Chapter 7: You Provide the Funds, I'll Provide the Brains

Drawing on his experiences from a past life, combined with the powerful memory and calculation abilities he gained after rebirth, Chen Hao accurately predicted the stock price trends of three stocks.
This impressed Lizhi greatly, and she held Chen Hao’s abilities in high regard.
Seizing the moment, Chen Hao immediately sought to borrow more money from Lizhi to continue investing in stocks.
“You want to borrow more money from me?” Lizhi quickly grasped Chen Hao’s intention.
“That’s right!” Chen Hao replied.
“If you trust me, we could even partner up,” he proposed.
“You provide the funds, I provide the brains.”
“Afterwards, we split the profits fifty-fifty,” he added after some thought.
He hoped to use this approach to secure more capital from Lizhi to trade stocks. The larger the capital base, the greater the potential earnings. Moreover, Lizhi would benefit as well.
It was a win-win situation.
“You provide the funds, I provide the brains,” Chen Hao repeated.
“We split the profits fifty-fifty afterwards.”
“Hm,” Lizhi said, showing genuine interest.
Though her family was wealthy, Lizhi was strong-willed and economically independent. Since returning from studying abroad in Eagle Nation, she had supported herself through her own efforts. Although she had entered the entertainment industry in Harbor Island and acted in several films, the pay for artists there was not particularly high. Thus, her savings were modest.
She wanted to earn more money. Besides, she had studied business economics at San Francisco University in Eagle Nation. While not directly related to stock trading, watching Chen Hao’s skills sparked a deep interest in stocks.
Without much hesitation, she nodded in agreement: “Alright, I’ll partner with you.”
“Fantastic!” Chen Hao was overjoyed to hear her consent.
“How much should I invest?” Lizhi asked.
“The more, the better!” Chen Hao said.
“But... I haven’t worked long and can’t put up too much,” Lizhi frowned slightly.
“How much can you provide?” Chen Hao inquired.
“Probably around 300,000 to 400,000 Hong Kong dollars,” she answered after consideration.
“Ah?” Chen Hao was stunned.
“You’re the reigning Miss Asia, and you can only provide 300,000 to 400,000 Hong Kong dollars?” he exclaimed.

He had assumed Lizhi was a major star from a wealthy family, so even if not millions, she could surely contribute several million.
Yet, she could only offer 300,000 to 400,000 Hong Kong dollars.
“I’ve only worked for two years,” Lizhi said, shooting Chen Hao a sideways glance.
“Besides, I just entered the industry recently. The pay isn’t that high. That 300,000 to 400,000 is all my savings.”
“Alright then,” Chen Hao said.
“300,000 to 400,000 Hong Kong dollars will do.”
“Transfer the money into our securities account now.”
“Huh? Now?” Lizhi was momentarily taken aback.
“Of course, the sooner the better,” Chen Hao nodded.
“The earlier we invest, the more we can earn.”
“But...” Lizhi hesitated.
“I’m still a bit worried.”
Although she had witnessed Chen Hao’s extraordinary stock trading ability, she remained apprehensive. After all, that sum was her hard-earned savings, and she did not want to lose it all at once.
“You’re still unsure about my stock trading skills, aren’t you?” Chen Hao asked.
“Yes,” Lizhi nodded.
“Alright then,” Chen Hao said.
“I’ll keep trading, and you watch closely.”
“You’ll see whether my success is luck or skill.”
Chen Hao understood her concerns. For many ordinary investors, stock trading often felt like a game of chance. If making money were that easy, everyone would be doing it.
“Okay,” Lizhi nodded.
Chen Hao then continued trading using the 10,000 Hong Kong dollars Lizhi had previously deposited, along with the few thousand he had just earned.
As before, he analyzed each stock’s price trends, predicting which would rise or fall.
He instructed Lizhi to call the trader at Xiangsheng Securities to buy stocks with a high chance of appreciation.
Working together, they traded throughout the morning until the market closed.
After a morning of operations, Chen Hao and Lizhi earned over 10,000 Hong Kong dollars.
“Oh my!” Lizhi exclaimed.

“In just one morning, you made more than 10,000 Hong Kong dollars!”
“That’s an incredibly fast way to make money!”
Her face beamed with delight. She had never imagined Chen Hao was so formidable. With just 10,000 Hong Kong dollars, he earned more than that in a single morning.
If the capital were one million Hong Kong dollars, Chen Hao could potentially earn over a million in just one morning.
The speed of profit-making was almost unbelievable.
Moreover, the method seemed quite effortless—far easier than acting.
What she did not know was that while Chen Hao’s trading appeared relaxed, it was mentally exhausting.
After a morning of intense concentration, Chen Hao felt as if his brain might explode. His head was dizzy and heavy—extremely uncomfortable.
“What’s wrong? You look terrible. Are you feeling unwell?” Lizhi, noticing his pale complexion, asked with concern.
“It’s nothing,” Chen Hao said, rubbing his head and shaking it slightly.
“I just overexerted my brain. I feel a bit dizzy. I’ll be fine after a rest.”
“Oh,” Lizhi said.
“Let me take you home. Where do you live?”
Chen Hao hesitated, unsure how to answer. He certainly couldn’t tell her he lived in a chaotic, filthy slum.
His eyes flicked around as he said, “It’s already noon. Why don’t we have lunch together?”
“Good idea,” Lizhi agreed.
Together, they left the trading hall of the stock exchange.
Soon, they found a restaurant called Chen’s Tea House to eat.
After ordering, Chen Hao looked across at Lizhi and said, “You believe now that my stock trading is based on skill, not luck, right?”
“Yes, yes!” Lizhi nodded eagerly.
“I didn’t expect you to be so good at trading.”
“The stocks you predicted almost all went up as you said!”
“How do you do it?” she asked, full of admiration and curiosity about how Chen Hao achieved such precise forecasts.
