After Chen Hao had thoroughly taught Lin Muhua and Zou Guanchang a lesson, he immediately returned to Lizhi’s side.

“Let’s go!”

Chen Hao gathered up the bags and packages scattered across the ground, then hurried away from the scene with Lizhi.

There had been hardly any pedestrians or vehicles on the road just then. That was why Chen Hao had dared to give Lin Muhua and Zou Guanchang such a harsh lesson.

Still, to avoid bringing trouble upon himself, he had left the scene with Lizhi immediately afterward and returned to the place where he was currently staying.

“That felt so good!” Lizhi exclaimed excitedly between breaths once they had run back.

She was drenched in sweat from running so hard, so she temporarily changed into Chen Hao’s clothes.

“I don’t have any spare clothes here. I’ll wear yours for now!”

Lizhi said this to Chen Hao, who was tidying up in the living room.

“No problem! My clothes actually fit you pretty well. From now on, we can buy some more gender-neutral clothes and share them!”

Chen Hao smiled at her.

“Who said I’d share clothes with you?”

Lizhi rolled her eyes at him, then headed outside.

“Where are you going?” Chen Hao asked hurriedly.

“I’m going home for a while,” Lizhi replied.

“Do you want me to take you home? I’m worried those two men may still be there.”

Chen Hao put down what he was doing and prepared to accompany her.

“No need. They should have left by now. Besides, my home isn’t very far from here.”

Lizhi smiled.

“All right, then.”

Chen Hao nodded.

By then, Lizhi had reached the entrance. She opened the door and had already stepped outside when Chen Hao suddenly called after her.

“Lizhi, are you coming back to sleep here tonight?”

“Guess.”

Lizhi turned around and gave him a mysterious smile.

“I guess you are.”

Chen Hao answered without hesitation.

“In your dreams!”

With that, Lizhi closed the door and left.

Watching the closed door, Chen Hao smiled and shook his head slightly.

He then continued sorting through the things he had bought that day.

When he had finished, he took out a pen and several sheets of paper and began filling them with notes and sketches.

Although his memory was exceptionally powerful now, there was an old saying: even the best memory is no match for a poor pen.

He decided to record all his insights from trading stocks over the past few days, along with the relevant market data.

From those insights and figures, he intended to identify certain patterns and determine which stocks he should buy at rock-bottom prices at the end of June—and which of them would yield the highest returns.

Once he became absorbed in his work, he devoted all his attention to it.

So completely focused was he that he did not seem to notice when Lizhi unlocked the door and entered the house dragging a suitcase behind her.

Lizhi saw Chen Hao engrossed in writing and drawing on several sheets of paper.

She did not disturb him. Instead, she quietly set her suitcase aside, gently closed the door, and tiptoed over to stand behind him, silently watching him work.

The sight of Chen Hao working so seriously was genuinely captivating.

No one knew how much time had passed before Chen Hao suddenly stopped writing and said, “Isn’t it tiring standing behind me? Why don’t you bring over a chair and sit beside me?”

“Huh? You knew I was behind you?”

Lizhi was startled.

“I heard you the moment you came in.”

Chen Hao smiled faintly.

Ever since his rebirth, he had discovered that all five of his senses—hearing, smell, sight, and the rest—had become extraordinarily acute.

The moment Lizhi had unlocked the door, he had heard it.

When Lizhi had quietly come to stand behind him, he had also caught the distinctive fragrance of her body.

But he had been completely absorbed in his research.

Even though he knew she was standing behind him, he had not allowed himself to be distracted. He had simply continued with his work until he reached a temporary stopping point, only then speaking to her.

“I thought you were so focused on your work that you hadn’t heard me come in.”

Lizhi smiled.

“I’m always alert to everything around me.”

Chen Hao grinned.

After a pause, his gaze fell on Lizhi’s suitcase. Looking puzzled, he asked, “Why did you bring a suitcase here?”

“I’m planning to move in.”

Lizhi answered.

“You’re moving in here?”

Chen Hao looked delighted.

“Don’t get the wrong idea. There are plenty of empty rooms here, so I decided to move in. Don’t start imagining anything else.”

A sly glint flashed through Lizhi’s eyes.

“Heh. I think you’re the one who misunderstood. I’m worried that if you face me every day, you won’t be able to control yourself.”

Chen Hao chuckled.

“A horse that can’t see how long its own face is! You’re far too conceited!”

As she spoke, Lizhi dragged her suitcase into one of the vacant bedrooms.

She unpacked her belongings one by one and arranged them around the room.

Chen Hao smiled and returned to his work.

A short while later, after Lizhi had finished putting everything away, she left the bedroom and went into the kitchen. Like a devoted wife and mother, she began preparing lunch without a sound…
