Chapter 6: Keep Going, Wang Yang!
Liang Yuzhu sat on the sofa, pursing her lips. “About what you said—using thirty million to purchase goods in the United States.” She paused briefly, then cautiously asked, “I want to know, what exactly are you planning to buy?”
Wang Yang handed her a glass of water. “Because this shipment is rather special, I can’t tell you in advance. If the news leaks out, it could jeopardize the whole deal.”
Of course, that was nonsense.
The real reason was that he feared the young wealthy lady would lose trust in him if she knew he was buying just empty F-22 shells.
“Oh…” Liang Yuzhu took a tactical sip of water and set the glass down. Nervously, she asked, “So, will this make a profit?”
“Of course it will. If it didn’t, why would I invest so much?” Wang Yang smiled.
He knew exactly what she was worried about, so he said, “I understand you’re concerned I might run off with the money. You can track my movements the entire time. I’ll turn on the GPS on my phone. You can check my status anytime through the tracking system. You can call me by voice or video whenever you want. If you notice anything suspicious, you can report it immediately…”
“No, no, no. Actually, I’m not worried about you running away,” Liang Yuzhu quickly shook her hands to deny it, as if afraid Wang Yang might misunderstand.
“I’m more concerned about how much we can make and how long it will take,” she asked seriously.
Wang Yang was momentarily stunned. The words caught in his throat but he swallowed them back. This young lady only cared about how much profit they’d make and not whether he’d flee? He could be certain her little head was probably empty.
After thinking for a moment, Wang Yang raised one hand fully open, showing five fingers.
“Five percent?” Liang Yuzhu asked, puzzled.
Wang Yang chuckled softly, helpless. “My dear young lady, do you think I’d go through all this trouble—giving up streaming and running off to the States to buy goods—just for a five percent profit? Guess again.”
“Then… fifty percent?” Liang Yuzhu’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Fifty percent of thirty million was fifteen million! That was roughly what she could make in a month of continuous streaming. If this deal succeeded, she could not only recover her initial investment but also pay off all her debts and still have 7.5 million left to live comfortably.
Wang Yang smiled again and shook his head. “Guess again.”
Liang Yuzhu hesitated, her delicate face blank with disbelief.
Fifty percent was the highest she dared to imagine. The number beyond that was terrifying—so terrifying she thought it was impossible.
Seeing her take so long without an answer, Wang Yang gave up and blurted out, “Based on my calculations, this deal will yield at least 500% profit.”
Liang Yuzhu trembled violently, her pupils dilated, and her mind went completely blank. She couldn’t think straight.
Five hundred percent of thirty million... that was one hundred and fifty million!
To be honest, she had only heard such a number in the news and had never seen it in reality, not even in her wildest dreams.
The number was so enormous that her little heart nearly couldn’t bear it.
“All preparations are done. Once we get the thirty million loan, combined with the company’s existing funds of over eight million, the upfront costs for this deal will be covered.”
“As for the timeline, it may be quite long—at least six months before we see returns,” Wang Yang estimated cautiously.
After all, the fighter jets they were buying were mostly just stripped shells. Even with repair blueprints from the system, fixing them wouldn’t be quick. Six months would already be considered fast.
But once restored and resold, the profits could be in the billions, or even tens of billions!
A single operable F-22 fighter jet costs about 150 million US dollars—equivalent to nearly one billion in local currency.
The 500% figure was just a rough estimate he threw out lightly, fearing Liang Yuzhu’s heart couldn’t take more.
“Really… can we make that much?” Liang Yuzhu looked at him in a daze, her eyes filled with astonishment.
Wang Yang nodded firmly. “Of course. Just like I told you a year ago, we’re finally starting to make money now. The profits have been small so far, but I’ve found this big money opportunity. Naturally, I want you involved.”
The fact that Liang Yuzhu had unconditionally transferred over ten million to his account a year ago showed her complete trust in him.
He could not betray that trust.
Business, after all, required integrity.
More importantly, his conscience had to be clear.
“So… when do we apply for the loan?” Liang Yuzhu clenched her fists, her resolve firm.
Wang Yang was surprised she was even more eager than he was. “We can do it this afternoon. The company’s documents and qualifications are all ready. Do you have your ID with you?”
“Yes, yes. Shall we go now?” Liang Yuzhu stood up and pulled out her ID card from her handbag.
Wang Yang nodded. “Alright, no time to waste, let’s go now.”
...
At six in the evening, Liang Yuzhu and Wang Yang emerged from the bank.
The loan process was extremely complicated, with many procedures. Even though Wang Yang had made prior arrangements, it still took several hours.
But both of them wore expressions full of excitement.
For Wang Yang, it meant the funds for buying the fighter jets would soon be in place, allowing him to take bold action.
For Liang Yuzhu, it meant the potential for a fivefold return in just six months.
Of course, even if the profit was only fifty percent, it would still be enough to make her ecstatic.
Before inheriting her fortune, she had been truly poor. Without scholarships earned through good grades, she might never have finished university.
Now, she had transformed into a company chairwoman with assets worth tens of millions, albeit with a thirty million debt. And in half a year, she might become a billionaire.
Just thinking about it made her tremble with excitement.
“Wang Yang, about this deal… we don’t have to aim for five times profit. To reduce risk, a smaller profit is fine,” Liang Yuzhu said timidly, her tone gentle and without any boss-like airs. She hurriedly added, “Of course, you’re in charge—I’m just saying.”
Wang Yang knew this “chairwoman’s” nature well and nodded. “Don’t worry, I’ll prioritize recovering the principal. I won’t take reckless risks. We’ll proceed steadily.”
Though he said this, his mind was elsewhere.
With this arms deal, he couldn’t afford to be cautious; they had to move fast, fast enough to prevent others interested in the fighter jet shells from stepping in.
Playing it safe would only mean losing the opportunity. Only by taking bold risks could they reap the greatest profits.
As he finished speaking, Liang Yuzhu grabbed his hand firmly and said solemnly, “Wang Yang, this time… it’s all on you. It must succeed. It cannot fail.”
Wang Yang looked into the school beauty’s eyes, seeing tears glistening and her gaze trembling. He nodded heavily, “Leave it to me. I won’t let you down.”
