Chapter 31: Li Zhi Wants to Know the Locations of the Numbing Points
Chen Hao struck with lightning speed and pinpoint accuracy, hitting the pressure points that induce numbness on Producer Feng and the three burly men he had brought along. This was enough to leave them in agony for quite some time, yet it would leave no external or internal injuries on their bodies. As Chen Hao currently lacked a legal status in Hong Kong, he did not want to invite any unnecessary trouble upon himself. After giving them a sound thrashing, he immediately took Nina Li and left the scene.
Soon, the two of them returned to their residence. In truth, Nina had already asked her father to help Chen Hao secure legal residency, but unfortunately, her father's influence was limited, and he had yet to succeed.
"Chen Hao, thank you for stepping in to help me earlier!" Nina looked at him with gratitude.
"Why are you being so formal with me?" Chen Hao smiled faintly. "Isn't it only right that I step in to help you?"
Hearing this, Nina felt a wave of sweetness wash over her heart, and she threw herself into his arms.
"By the way, you beat up Producer Feng and his men. Will they call the police? If they do, and given that you don't have legal status here in Hong Kong, then..." Nina looked up, her exquisite face filled with concern.
"Don't worry," Chen Hao reassured her. "I specifically targeted their pressure points to induce numbness; it won't leave any physical injuries. Besides, they were the ones who tried to force you away, which is a crime in itself. They won't dare to go to the police."
"Hmm, that's true," Nina sighed. "Chen Hao, I'm really sorry. I promised you I would help you get your legal status in Hong Kong, but I haven't been able to make it happen..."
"It doesn't matter," Chen Hao replied. "Money makes the world go round. Once we earn enough, we'll find a way to get your legal residency sorted." Chen Hao wasn't overly worried about his status. In these times, as long as one had enough money to grease the right palms, obtaining legal status in Hong Kong shouldn't be a problem.
However, that was not an urgent matter. The priority was to make more money in the Hong Kong stock market and prepare for a major "all-in" move.
"By the way, you told Producer Feng that you were preparing to terminate your contract. How is your evidence collection coming along? Isn't it disadvantageous to show your hand so early?" Chen Hao asked, concerned.
Following his advice, Nina had decided to terminate her contract with Cinema City. She intended to sue Chow Yun-fat and the *Tiger on the Beat* production crew, alleging that they had used the filming as a pretext to intentionally cause her physical harm, and she was demanding compensation for medical expenses and emotional distress. If she succeeded, she would not only avoid paying the breach-of-contract fee to Cinema City, but she would also walk away with a settlement from the crew.
"Actually, when Chow Yun-fat hit me for real under the guise of filming, there wasn't much physical evidence left," Nina explained. "It mainly relies on witness testimony, but the potential witnesses are mostly crew members. Getting them to testify against the production is nearly impossible. However, the crew recently fired a production assistant, and my lawyer has already found him. He has agreed to be my witness. Since the legal proceedings are already being set in motion, showing my hand now doesn't change much."
"That's good," Chen Hao smiled. "I hope you win this lawsuit. Then we'll save ourselves a million dollars."
"My lawyer says the chances aren't very high, though," Nina admitted. "We have very little evidence and few witnesses."
"That's fine too," Chen Hao replied with a laugh. "At the very least, the case could drag on for a year or two, delaying the payment of the penalty. By then, a mere million won't mean anything to us."
Nina felt a deep sense of gratitude. If not for Chen Hao, she would still be on the set of *Tiger on the Beat*, enduring the cold stares and discrimination of Chow Yun-fat and his circle. She would still be forced to swallow her pride while filming. Because of him, she had already earned much more than she ever did acting, and she no longer had to endure such treatment.
"Oh!" Nina suddenly exclaimed.
"What's wrong?" Chen Hao asked.
"With all the commotion earlier, I forgot to go to the market! I was planning to cook you something delicious tonight," she said.
"It's alright, isn't there still some food in the fridge? We can just make do with that," Chen Hao smiled.
"I suppose that's all we can do," Nina nodded. "You go rest in the bedroom, I'll go prepare dinner."
"I'll just rest here on the sofa," Chen Hao said, sitting down and closing his eyes to collect his thoughts.
Nina went to the kitchen to prepare their meal. Soon, dinner was ready. Chen Hao had only been resting with his eyes closed, not sleeping. After eating together, they went to the balcony to admire the night view and chat.
Half an hour later, once their meal had settled, they practiced the *Baduanjin* (Eight Brocades) exercises as they usually did. After finishing, they both felt refreshed and invigorated.
"By the way, Chen Hao," Nina asked with curiosity, "When you dealt with those men earlier, you mentioned targeting their pressure points. Could you teach me where they are?" She found his technique miraculous—a simple strike could leave an opponent paralyzed and devoid of any fighting strength. If she learned it, she would have a way to defend herself.
"Of course I can. Let me teach you now..." Chen Hao began to seriously instruct her on the locations of the pressure points.
