Chapter 50: Wrecking the Joint
Electronic Dynasty.
Just as Viper arrived at the scene, Leopard was in the middle of reporting the revenue figures to him.
Suddenly, the sound of firecrackers echoed from outside.
Viper frowned slightly. "What's going on? Is someone opening a new business today?"
Leopard glanced outside and said, "It seems a new arcade is opening. I've already sent Ke and his men to deal with it!"
"Boss, you can rest assured."
"With me here, no other arcade will ever open around the Old Square!"
Viper nodded with satisfaction. "Good. I trust your work."
Leopard grinned and continued his report.
However, before he could go on for long, a commotion of hurried footsteps and miserable cries suddenly drifted in from outside: "Brother Leopard! Brother Leopard, something's happened!"
Leopard’s expression shifted instantly. His boss had just praised him, and now trouble arises? Where was he supposed to put his face?
He quickly stood up and cursed furiously, "Damn it, what are you making such a racket for?"
"What happened?"
The first to rush in was one of Leopard's underlings, who panted in a panic, "Brother Leopard, Ke... Ke has been stabbed..."
Leopard’s expression changed drastically. He lunged forward to grab the lackey by the collar. "What did you say?"
"Say that again!"
At this moment, several men outside had already carried the blood-soaked Ke into the room.
Upon seeing Ke's condition, Leopard felt his eyes split with rage. He bellowed, "Who the hell did this?"
"Damn it, I'll wipe out his entire family!"
The underling hurriedly recounted the events that had just taken place.
After listening, Leopard flew into a fury. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"You're telling me none of you saw who did it?"
"Damn it, you bunch of trash! Were you raised on shit?"
The lacklings all hung their heads in defeat, not daring to utter a word.
At this moment, Viper walked out from the back room.
He glanced at Ke’s wounds, his expression turning icy. "The assailant didn't pull any punches."
"Had the blade gone just a few inches higher, Ke would have lost his life right there on the spot!"
Leopard grew even more furious. "Boss, Ke is one of your men."
"Damn it, for them to injure him like this is a blatant slap in your face!"
"Boss, just say the word. What should we do?"
Viper sneered coldly. "Is this your first day following me?"
"Do you really need to ask me what to do with people who cross us?"
Leopard caught the implication immediately and gritted his teeth. "This matter definitely has something to do with the people at that new arcade!"
"Someone, take my brother to the hospital first."
"Everyone else, round up the boys and follow me to smash that arcade to pieces!"
The underlings immediately rushed out to rally the men.
Before long, Leopard had gathered over twenty people, marching aggressively and menacingly toward Chen Xuewen’s arcade.
Viper paid the matter no mind. In his eyes, this was nothing more than children throwing a tantrum; he couldn't even be bothered to get involved.
...
Over at Chen Xuewen's arcade.
As Laihou and the others scattered a genuine five thousand yuan worth of loose change, it immediately drew in quite a crowd of customers.
However, the patrons who came in to play primarily stuck to the regular arcade cabinets near the entrance.
As for the slot machines in the back room, not a single person ventured inside.
This was entirely expected; very few people would dare to play slot machines in an unfamiliar establishment.
Especially for a newly opened parlor, attracting players was quite a challenging endeavor.
Furthermore, the people gambling in this neighborhood were more or less well-aware of how things worked around the Old Square.
