Chapter 34: The God of Stocks Personally Goes to Meet Chen Hao!
"Our boss is the Stock God of Hong Kong!" Zhang Guoliang announced, his tone filled with immense pride as he declared his employer's identity.
"The Stock God of Hong Kong?"
"Xiang Zhiqiu?"
Chen Hao, who had been focused on the fluctuating stock prices, shifted his gaze from the electronic display to Zhang Guoliang upon hearing this.
"That's right!" Zhang retorted arrogantly.
"I never imagined the owner of Xiang Sheng Securities would be the legendary Stock God, Xiang Zhiqiu!" Chen Hao remarked, feeling a brief moment of surprise. As someone who had been reborn, he was well aware of Xiang Zhiqiu’s fame in the financial world. It had been purely accidental that he chose this particular brokerage firm, never suspecting that the man behind it was the very same Stock God.
"The boss of Xiang Sheng Securities is the Stock God of Hong Kong?" Nina Li looked startled. "He must be incredibly brilliant then!"
"Of course he is!" Zhang continued. "He is a legend in the Hong Kong stock market! His trading skills are unparalleled."
Chen Hao merely smiled.
"Miss Li, now that you know who our boss is," Zhang said, turning to her with a haughty expression, "meeting him is an honor of a lifetime. Come with us."
"Chen Hao, should we go meet their boss?" Nina asked, looking toward him.
"This is a critical moment for trading; we don't have the time," Chen Hao replied, his eyes already back on the electronic screen, tracking the price movements with singular focus. To him, time was money. He would rather spend every spare second trading than waste it meeting some self-proclaimed "Stock God." He was racing against the clock, trying to squeeze as much profit as possible out of the Hong Kong market before the end of June, when he planned to use his accumulated capital for a massive bottom-fishing opportunity.
"I'm sorry, but we don't have time to see your boss," Nina informed He Songping and Zhang Guoliang.
"Kid, who do you think you are?" Zhang glared at Chen Hao, his face turning red with anger. "Our boss wants to see Miss Li, not you. What right do you have to make decisions for her?" He found it incomprehensible that this blind, arrogant youth would dare to refuse an audience with the legendary Xiang Zhiqiu.
"He is my man," Nina said, her beautiful face chilling as she stood up to defend Chen Hao against Zhang’s aggression. "His decision is my decision."
"You..." Zhang was speechless with rage. He hadn't expected Nina to defend Chen Hao so staunchly, and he felt a bitter pang of jealousy that such a stunning beauty was so devoted to him.
"Guoliang, calm down," He Songping whispered, pulling him aside. "Haven't you noticed? The person actually operating the securities account isn't Miss Li—it's him." He gestured toward Chen Hao.
"You're right, it does seem like he's the one doing the trading," Zhang realized.
"The person the boss wants to meet must be the real trader behind the account, not just the registered holder," He Songping reasoned. "We need to bring both of them to the boss."
Zhang remained silent, knowing He was right. "Just don't offend them again," He added. "If we can't bring them to the boss, he won't be pleased."
The two men approached the pair once more. "Sir," He Songping said, his tone markedly more polite. "Please excuse my friend’s earlier outburst. Our boss would truly like to meet you and Miss Li. We hope you can grant us this favor." He had realized that Nina followed Chen Hao’s lead in everything, and that Chen Hao was the one their boss really wanted to see. He had to be careful; if he offended Chen Hao and he refused to come, their boss would surely blame them for their incompetence.
"I've already said, we don't have time to meet your boss," Chen Hao replied, his attention never wavering from the flickering stock prices on the screen.
"You..." The hot-headed Zhang was furious at being ignored so completely, his hands itching to lunge at Chen Hao. But He Songping shook his head, forcing Zhang to swallow his frustration.
He Songping decided it was time to report the situation to the branch manager, Luo Zhiqiang, to see how he wanted to proceed. He stepped away and dialed his mobile phone.
Luo Zhiqiang happened to be in Xiang Zhiqiu’s office at that very moment. He answered the call. "Manager Luo, we've found Miss Li. However, the person operating her account isn't her—it's her boyfriend."
"Her boyfriend?" Luo was surprised. It wasn't Nina Li who was a trading genius, but her boyfriend? Who was this man? But now was not the time for such questions. The boss wanted to see the trader. "Bring them both to the company immediately," Luo ordered.
"Well," He hesitated, "the boyfriend says they don't have time to see the boss."
"What? No time?" Luo was stunned.
"They're completely focused on trading. They seem desperate for money and are ignoring us entirely," He reported.
"Did you tell them who our boss is?"
"We did!"
Luo was even more shocked. "They know who he is and still refuse to come? That is some serious arrogance."
"They really won't come?" Xiang Zhiqiu, who had been listening to the conversation from his desk, asked.
Luo nodded, looking troubled.
Xiang Zhiqiu pondered for a moment, then stood up. "Since they won't come to me, I will go see them myself."
