Seeing that Jiang Kai knew the residents of Cloud Fragrance Manor, Jiang Ye’s eyes lit up. This recruitment method was proving effective indeed.

Jiang Ye: [The third tour is about to open, but this time, I am only recruiting residents from Cloud Fragrance Manor.]

As soon as the message was posted, the second group’s WeChat chat exploded instantly.

Shi Xiaoyu: [Why?! We won’t accept this! ┭┮﹏┭┮]
Fang Gaochang: [Exactly! We were the original members!]
Zheng Chen: [Director Jiang, these rules are unfair!]
Li Lin: [+1, we want to go too!]
Wu Xiaoshi: [That’s right! We promised Ancestral Dragon that we would come back to see him.]
Zhao Lei: [Director Jiang, could you make an exception for us?]
Li Jun: [We can pay extra!]
Jiang Ye: [Rules are rules, I’m afraid I can’t help.]

He felt quite helpless about it himself.

The group was filled with wails and a barrage of crying stickers.

Suddenly, Jiang Kai chimed in: [@Jiang Ye, I’ll go find Qiao Wenbo right now. Guaranteed to complete the mission!]

He followed this with a military salute sticker.

Fang Gaochang added sourly: [Lucky for that rich kid...]
Shi Xiaoyu posted a "Jealousy makes me unrecognizable" meme.

Seeing how proactive Jiang Kai was, Jiang Ye felt a bit embarrassed.

Jiang Ye: [It’s very late, go tomorrow! If possible, have your friend help recruit a few more people.]
Jiang Kai: [How many spots this time?]
Jiang Ye: [Ten spots.]
Jiang Kai: [OK!]

Jiang Kai checked his phone—it was 12:23 AM, the peak of nightlife. He sent a WeChat message directly to Qiao Wenbo.

[Where are you partying?]

The reply was instantaneous: [Nightlife Bar, VIP Room 3. Coming?]

Jiang Kai grinned, grabbed his jacket, and rushed out. Twenty minutes later, a taxi screeched to a halt in front of the neon-lit entrance of "Nightlife."

Pushing open the door to VIP Room 3, a deafening blast of music hit him. Amidst the swirling smoke, Qiao Wenbo was holding a girl while shaking dice. When he saw Jiang Kai, his eyes lit up: "Yo! Rare guest!"

Seven or eight young masters in the booth stared over. Someone whistled: "Isn't this Brother Kai? Come on, you have to down three drinks as a penalty!"

Qiao Wenbo dragged Jiang Kai to his side and casually poured a glass of Ace of Spades, pushing it toward him: "What brings you here in the middle of the night?"

Jiang Kai finished the drink in one gulp and leaned into Qiao Wenbo’s ear, shouting: "It’s serious business! Let’s go outside!"

Qiao Wenbo raised an eyebrow, slung his arm around Jiang Kai’s shoulder, and swayed out of the booth. Once the soundproof door closed behind them, the music faded significantly.

"What’s so urgent?" Qiao Wenbo leaned against the wall, a half-smoked cigar held between his fingertips.

Jiang Kai looked around suspiciously and lowered his voice: "Remember what I told you the other day? About traveling to the Qin Dynasty."

Qiao Wenbo nodded. "I remember. So what?"

Jiang Kai said excitedly: "I have good news for you. You have a chance to experience a trip to the Qin Dynasty."

Qiao Wenbo rolled his eyes. "Can you stop? I don't have time for your games."

Seeing he didn't believe him, Jiang Kai grew anxious. "I’m telling the truth."

Qiao Wenbo had no interest in discussing this further. He turned around and pushed the door back open, with Jiang Kai following close behind.

"Just trust me once. I would never lie to you."

The others in the booth were drawn by their behavior, and someone turned down the music.

"What’s going on with you two?"
"What’s all this about lying?" the other young men asked.

Qiao Wenbo leaned lazily against the leather sofa, swirling his glass: "Our young Master Jiang here says he traveled to the Qin Dynasty and met the First Emperor."

He drawled out the words, "And now he’s telling me I have a chance to go, too."

The room erupted in raucous laughter.

"Hahaha, Jiang Kai, are you high?"
"The Qin Dynasty? Why not say you went to the Celestial Court?"
"Do you need a referral to a mental institution? My uncle runs one!"

A young man with silver hair laughed so hard he slapped his thigh: "Jiang Kai, next time you travel, remember to ask Ying Zheng for an autograph for me!"

Someone else mischievously pulled out their phone: "Come on, let’s record a video. Brother Kai, care to tell your travel story again for the camera?"

Jiang Kai stood in the center of the room, face flushed red, looking like a monkey in a circus. The background was filled with whistles and jeers of "Do it again!" Someone even turned on their phone’s flash, waving it in his face.

"I’m telling the truth!" Jiang Kai snatched the phone from the guy and looked at Qiao Wenbo. "How about this—let’s make a bet."

"If I really let you travel to the Qin Dynasty, you become my lackey for three months, on call whenever I need you. If I can’t, I’ll be your lackey for half a year. Whatever you say, I do. Deal?"

Qiao Wenbo straightened up, staring at him in shock. "You're going that far?"

"Are you betting or not?" Jiang Kai was all in; in his mind, he had already won.

The others egged them on, urging Qiao Wenbo to accept.

Surrounded by the crowd, Qiao Wenbo slapped the table. "You're on!"

The jeering grew louder as the young men crowded around.

"Count me in!" Wu Jie slammed his glass on the table. "You’ve always wanted that limited-edition figurine of mine; I’m betting that!"

Feng Yiming took the million-dollar watch off his wrist and placed it on the table. "I’m betting this."

Geng Cang didn't want to be left behind, throwing his car keys onto the table. "I’m betting a Ferrari!"

Jiang Kai’s eyes brightened, scanning the three of them. "You three—you’re all residents of Cloud Fragrance Manor, right?"

"Yeah, so?" Wu Jie asked, confused.

"Deal! You three it is!" Jiang Kai slapped his thigh in excitement.

The silver-haired guy shouted, "Wait! What about me? Did you ask me? I’m in. You can’t leave me out of the fun, Master Jiang."

"That’s right, I’ll bet a blue McLaren."
"I’ll put up a car, too."

Jiang Kai was tempted, but they didn't qualify.

He shook his head. "Wu Jie and the others are in, but you guys aren't."

The others protested immediately: "Why not?!"
"Yeah! Who do you think you are?"

Surrounded by the group, Jiang Kai had to raise his voice: "It’s not favoritism! It’s the rules! Only residents of Cloud Fragrance Manor are eligible!"

"What kind of stupid rule is that!" Jiang Tianchen, the silver-haired man, said indignantly. "I’ll buy a villa in Cloud Fragrance Manor tomorrow!"

Qiao Wenbo grabbed Jiang Kai by the neck: "You’d better not be playing games! If you’re lying to me..." He narrowed his eyes. "Half a year as my lackey, not a single day less!"

Wu Jie and the other two were already pulling out their phones, impatient. "When do we leave? What do we need to prepare?"

"I don't know, we need ten people to start. Right now, there are only you four." Jiang Kai spread his hands, then his eyes darted around. "How about you bring your families along?"
