“Of course, I did it with my brain!” Chen Hao tapped his head and smiled.

“...” Li Zhi shot him a sharp glance.

She knew Chen Hao was being vague in response to her question because he didn’t want to reveal the crucial details.

She didn’t press him further.

“By the way, since you now believe I really rely on skill to trade stocks,” Chen Hao quickly said, “after lunch, let’s go to Xiangsheng Securities together and deposit your money into a securities account!”

“All right,” Li Zhi nodded.

In fact, after witnessing Chen Hao’s impressive performance in the Hong Kong stock market that morning, she had already decided to entrust all her money to him for trading.

“By the way, Chen Hao,” Li Zhi asked, “why do you insist on opening the account with my ID card? Aren’t you afraid that once we make money, I might disappear with it all?”

“You won’t!” Chen Hao smiled. “I trust you!”

Actually, Chen Hao had no choice but to use Li Zhi’s ID to open an account. Without an official Hong Kong identity, he was effectively undocumented here.

For now, he had to put his trust in Li Zhi.

“Heh, I don’t believe you,” Li Zhi said, shaking her head lightly, a glint of intelligence shining in her eyes.

She was exceptionally sharp and had already sensed that Chen Hao was hiding something.

“All right,” Chen Hao admitted, “I haven’t been completely honest. To be frank, I don’t have a legal identity in Hong Kong.”

“So it is,” Li Zhi murmured, confirming what she had suspected.

But she didn’t look down on Chen Hao because of it.

Like her, he was from the mainland.

She felt an inexplicable sense of kinship toward him.

“You won’t report me, will you?” Chen Hao smiled at her.

“What do you take me for?” Li Zhi’s expression darkened as she glared at him. “If I wanted to report you, I would have called the police this morning and said you were harassing me!”

“Sorry, I misspoke,” Chen Hao quickly apologized.

“Forget it,” Li Zhi waved her hand.

They continued chatting casually as they ate.

---

Li Zhi knew Chen Hao was short on cash, so she took the initiative to pay the bill.

Afterward, they left the restaurant together.

“Chen Hao, since you don’t have a legal identity here,” Li Zhi suddenly said, “I suppose you don’t have a proper place to live either?”

“Yeah,” Chen Hao nodded. “I’m currently living in a slum.”

“No wonder you avoided my offer to take you home earlier,” Li Zhi smiled faintly.

“Heh, you caught me,” Chen Hao scratched the back of his head, feeling a little embarrassed.

He glanced at Li Zhi, realizing that not all fierce-looking beauties were mindless.

At least this sharp-eyed beauty was very clever.

Just then, a taxi passed by.

Li Zhi suddenly raised her hand to hail it.

She turned to Chen Hao and said, “Get in with me.”

“Aren’t we going to Xiangsheng Securities?” Chen Hao asked, puzzled. “Where are you taking me now?”

“The securities office probably isn’t open yet,” Li Zhi said with a mysterious smile. “I’ll take you somewhere first. You’ll see when we get there.”

“All right,” Chen Hao nodded and followed her into the taxi.

He was barefoot—what did he have to fear? Surely Li Zhi wouldn’t kidnap him.

The taxi took them to a residential area.

Li Zhi led him inside.

Soon, they arrived at the fifth floor of an apartment building.

Li Zhi stopped in front of a door and pulled out a set of keys.

She unlocked the door and pushed it open.

“Come in,” she said.

Chen Hao hesitated for a moment before stepping inside.

The apartment was empty, with no personal belongings, but the furniture was all there.

“This is your home?” Chen Hao looked around, puzzled.

“No,” Li Zhi said. “It belongs to a friend of mine.”

“They emigrated to Australia as a family.”

“But they didn’t want to sell the place.”

“So they asked me to look after it.”

“Since you don’t have a place to stay, you can live here temporarily—and keep an eye on the place for my friend,” Li Zhi explained.

“You really want me to stay here?” Chen Hao was astonished.

He hadn’t expected Li Zhi to trust him so much and offer him a temporary home.

“Of course,” she smiled. “We’re partners now. It’ll be easier to find you if you live here. My place is not far from here.”

“Miss Li Zhi, thank you so much!” Chen Hao said, deeply moved.

Though he had just been reborn into this world, he knew from memory that his counterpart here lived a hard life in a cramped slum.

This apartment wasn’t a villa, but it was spacious—three bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen.

For someone from the mainland, this was paradise.

They had known each other less than a day, and he had even taken Li Zhi’s virginity last night—and yet she had voluntarily offered him this place to stay.

He was genuinely touched.

“You’re welcome,” Li Zhi said, handing him the keys. “Keep these safe.”

“Remember, don’t mess with the layout of this apartment. Keep it clean.”

“If you turn it into a pigsty, I will kick you out immediately.”

Chen Hao took the keys and assured her, “Don’t worry. I won’t mess anything up here.”

“By the way,” Li Zhi said thoughtfully, “I’ll find a way to help you with your identity issue.”

“Huh? You can help me get a legal Hong Kong identity?” Chen Hao’s face lit up with joy.

If Li Zhi could help him obtain legal status in Hong Kong, he wouldn’t have to live in constant fear.

If the authorities discovered his undocumented status, he’d be deported back to the mainland.

Then, trying to bottom-fish in the Hong Kong or Yingguo stock markets would become much more difficult.

Securing a legitimate Hong Kong identity would solve many problems at once.
