Chapter 27: Qin Lianyi
The people inside the room, upon catching Song Hongfeng’s gaze, quickly vacated the conference room.
Shortly after, having listened to Bo Xingjue, Song Hongfeng swiftly checked the coordinates, his face filled with shock. "There is really a uranium deposit here? And it’s accurate to nine hundred and fifty meters underground?"
"Our machines previously advanced to a depth of nine hundred meters before stopping for various reasons. Not long after, the land was auctioned off under the guise of developing a tourist attraction. If there is truly a uranium deposit there..."
Bo Xingjue’s eyes turned razor-sharp in an instant. "Then those who were jumping up and down, demanding the work be halted, might be involved in something suspicious."
Song Hongfeng quickly made several phone calls. After hanging up, he said excitedly, "The machines are still there. With a distance of only fifty meters left, our current equipment can push through in a single day. We will have our answer very soon."
Bo Xingjue felt relieved. With Song Hongfeng personally intervening, no one would dare stand in his way.
Thinking of the frustration he had endured earlier, Song Hongfeng gave a sinister smile. "In such a vast and mighty nation, what do we lack? They dared to open their mouths like lions, asking for an exorbitant price. Once we confirm this in a few days, we won’t buy from them at all. That will infuriate them, haha..."
Bo Xingjue: "..."
...
Bo Xingjue kept his word about finding a tutor for Yan Qingyu.
Thus, when Yan Ningxi arrived at the hospital room with a thermal lunch jar at noon, she found a stranger teaching Yan Qingyu. Both were so focused that they did not notice her arrival.
Yan Xiubai had just finished delivering a food order and, upon seeing his daughter, closed the door behind them and stepped into the hallway.
Yan Xiubai chuckled, "Ningxi, you really put a lot of thought into this. Your friend is a wonderful teacher. A person who has just finished the college entrance exam has an incredible store of knowledge. No matter what questions Qingyu asks, he answers them with ease."
Sun Shuzhen added, "He teaches very well. Qingyu understands everything the moment he explains it. Your friend said that with Qingyu’s current ability, even without attending school, if his health recovers in two years, he can still achieve excellent results in the college entrance exam."
Yan Ningxi sighed, "He really is impressive. Someone who gets into Huaxia University is no ordinary person."
Huaxia University? That was the best university in all of Huaxia. Yan Xiubai and Sun Shuzhen were instantly even more pleased with the young man. If he hadn't just graduated from high school, they would have been tempted to make him their son-in-law.
Yan Ningxi sent a WeChat message to Bo Xingjue: "Your brother-in-law’s younger brother has arrived. Actually, there was no need to rush so much."
Bo Xingjue replied quickly: "Your brother’s current health is stable; he can take this opportunity to study more."
Yan Ningxi understood his meaning: "Thank you very much."
Bo Xingjue: "I have also informed your hospital that Professor Yang Juhe is coming for a consultation. The hospital doctors are very welcoming, and the procedures are already finalized. We are just waiting for him to arrive on Saturday."
Yan Ningxi: "Thank you for the trouble. I will treat you to a meal when I have time."
She now had a few hundred thousand, so treating someone to a meal was manageable. Besides, it was a necessary social courtesy.
Bo Xingjue: "Good."
Hearing movement inside the room, the three of them quickly walked back in. As soon as they entered, they saw the young man packing his things. He suddenly locked eyes with Yan Ningxi. Upon seeing her face, he felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
Yan Ningxi stepped forward with poise and extended her hand. "Hello, I am Yan Ningxi. I will be troubling you with my brother for the next month."
Huaxia University would start in September.
The young man snapped out of his daze, shook her hand, and looked slightly excited. "Hello, I am Qin Lianyi. You are the one who saved my sister-in-law and niece, right?"
Yan Ningxi withdrew her hand and said softly, "It was a small matter, not worth mentioning."
Qin Lianyi had an outgoing personality and insisted, "That is not a small matter. You don't know—my brother and sister-in-law were married for many years without children. They both thought it was their own fault, and my sister-in-law even suggested divorce. Later, they conceived through IVF."
"But the IVF failed several times, and it wasn't until five years ago that they finally had Lin'er."
"As you can imagine, Lin'er is the apple of our family’s eye. If something had happened to her, my brother and sister-in-law would have suffered for the rest of their lives."
So there was such a story behind it. Yan Ningxi said seriously, "Meeting that day was fate. You don't need to take it to heart; you are helping my brother now."
Qin Lianyi nodded solemnly: "Don't worry. As long as Qingyu follows my plan, I guarantee he can get into Huaxia University. By then, he can be my junior."
Sun Shuzhen looked at Qin Lianyi with even greater affection. Since he was so sincere, Yan Ningxi felt she had to show her appreciation and offered to take him to lunch. However, Qin Lianyi declined, saying someone had already invited him, and suggested they meet another time. Yan Ningxi did not press the matter.
Yan Xiubai personally walked him to the elevator.
After lunch, Yan Ningxi told her parents that Professor Yang Juhe would personally come to provide treatment guidance for her brother and would conduct the future surgeries himself.
Yan Xiubai and Sun Shuzhen were absolutely delighted. Since Yan Qingyu was diagnosed with leukemia, they had searched for a lot of information online and were well aware of Professor Yang Juhe’s status in the Huaxia medical field.
Sun Shuzhen said excitedly, "Really? How did you manage to invite him?"
Yan Ningxi smiled and said, "It’s like this: I saved a child that day, and that child... anyway, that’s how it happened. It’s a case of a good deed being rewarded."
She did not mention that Lin'er had been kidnapped, only saying the child was in grave danger.
Yan Xiubai sighed, "This is truly wonderful." He then looked at his son, "Qingyu, you must be obedient and follow the treatment. With Professor Yang involved, your illness can be cured one hundred percent. You must have confidence in yourself."
Yan Qingyu was stunned. "One hundred percent? Is he really that amazing? Isn't that an exaggeration?"
Yan Ningxi nodded. "It's true. You can search for his credentials online when you have time; he is worthy of his reputation."
"No need, I believe in my sister."
...
Early the next morning, as soon as Yan Ningxi arrived at the company, she saw a large crowd gathered at the front desk. Before she could even approach, she heard a woman shouting and making a scene.
"Yu Xiangrui, you have some nerve! How dare you send your own husband to prison? You’ve really gone too far."
"How can you people let a person like this be your superior? Aren't you afraid of being corrupted by her?"
"Yu Xiangrui, come with me right now and explain to the police that what happened between you and your husband yesterday was a misunderstanding. Otherwise, I’m not leaving. I’ll make sure your entire company can’t get any work done."
The onlookers, upon hearing this, all turned their gazes toward Yu Xiangrui.
