Chapter 39: Raking in 100 Million in a Single Afternoon!
Having witnessed Chen Hao’s lightning-fast ultra-short-term trading firsthand, Xiang Zhiqiuh, known as the "God of Stocks in Hong Kong," finally realized just how vast the gap between them truly was.
Compared to Chen Hao’s trading prowess, Chen Hao was standing in the heavens while he was merely rooted to the earth. Chen Hao was the real-deal God of Stocks, while in front of him, Xiang felt he hardly qualified even as a "stock worm."
At this moment, it wasn't just Xiang Zhiqiuh who was stunned; every trader present was equally shocked. Previously, they had followed Chen Hao’s lead based on the transaction records of Lizhi’s account, and even then, they had thought his speed was remarkable. They never imagined he could be even faster. Furthermore, despite his breakneck pace, the win rate of the trades he commanded was an astounding 99%. They simply could not fathom how he managed to achieve such a feat.
After a period of observation, Xiang was certain of Chen Hao’s impeccable skill. He immediately called his finance manager and ordered, "Transfer another 300 million to me immediately!" He decided to commit even more capital to Chen Hao’s management. Including the initial 100 million, that brought the total to 400 million—the absolute limit of the funds Xiang could mobilize at the moment. He entrusted this entire sum to Chen Hao. To avoid causing abnormal fluctuations in share prices due to the massive volume of capital, Xiang had the funds spread across numerous brokerage accounts and reassigned most of his company's traders to work under Chen Hao’s direct command.
Chen Hao did not disappoint. In just one afternoon, by managing the 400 million provided by Xiang, he reaped a profit of 100 million in the Hong Kong stock market.
"Incredible!"
"Amazing!"
"Truly brilliant!"
"To manage 600 million in funds and earn 100 million in a single afternoon—Mr. Chen, you are simply too extraordinary!" Xiang Zhiqiuh gave Chen Hao a thumbs-up, full of admiration. If it were him, he certainly couldn't have managed 600 million and netted 100 million in just a few hours, not even in his prime. Chen Hao was simply peerless.
"Mr. Xiang, you are too kind," Chen Hao said with a faint smile.
However, his complexion was particularly ghastly. That afternoon, managing 600 million in capital—plus the nearly 10 million belonging to himself and Lizhi—had placed a much greater strain on his mental faculties than ever before. The pace was significantly faster, further depleting his energy. He felt as though his brain had been hollowed out, leaving him dizzy and profoundly uncomfortable. When he stood up, he felt unsteady, as if he might topple over at any moment.
"Chen Hao! Chen Hao!" Seeing that he was losing his balance, Lizhi quickly reached out to support him, pulling his body close to hers. Her heart ached to see him so exhausted.
"Mr. Chen, are you alright?" Xiang asked, his expression tightening.
"I’m fine, just a bit of mental overexertion, that’s all," Chen Hao said with a forced smile. "I’ll be fine after a little rest."
"Jianxiang, drive Mr. Chen home," Xiang ordered his bodyguard and driver, Lin Jianxiang.
"But Mr. Xiang, I am responsible for your safety," Lin hesitated.
"I’ll be right here in the office waiting for your return. Nothing will happen. Go on!"
"Very well," Lin nodded. He turned to Chen Hao and said, "Mr. Chen, let me drive you home."
"Much appreciated," Chen Hao nodded slightly. Supported by Lizhi, he followed Lin Jianxiang to Xiang’s private car and was driven back to their residence.
Once home, Chen Hao retreated to his room to rest, while Lizhi went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. By the time the meal was ready, she woke him up. After resting for over an hour, Chen Hao felt significantly better.
"Chen Hao, you are pushing yourself too hard," Lizhi said, looking at him with deep concern. "You can’t keep going like this; your body won't take it."
Although she wanted Chen Hao to earn money so they could have a better life, she would rather he earn less than see him break down from exhaustion. She had initially been drawn to him for his wealth, but after spending time together, she cared far more for the man himself than for his ability to make money.
"Don't worry," Chen Hao smiled. "I’m fine. It was just a bit of mental fatigue. I’ll be back to normal after resting. For us, time is money right now. I’m planning for a massive 'bottom-fishing' opportunity in the near future, so I need to accumulate as much capital as possible during this time."
"But... you're working so hard, I’m truly worried you'll collapse," Lizhi insisted.
"Rest assured, I practice the 'Eight Brocades' at least three times a day to keep in shape. My health is perfectly fine. Don’t you believe me? I could still battle you for a thousand rounds tonight!" Chen Hao teased.
"Go away!" Lizhi shot him a playful glare. "Who’s going to battle you for a thousand rounds?"
"Why, you, my little enchantress, of course," Chen Hao reached out and took her hand.
"You’re the little enchantress!" Lizhi rolled her eyes, but she didn't pull her hand away, letting him hold it. After a moment, her eyes twinkled as she asked, "By the way, you helped Mr. Xiang earn 100 million today. According to your agreement, doesn't that mean you get 50 million?"
"That’s right," Chen Hao nodded.
"My goodness, you earned 50 million in one afternoon? That’s just too incredible!" Lizhi was filled with shock and admiration. Then, a look of worry crossed her face. "Do you think Mr. Xiang might go back on his word and not give you the 50 million?"
"You don't need to worry about that," Chen Hao explained with a smile. "I know Mr. Xiang quite well. He values his reputation immensely and won't go back on his word. Besides, he’s a smart man. If he wants to keep making more money, he wouldn't be foolish enough to burn bridges."
