Chapter 56: I Am a Senior Inspector of the West Kowloon Major Crime Unit!
After leaving the headquarters of Dachang Group, Chen Hao intended to hail a taxi to return to the residence he shared with Lizhi.
Suddenly, he remembered that Lizhi had once told him she liked the glutinous rice chicken from “Tian Ji” in West Kowloon.
He was right in West Kowloon now!
Moreover, "Tian Ji" was nearby—just a few minutes’ walk away!
So, he set off on foot toward “Tian Ji,” planning to buy some glutinous rice chicken to bring back for Lizhi.
As he walked, he suddenly heard shouting behind him: “Big Head Biao, stop right there!”
He immediately turned to look.
A man with an unusually large head was sprinting toward him in a panic.
Behind this big-headed man was a burly, dark-skinned middle-aged man, chasing closely.
Seeing the two men rushing toward him, Chen Hao quickly stepped aside to avoid being knocked over.
The two men dashed past him swiftly.
Continuing forward, Chen Hao saw the big-headed man turn into an alley.
The burly man followed shortly after.
A moment later, as Chen Hao passed the alley, he heard the sounds of a fierce fight coming from within.
Curious, he glanced inside.
The burly man who had been chasing the big-headed man was now surrounded by seven or eight thugs.
Though the burly man was quite skilled, the seven or eight thugs were equally proficient.
Outnumbered, the burly man was soon knocked to the ground, relentlessly pummeled by the thugs.
“What are you looking at?” the big-headed man snapped.
“Get lost!”
The man nicknamed Big Head Biao spotted Chen Hao watching at the alley’s entrance. He glared and picked up a brick, hurling it at Chen Hao.
Chen Hao was dumbfounded.
He was only curious, and this guy threw a brick at him? Ridiculous!
He didn’t dodge but caught the flying brick with one hand.
“Damn...” Big Head Biao’s eyes widened in shock.
He hadn’t expected Chen Hao to catch the brick barehanded.
Chen Hao dropped the brick to the ground and, with a stern expression, walked toward Big Head Biao.
He had only been watching out of curiosity but never imagined Big Head Biao would throw a brick at him.
Chen Hao wasn’t someone to be bullied.
“What do you want, kid?” Big Head Biao’s face darkened as he stared fiercely.
“You looking for trouble?”
Chen Hao said nothing, continuing to approach with a steady face.
“Guys! Teach this idiot a lesson!” Big Head Biao ordered his thugs.
“Got it, Biao!” Four of the thugs stopped attacking the burly man and charged at Chen Hao with vicious intent.
Facing the coordinated attack, Chen Hao showed no fear.
He met them head-on, moving like a shadow to evade their strikes.
At lightning speed, he targeted their pressure points and nerve centers.
With each precise strike, one thug howled in pain and collapsed, paralyzed and grimacing.
Soon, all four thugs lay defeated.
The remaining thugs exchanged looks, impressed by Chen Hao’s skill.
Without hesitation, they scattered and fled down the other end of the alley.
“Damn!” Big Head Biao was stunned by Chen Hao’s extraordinary skill.
He never expected this seemingly fragile young man to so effortlessly take down four of his men.
Fear gripped him, and he fled the alley as well.
“Think you can run?” Chen Hao snorted coldly.
With a swift movement, he closed the distance like a gust of wind and delivered a flying kick to Big Head Biao’s backside.
Thud!
Big Head Biao lost his balance and fell flat on the ground, looking utterly humiliated.
“Nice moves!” The burly man stood up, clapping loudly and cheering.
He strode over and grabbed Big Head Biao by the collar.
From his waist, he pulled out a pair of handcuffs.
“Big Head Biao, I’m Senior Inspector Liang Jianxiong of the West Kowloon Major Crime Unit,” he announced.
“You’re now a suspect in a case. I’m taking you in for questioning.”
“You’re not obliged to say anything unless you want to, but whatever you do say will be recorded and may be used as evidence in court.”
As he cuffed Big Head Biao, he spoke firmly.
Chen Hao was momentarily stunned.
So this burly man was a police officer—a senior inspector, no less.
And the lines he spoke were exactly like those in Hong Kong dramas!
Apparently, Hong Kong cops really do say these classic lines when arresting suspects.
But why hadn’t Inspector Liang drawn his gun when he was attacked by Big Head Biao’s thugs earlier?
Actually, it wasn’t his fault.
Inspector Liang was off duty that day, unarmed, and just happened to run into the suspect he’d been pursuing—Big Head Biao.
That explained the earlier pursuit.
He had thought he wouldn’t catch Big Head Biao that day after being beaten by several thugs.
Unexpectedly, a young man appeared and effortlessly took down the thugs, even knocking Big Head Biao to the ground with a kick.
That made it easy for Liang to arrest him.
He immediately called for backup, and nearby officers soon arrived to assist, cuffing Big Head Biao and four thugs lying on the ground.
“Brother, thanks for your help earlier,” Inspector Liang said gratefully to Chen Hao.
“No need to mention it,” Chen Hao replied.
He had only intended to teach the big-headed man a lesson, never imagining he’d unintentionally save a senior inspector.
