Qiao Nian’an was resolute in her stance, yet when he called her "baby," a slight frown creased her brow. Despite his cold and aloof exterior, deep down, he was utterly devoted to her. When they were together and alone, he clung to her relentlessly, always calling her "baby."
“Nian’an baby, I’ll be your most loyal puppy.”
She could hardly imagine anyone playing the devoted role with such refreshing sincerity, utterly endearing. The main thing was, it was impossible to associate this "loyal puppy" with the domineering, indifferent Fu Yunzhen.
Qiao Nian’an took a deep breath and looked at Fu Yunzhen. “Move aside, I’m going to be late for work!”
She pushed him away, quickly changed her clothes, and came out, only to find him still standing there, showing no sign of leaving.
She had no choice but to quickly freshen up and leave.
As soon as she left the house, he followed behind.
Qiao Nian’an usually rode shared electric scooters to and from work, only taking taxis when working a part-time job.
“Get in. I’ll take you to work.” This time, Fu Yunzhen was a bit more low-key, driving a Cullinan.
She checked the time and indeed was running late; the boss had said there was an important meeting today.
Without overthinking, she got into her ex-boyfriend’s car.
This guy was top-notch inside and out.
Life had certainly gotten better.
But none of it concerned her anymore.
When they had been together, he was broke; she never cared about his money, only his body and looks.
Part of the reason for their breakup was her family’s bankruptcy—she didn’t want to drag him down or make him suffer alongside her.
Qiao Nian’an named the company, and the driver soon dropped her off at the building.
She took out a fifty-yuan note from her bag. “Keep the change.”
Normally, a taxi ride cost just over forty yuan.
Fu Yunzhen…
He took the fifty-yuan bill infused with her scent and carefully placed it into his old, worn wallet.
That wallet was a birthday gift from Qiao Nian’an on their first anniversary together, with her sincere wish for him to have abundant wealth.
Now he had indeed achieved that—he truly possessed inexhaustible riches.
But she was no longer by his side.
This time he had returned to the country solely to win her back.
To mend what was broken between them.
She said a broken mirror could never be restored.
Then he would buy her a new diamond mirror.
“Mr. Fu, isn’t this the company you just acquired?” The driver whispered after Qiao Nian’an entered the building.
Mr. Fu had played a grand game.

Upon returning to the country, his first act was to acquire all of the Qiao family’s former assets and help them clear their debts. Now, he had even bought the company where Qiao Nian’an worked.
“Mr. Fu, you really are deeply in love with the young madam. This makes me believe in love again!”
“Is it that obvious?” Fu Yunzhen’s face remained indifferent, but inside he was ecstatic when the driver called Qiao Nian’an the young madam.
“Even a blind man could see it,” the driver said.
This gentleman seemed different from the usual Fu Yunzhen the driver knew.
He had followed Fu Yunzhen from China abroad for six years.
The Fu Yunzhen he knew was a man detached from women, almost monk-like.
After finishing all his business, his greatest pastime was chanting Buddhist sutras.
But for six years, the only prayer Fu Yunzhen ever uttered was a strange one: hoping that Qiao Nian’an would never marry.
Every time the driver accompanied him to worship or pray, hearing this prayer was suffocating.
He always thought this woman was formidable—she must have hit a steel wall.
If Fu Yunzhen pursued her, he’d surely be severely hurt.
But unexpectedly, the driver was mistaken.
Fu Yunzhen’s odd prayer was actually to block Qiao Nian’an’s other romantic prospects—to keep her unmarried, giving himself a chance.
This Mr. Fu really knew his moves.
He had just taught the driver a new trick.
Business battles were often plain and straightforward.
Fu Yunzhen said nothing but got out of the car and headed toward the new company.
On his first day in office, he had to meet the employees.
Qiao Nian’an had barely sat down at the office when the sound of breaking objects and shouting erupted from the boss’s office.
Everyone in the company caught the scent of drama, dropping their work to gather outside the boss’s door.
“Jiang Xingguang, have you no conscience? I supported you from nothing, helped you build this empire, and now you want to kick me out and hook up with the accountant! Fine, you two conniving scoundrels—first I deal with her, then I deal with you!”
Shen Niwu’s hysterical voice rang out.
“Divorce me. I no longer love you. The one I love is her,” Jiang Xingguang said coldly.
