“I’m Chen Hao,” Chen Hao replied, also reaching out to shake his hand.

“Mr. Chen, you have quite impressive skills,” Liang Jianxiong remarked with curiosity. “Have you practiced martial arts before?”

“I’ve trained in Baduanjin and Tai Chi,” Chen Hao smiled, explaining, “both are health-preserving exercises.”

“Health exercises can give you such good skills?” Liang was amazed.

“You flatter me,” Chen Hao responded with a faint smile.

“May I ask where you are currently employed?” Liang inquired thoughtfully.

He was impressed by Chen Hao’s abilities and thought that if Chen Hao joined their Royal Hong Kong Police Force, he would be a valuable asset.

“I’m currently unemployed,” Chen Hao shook his head slightly.

Upon hearing this, Liang’s eyes brightened. “Do you have permanent residency in Hong Kong Island?”

From Chen Hao’s accent, Liang guessed he wasn’t a local. Without permanent residency, Chen Hao wouldn’t qualify to join the Island’s Royal Police.

“I just obtained it recently,” Chen Hao replied.

“That’s perfect!” Liang said eagerly. “I think your skills are excellent. If you join the Royal Hong Kong Police on the Island, I believe you’ll accomplish great things. Would you be interested?”

“Uh…” Chen Hao hesitated. “I’m rather carefree by nature. Joining the Royal Police might tarnish their image.”

Chen Hao tactfully declined Liang’s offer.

“In that case, forget it,” Liang said with a hint of regret.

Liang Jianxiong clearly sensed Chen Hao’s reluctance to join the Royal Police. He didn’t push further but felt a twinge of disappointment.

After a moment’s thought, he asked, “By the way, do you have any contact information?”

“Yes!” Chen Hao nodded and shared his phone number and pager number with Liang. Liang reciprocated by giving his own phone and pager numbers.

At that time, mobile phones lacked caller ID, so owners often carried pagers as well.

Having exchanged contacts, the two parted ways.

Chen Hao didn’t forget to stop by the nearby Tian Ji eatery to buy some glutinous rice chicken for Lizhi. Then he hailed a taxi and returned to their residence.

“Brother Hao, you’re back!” Lizhi greeted him eagerly. “How did things go with Dachang Real Estate?”

“Chen Bing refused to hand over control of Dachang Real Estate,” Chen Hao replied simply. “I plan to go again tomorrow.”

He didn’t mention that Chen Bing had tried to kill him, not wanting to worry Lizhi.

As for Chen Bing’s threat, Chen Hao was unafraid. He was on good terms with powerful figures like Xiang Zhiqiu, Guo Desheng, and Zheng Yutong. He could rely on them to handle Chen Bing.

“Brother Hao, you want Chen Bing to hand over the control of Dachang Real Estate. Do you think he might secretly target you?” Lizhi asked anxiously.

“Don’t worry, my connections with Xiang Zhiqiu, Guo Desheng, and Zheng Yutong are still solid,” Chen Hao smiled reassuringly. “I doubt Chen Bing has the guts.”

Hearing this, Lizhi relaxed somewhat.

“Look what I brought you!” Chen Hao pulled out the glutinous rice chicken he bought.

“Tian Ji’s glutinous rice chicken!” Lizhi’s face lit up with delight. She kissed him affectionately, “Brother Hao, you’re so good to me!”

“If I treat you this well, how do you plan to repay me?” Chen Hao teased with a meaningful smile.

“It’s… broad daylight!” Lizhi blushed deeply, instantly understanding his meaning.

After breakfast and bidding Lizhi farewell, Chen Hao left their residence, hailed a taxi, and headed once more to Dachang Group’s headquarters.

The previous night, he had already informed Xiang Zhiqiu and Guo Desheng about the situation with Dachang Real Estate and Chen Bing. Both had called Chen Bing, warning him not to cause trouble and demanding that he transfer control of Dachang Real Estate to Chen Hao as per their previous bet.

So today, Chen Hao was determined to secure control of Dachang Real Estate.

Chen Hao’s temporary residence was in the Wan Chai area, while Dachang Group’s headquarters were in West Kowloon. Traveling from Wan Chai to West Kowloon required passing through the Hung Hom Cross-Harbour Tunnel.

The taxi passed through the tunnel, entered Kowloon, and proceeded towards Dachang Group’s headquarters.

Chen Hao sat in the back seat, enjoying the passing street scenes. He planned that after settling the Dachang Real Estate matter, he would take Lizhi to purchase a luxury car.

Though he didn’t have a Hong Kong Island driver’s license, Lizhi did. She could be his driver whenever he needed.

Suddenly, the taxi entered a road with light traffic. Out of nowhere, a large truck veered from the opposite lane into their lane, hurtling directly at the taxi.

“No!” Chen Hao’s expression tightened. Without hesitation, he opened the door, clasped his head with both hands, and leapt out of the vehicle.

Thanks to his agility, Chen Hao rolled several times on the ground, steadying himself.

A loud crash followed as the truck slammed into the taxi, mangling it beyond recognition.

Then, the truck swung around and charged fiercely toward Chen Hao.

Chen Hao immediately realized this truck was targeting him. The driver must have been arranged by Chen Bing, intent on killing him.

He dodged swiftly, avoiding the truck’s attack.

Nearby, a motorcycle traffic policeman on patrol noticed the commotion. He sounded his siren and sped toward the scene.

The truck panicked and fled.

“Trying to escape? No way!” Chen Hao picked up a stone from the ground. Using all his strength, he hurled it toward the truck’s tires.

Since his rebirth, his strength had greatly increased.
