Chapter 27: Yang’s Final Live Broadcast?

Meanwhile.
Capital City, Fuli Huating Residential Community, Subway Entrance No. 5.
Chang Wen stood on the escalator, dragging his somewhat weary body along. One hand gripped the railing while the other held his phone. On the screen was the absurd piece of news that had inexplicably shot to the top of the trending searches: after half a year, Wang Yang was going to start livestreaming again.
To be honest, the news had come as quite a surprise to him. After all, nearly half a year had passed since Wang Yang announced that he intended to start buying fighter jets. If Wang Yang had not occasionally posted on Weibo during that time to keep the buzz alive, people would probably have forgotten him entirely by now.
The matter should have been over and done with. At most, people might bring it up to criticize him the next time he livestreamed.
Chang Wen genuinely could not understand why Wang Yang insisted on doing this, going so far as to boldly declare that he would be selling an F-22 fighter jet during tomorrow night’s livestream. He truly could not make sense of Wang Yang’s logic.
Something that could clearly have been reduced from a major incident to a minor one, or even quietly put to rest, had somehow been made known to everyone by Wang Yang.
He was afraid that once the livestream began tomorrow night and everyone flooded into the room, they would discover that there was no F-22—or that, even if one appeared, people would realize it was fake. If that happened, Wang Yang would suffer a spectacular public collapse.
By then, no matter how capable Wang Yang was, he could forget about making a living in the livestream commerce industry.
He really could not understand it.
This Wang Yang was quite an interesting character.
Forget it. If he got off work early tomorrow, he would drop by Wang Yang’s livestream and take a look.
With that thought, Chang Wen stepped off the escalator and walked toward the residential compound.
……
The next day, at the company.
Wang Yang wore a crisp, perfectly tailored suit. His entire appearance was neat and sharp, making him look even more handsome.
“Brother Yang, you’re livestreaming tonight?” Jiang Liangliang asked in surprise the moment she saw him arrive.
She had seen the news the night before, but when she sent Brother Yang a message, he had never replied.
“Yes, tonight. I came to the company today for this very reason.” Wang Yang nodded, then continued, “Have everyone work overtime tonight. Bring all the equipment with us and follow me to the warehouse to prepare for the livestream.”
Jiang Liangliang froze. “We’re livestreaming from the warehouse?”
“Obviously. Were you planning to have me drive the fighter jet to the company?” Wang Yang rolled his eyes.
Jiang Liangliang smiled sheepishly. “That’s true. Even if you did bring it over, there wouldn’t be anywhere to park it…”

“Brother Yang, I’ll notify everyone right away. I’ll try to gather the whole team in the shortest possible time!”
Jiang Liangliang dashed off like a streak of smoke.
For nearly half a year, the company had had no livestreaming assignments. As a result, the employees who had remained had either gone out to take private jobs or switched to other companies. Most of them had already left.
Reassembling the team now was not impossible, but it would take time.
After all, Wang Yang had never treated any of them unfairly. Whether in terms of salary or benefits, the company had offered conditions other businesses could not match.
Therefore, as long as Wang Yang asked them to return for a livestream, most of them would come back.
Wang Yang was in no hurry. He sat in his office chair and closed his eyes to rest.
The livestream was scheduled for eight that evening, but strictly speaking, preparations had to begin immediately. The lighting, set arrangement, and various production controls all had to be prepared in advance.
Most importantly, Wang Yang was considering every situation that might arise during the livestream.
Those haters were like ghosts that refused to disperse. He had seen all the comments on Weibo, yet he had never bothered to refute a single one. He wanted to slap every one of those haters in the face during tonight’s livestream.
He wanted them to shut up once and for all, and he also wanted the genuine buyers to actually purchase these two F-22 fighter jets.
After all, the interest on the loans was quite high. The sooner they repaid the money, the sooner Young Miss Liang could relax. Otherwise, she might not even be able to sleep properly.
“Brother Yang, most people are ready, and everything here at the company has been prepared too. We can leave now.” Jiang Liangliang pushed open the office door and spoke with a radiant smile.
Only then did Wang Yang open his eyes. He straightened his immaculate suit and nodded.
“Then let’s go. We’ll build up some momentum in advance.”
……
That evening, at 7:30.
Inside the warehouse, the cameramen, lighting technicians, colorists, production staff, and even the employees who had delivered boxed meals all stared blankly at the two F-22 fighter jets parked there.
They had indeed known that Brother Yang’s livestream tonight would use the sale of F-22 fighter jets as its gimmick.
But they had assumed it was merely a gimmick intended to fool the viewers. At most, they had expected some holographic projection or special effects—enough to deceive the haters and nothing more.
What they had never expected was for Brother Yang to be serious. He had actually obtained two F-22 fighter-jet models, and they were enormous!
It was simply unbelievable.
But getting them to believe that these two F-22s were not models, but genuine fighter jets capable of taking to the sky, would have been impossible even if they were beaten to death.

How could that be possible?
Could real F-22 fighter jets actually be parked here?
If these two F-22s were genuine, national security personnel would storm in the very next second and shut down their livestream.
These two F-22s had to be exhibition-grade models at the very least. They certainly could not have been cheap!
No wonder there had been rumors that Brother Yang had taken General Manager Liang to apply for a loan. So this was where all the money had gone.
“Damn, Brother Yang really is incredible!”
Wang Yang rolled his eyes. “Enough with the praise. Get to work. The livestream is about to begin. Remember what I told you: no one is allowed to say a word, no one is to go up and touch the fighter jets, and no one is to appear on camera!”
“Don’t worry, Brother Yang.”
“We definitely won’t disturb you, Brother Yang.”
……
Livestream screen.
There were still twenty minutes before the livestream began, but more than nine hundred thousand viewers had already gathered in the room, and the number continued to rise. The closer it got to the starting time, the faster the audience grew.
[Why is there still so much time left? Can’t Brother Yang start early? I can’t wait any longer!]
[Oh, you really want to see your Brother Yang make a fool of himself that badly? Once the livestream starts, you’ll see how he fools all of you.]
[Exactly! Selling fighter jets through a livestream? What a load of nonsense. If he can really get a fighter jet, I’ll eat my computer screen—live! I mean it.]
[Write that down, write that down! Don’t let this guy escape.]
[Good grief, we’ve finally made it to the livestream that’s been anticipated for half a year. If the stream starts and we don’t see an F-22, things are really going to explode.]
[Exactly. Brother Yang said before that he had already secured an F-22. If he doesn’t produce one this time, he won’t be able to explain himself.]
[Wait a minute. Could this be Brother Yang’s final livestream? Damn, it might actually be possible. There’s no way he can bring down the price of an F-22 anyway. He could simply play the sympathy card, sell some goods to make a final fortune, and then disappear, right?]
