be no issues.
"Alright, you can head back now. I need to handle some matters, so please don't disturb me unless it's urgent," Wang Yang said.
Jiang Liangliang didn't press further. After a quick "Understood," she exited the office and thoughtfully closed the door behind her.
Settling into his comfortable chair, Wang Yang closed his eyes and communicated with the system through his consciousness: "System, I need to purchase the instruments and materials required for repairing the fighter jets."
System: [Acknowledged, Host. Searching for the required instruments and consumables now. Please wait patiently.]
Before long, the ethereal voice of the system sounded again.
System: [Per the system's search, to repair the F-22 fighter jets, the required propulsion components are: engine propulsion parts, power unit systems, aircraft functional systems, avionics and weaponry, pneumatic flight control...]
[Required instruments: 2D vector propulsion assembly device, latest generation digital electronic control system, twin-rotor low-bypass turbofan test unit...]
[Required materials: titanium alloy, aluminum alloy, new composite materials, polymer nano-composite materials...]
[System detection indicates that the total cost for the required instruments and materials is 88.9 million. Shall I process this through the company account, Host?]
Hearing the system’s quote, the corner of Wang Yang's mouth twitched, and his expression turned somewhat peculiar. He had originally estimated that these materials would cost around 60 to 70 million, leaving the remainder to cover monthly loan repayments.
As long as he could persevere until the two F-22 jets were fully restored, he could sell them and recoup all the initial losses, while also securing an excess profit. Now, he realized his initial estimates were a bit conservative. Between the cost to the system and the subsequent wear-and-tear and overhead during the restoration process, the initial investment for these two F-22s would likely exceed 100 million.
If he were to truly honor the promise of fivefold returns to Liang Yuzhu, the sale price for the two F-22s would need to reach at least 600 million. However, considering they would effectively be brand-new F-22s, achieving that price didn't seem entirely impossible.
Just then, the system’s voice returned.
System: [Please rest assured, Host. All the required materials already account for potential waste and various fees. With an expenditure of 88.9 million, you will definitely be able to complete the restoration of both F-22 fighter jets.]
Hearing this, Wang Yang breathed a sigh of relief, feeling much more at ease.
"That's good. Process it through the company account, but make sure the ledger doesn't raise any suspicion," Wang Yang instructed.
System: [Please rest assured, Host. This system will not allow such an obvious bug to exist.]
Wang Yang opened his eyes with confidence, quickly opened his document, and used the company computer to continue fleshing out the overall F-22 restoration process.
The day passed in a blur. After work, Wang Yang returned home, had dinner, and continued refining the restoration procedures. He worked until 2:00 AM, finishing the documentation for the third phase before finally collapsing into bed.
The next morning, he was awakened by a call from Jiang Liangliang.
"Brother Yang! The company account is suddenly short by 88.9 million!" Jiang Liangliang’s slightly shrill voice, like a loud rooster crowing before dawn, instantly jolted Wang Yang out of bed.
After a moment of confusion, he regained his composure. "Is that all? You scared me. I used that money to purchase various instruments and materials."
"Oh..." Jiang Liangliang’s voice softened immediately. "Well, you could have at least given me a heads-up. When finance handed me the receipts this morning, I thought we’d been robbed."
"You're making a mountain out of a molehill. Don't dally; keep an eye on your phone these next few days. If all goes well, the equipment will arrive shortly. You are responsible for having it moved into the warehouse," Wang Yang directed, before hanging up.
He dragged himself out of bed, groggy, and headed to the bathroom to wash up. While he was brushing his teeth, a call from Liang Yuzhu came through.
"Wang Yang, I heard from the finance department that you authorized an expenditure of 88.9 million. Is that for the equipment?" Liang Yuzhu’s voice was as gentle and soft as ever.
Wang Yang nodded. "Yes, those instruments and materials are essential for the F-22 restoration."
"Oh... is that enough?" Liang Yuzhu asked timidly.
Wang Yang explained patiently, "Don't worry, Ms. Liang. We only need to purchase these materials once, and the pricing is quite favorable."
Looking across the entire world, one would be hard-pressed to find a more comprehensive source for equipment and materials than the system. After all, some of these items couldn't be bought with money alone; for the specialized instruments found in certain research institutes, nations often had to intervene, negotiate with manufacturers over long periods, and exert significant effort to procure them. Wang Yang, however, had the system, so he had no such concerns.
"That’s good then..." Liang Yuzhu sighed in relief.
After hanging up and finishing his morning routine, Wang Yang stretched comfortably and returned to his computer, beginning the work on the final phase of the restoration process.
Over the next three days, Wang Yang barely left his house, save for meals and bathroom breaks, as he buried himself in organizing the relevant data.
Today, as Wang Yang tapped the final character on his keyboard, he lifted his slightly trembling hands away. Looking at the dense, exhaustive document on the screen, he let out a long, relieved sigh.
Finally, it was done.
*Ring, ring.*
At that moment, his phone screen lit up. It was a call from Jiang Liangliang.
Wang Yang answered quickly, holding it to his ear. "What is it?"
"Brother Yang, all the equipment and materials you mentioned have been placed in the warehouse. Would you like to come and take inventory?" asked Jiang Liangliang from the other end.
