Zhang Tao swallowed nervously, his voice trembling, “Director Jiang, you’re not joking, right? This joke isn’t funny at all.”
The other four also stared at Jiang Ye, their eyes still unable to believe that they had really traveled back to the Qin Dynasty.
Jiang Ye cleared his throat lightly. “Didn’t I say? Our travel destination is the Qin Dynasty. Didn’t you all know that?”
Damn it—when you say you’re going to the Qin Dynasty, who would have thought you actually meant it?
The five silently complained in their hearts.
Jiang Ye looked at the road ahead. “This place isn’t suitable for driving. Everyone get out of the car.”
“Okay.”
The car doors opened, and the five got out one by one. Before stepping down, Jiang Ye reminded them to bring water bottles and their phones.
As soon as Jiang Ye stepped out, the seven-seater SUV that had been parked vanished instantly in the next moment.
Zhang Tao, Li Jianguo, and Li Minghui’s pupils dilated sharply, their eyes filled with disbelief as they looked at Jiang Ye.
Jiang Ye was also surprised inwardly, but his expression remained calm, as if this was no big deal. This composed demeanor only deepened the others’ awe towards him.
Jiang Ye’s inner thoughts: Damn it, you could’ve at least made a sound before disappearing! Nearly scared the handsome guy to death!
Li Jianguo swallowed hard, voice trembling slightly. “Director Jiang, how… how did the car just disappear? How did you do that?”
The system gave him such a tough moment, forcing him to start with the usual classic lines.
Jiang Ye smiled lightly, his tone relaxed and indifferent. “Don’t worry, this is normal. Such a large object can’t stay here; otherwise, it would cause unnecessary trouble.”
“Normal?” Zhang Tao widened his eyes, clearly unable to accept the explanation. “The car just vanished into thin air, and you call that normal?”
However, Li Minghui and the others processed it quickly. Liu Zhendong stepped forward and patted him on the shoulder. “We’ve all traveled back to the Qin Dynasty. What’s impossible now?”
With that said, Zhang Tao and Li Jianguo thought for a moment and realized he was right.
Li Jianguo couldn’t help asking, “Director Jiang, are we really in the Qin Dynasty? Two thousand years ago?”
“Yes.”
No sooner had he spoken, a cold mechanical voice sounded in his ear.
[ Ding! Tour mission triggered: Lead tourists to explore the Langya Scenic Area and participate in the welcoming event for the Eastern Tour of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. ]
[ Mission success: Rewarded with basic combat skills. ]
Jiang Ye’s grasp of history wasn’t perfect, but he knew that during Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s reign, the social hierarchy was strict and laws harsh. Commoners had to carry “identity tags” — ancient ID cards, and checkpoints were scattered throughout the country.
They obviously didn’t have these identity tags; coming from the 21st century, they were essentially undocumented people here.

Entering Langya meant thorough inspections.
Not to mention, their modern attire would immediately draw attention and possibly land them in jail.
Jiang Ye stared at the tour mission, a line of frustration crossing his forehead.
He glanced around, wondering which way to go.
“Tong Ge, can you at least give me some navigation?”
Damn it, it was pitch black — which way should they head?
[ Ding! Newcomer group starter pack granted. ]
At that moment, a system panel appeared before his eyes, showing a navigation icon, six Qin Dynasty “identity tags,” and a set of wigs.
That’s it?!
Jiang Ye looked at the meager starter pack in disbelief, then quietly averted his gaze and looked at the storage menu. The disappeared SUV was locked inside, with a countdown timer showing 11:56 remaining.
Zhang Tao asked, “Director Jiang, where do we go now?”
“Our tour destination is Langya Commandery. Emperor Qin Shi Huang will soon arrive there. Maybe this time we can see him in person.”
“Qin Shi Huang?!” Zhang Tao exclaimed.
The others were visibly excited.
That was the First Emperor, a legendary figure—who wouldn’t want to see him with their own eyes?
“Director Jiang, Jiang Ge, is this really true?” Zhang Tao grasped Jiang Ye’s hand excitedly.
“Of course. But we have to hurry to Langya. If we’re late, we might miss him.”
Since the system clearly triggered a tour mission, it meant Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s entourage was about to arrive at Langya.
“Let’s go, let’s go, let’s hurry to Langya.” Zhang Tao was thrilled.
This was a story he could boast about for the rest of his life.
“Director Jiang, we can’t just go like this. We might get caught before even reaching the city,” Wang Haifeng said, pointing at their clothes.
The starter pack gave them identity tags but didn’t provide proper Qin Dynasty clothes.
Before Jiang Ye could respond, Zhang Minghui spoke up, “We don’t even need to get close to the city. Trouble’s already here.”
All six followed Zhang Minghui’s gaze and saw six mountain bandits wielding axes and machetes, steadily closing in on them.
Jiang Ye’s eyes gleamed as he stared at the six bandits.

Oh, a gift right at our doorstep!
“Boss, these people are dressed strangely.”
“Though their clothes are odd, look at their tender skin. They’re definitely easy targets.” One bandit lingered longer on Jiang Ye’s figure as he spoke of their ‘tender skin.’
Normally, the language of the Qin Dynasty differs greatly from modern speech, yet the six bandits surprisingly understood every word.
The six bandits closed in step by step, shouting aggressively at Jiang Ye’s group, “This road is ours, this tree we planted; if you want to pass, pay us a toll!”
Zhang Tao looked at these ancient tough guys, sensing the deadly aura they exuded—clearly not to be trifled with—and swallowed nervously.
Li Jianguo instinctively glanced at Jiang Ye.
Jiang Ye looked at Zhang Minghui and the others, lowering his voice. “Zhang Ge, whether we get into Langya depends on you guys.”
Zhang Minghui and the others exchanged knowing looks.
The six bandits, seeing Jiang Ye’s group silent, shouted fiercely, “You’re asking for death!”
“Brothers, charge!”
With that cry, all six brandished their weapons and lunged at Jiang Ye’s six.
Zhang Tao, Li Jianguo, and Jiang Ye each stepped back.
Zhang Minghui, Wang Haifeng, and Liu Zhendong rushed forward.
Three against six, raw strength outweighed numbers.
In less than a tea’s time, all six bandits lay on the ground, groaning in pain. Their weapons had been disarmed in the first round by Zhang Minghui’s group.
Jiang Ye stared at the bandits’ clothes and grinned slyly.
The bandits sensed something was wrong when they saw Jiang Ye’s lecherous smile.
“What do you want to do?” the leader asked fearfully, looking at Jiang Ye’s group.
Jiang Ye turned to Zhang Tao and the others. “Strip them!”
Li Jianguo hesitated, “Director Jiang, isn’t that a bit…”
