Upon being brought to the enforcement squad headquarters, Chen Xuewen and his three companions were immediately handcuffed to the railings. They were then separated and taken away one by one to provide statements and be questioned about the incident.

Monkey Lai crouched on the floor, looking listless as he sighed, "Man, we're in real trouble this time."

"I haven't even been out for six months yet. If I get convicted again, they're definitely going to hit me with a heavier sentence!"

Chen Xuewen looked at him in surprise. "You were just released?"

"What did you do before this?"

Monkey Lai shrugged. "It was nothing... I just took a few cases of booze and some cartons of cigarettes that the owners weren't drinking. It wasn't a big deal."

Chen Xuewen paused, rendered speechless. Damn it, this guy made it sound so trivial, as if he were the one who had been deeply wronged. But thinking about it for a second—that’s just plain theft!

Chen Xuewen patted Monkey Lai on the shoulder. "Don't worry, brother. This time, I’ll make sure you come out of this unscathed."

Monkey Lai curled his lip. "Let's talk about that once we're actually out."

"If you really have the ability to get me out of here, I'll acknowledge you as my boss from now on. I'll do whatever you say!"

Chen Xuewen let out a laugh and said nothing more.

Not long after, Li Eryong and Li Tiezhu were brought out. The enforcement squad captain approached, preparing to take Chen Xuewen and Monkey Lai in for questioning.

Just then, a man in a crisp suit walked in. He approached the captain and smiled, "Captain Wang, long time no see."

Captain Wang frowned. "Lawyer He!? What are you doing here?"

Lawyer He smiled back. "I am Mr. Chen Xuewen’s legal representative."

In the room, Monkey Lai was stunned. He looked at Chen Xuewen and asked, "You hired a lawyer?"

Chen Xuewen offered a faint smile but remained silent. He knew this must have been arranged by Master Hou.

Captain Wang was annoyed. "So what if you're a lawyer? Chen Xuewen committed serious assault, and we have both witnesses and physical evidence. What do you think you're doing here?"

"If you want to provide a defense, that's a matter for when we go to court!"

Lawyer He chuckled softly. "Captain Wang, I think you may have misunderstood some things."

"First of all, my client is the plaintiff, not the defendant."

"He is the one who called the police, and he is the victim!"

Captain Wang snapped, "What did you say? He hasn't got a single scratch on him, and you have the nerve to call him a victim? Do you have any idea how badly the other party was injured?"

Lawyer He’s expression remained indifferent. He said slowly, "Captain Wang, I think you might need to brush up on your law."

"Whether one is a victim has no correlation with the severity of the injuries sustained."

"Strictly speaking, my client was acting in self-defense."

As he spoke, he looked toward Old Hei and his group, declaring in a clear voice, "Most of these men have criminal records. I believe the enforcement squad should already have those on file."