“Divorce? Fine, but you leave with nothing.” Shen Niwu trembled with fury.
“You’ve contributed nothing to this company. For years, you’ve been detached and unfamiliar with the business. I’m the one making money, not you. You’re the one who should leave empty-handed.”
“You’ve eaten my food and worn my clothes all these years. So what if I cheated? If you can’t turn a blind eye, then fine, let’s divorce! I’m tired of you anyway. Look at what you’ve become—a three hundred-pound fatso. I’m embarrassed to call you my wife!”
Jiang Xingguang’s disdainful gaze swept over Shen Niwu.
Shen Niwu was furious but pinched the area between her nose and upper lip to keep from fainting.
“You scumbag! How dare you call me fat? I’m like this because of you! I endured thousands of injections to bear your child! And you say I’m disgusting and look down on me?” Shen Niwu grabbed the computer and slammed it to the ground.
This scoundrel had schemed against her for a mistress.
And now wanted her to leave empty-handed?

“So you can’t have a son, then don’t hog the seat—let someone else have a chance. If you don’t give me a child, there are plenty who will—young, beautiful, and full of charm,” Jiang Xingguang said, still holding the female accountant in his arms.
Shen Niwu decided not to pretend anymore.
She hurled her high heel directly at the mistress’s face.
The heel struck the mistress’s nose, twisting it immediately. She collapsed into Jiang Xingguang’s arms, crying.
“Husband, look! She attacked me! It’s okay if she bullies me, but if she scares the baby in my belly, that’s a big problem…”
The mistress acted spoiled and coquettish, even urging Jiang Xingguang to discipline Shen Niwu.
But Jiang Xingguang shook his head, “I’m so disappointed in you! You used to be so understanding. Why are you so petty now? And Xiaoshan said she pitied you for not being able to have a son, so she’s carrying one for me. The child will be in your name. Look how considerate Xiaoshan is. Don’t be ungrateful!”
“What kind of understanding is that? Do you think I’m happy enduring all this for your sake? You’re nothing!” Shen Niwu yelled at him.
Then she climbed onto the desk, grabbed Xiaoshan’s hair with one hand, and slapped her hard, the sounds echoing sharply.
“Ahhh…” Xiaoshan was beaten until she spat blood.
“You shameless bitch! You’re my cousin! I pitied you and let you work here as an accountant, not to be my husband’s mistress! Today, I’m teaching you a lesson on behalf of your parents!”
Shen Niwu’s eyes burned with fury.
“Your temper is unbearable for any man! You need to change your damn attitude! Stop hitting her!”
Jiang Xingguang was shocked by Shen Niwu’s violence.
“I don’t need to change my temper. If others minded their own business and didn’t piss me off, I wouldn’t be like this! Look what you two have done to me—a husband and cousin conspiring with each other, even getting her pregnant!” Shen Niwu’s palms tingled but she kept slapping Xiaoshan.
She even dragged Xiaoshan to the floor and continued beating her.
“Stop this madness! Enough!” Jiang Xingguang was worried the baby might be frightened.
He tried to intervene but was slapped away by Shen Niwu with a backhand.
After finishing with Xiaoshan, she recorded a video of her face while saying, “Relatives of the Shen family, come take a look. This Shen Xiaoshan is shameless and ungrateful. I helped her get this accounting job, but she’s been having an affair with my husband. They’re partners in crime, and she’s even pregnant! She’s no good—beware of her!”
She released the video automatically.
“You lunatic! Why film a video? Control yourself!”
Jiang Xingguang cursed as Shen Niwu exposed his shame in the family chat.
After this outburst, he’d never hold his head high in the Shen family again.
“I’m alive to go crazy! Control my temper? I’ll lock you up instead!” Shen Niwu no longer held back. She had endured his whole family for too long.
Now she no longer needed to. She felt her energy renewed.
“Jiang Xingguang, you think you’re so great just because someone paid top dollar to acquire our company? Without me, you’d still be a poor nobody!” Shen Niwu stared fiercely at him. “Believe it or not, with just one word from me, that big shot could cancel the acquisition.”
Jiang Xingguang was momentarily stunned but quickly composed himself.
Then he laughed wildly, “What did you say? You haven’t worked for years and think you know the big shot who bought our company? You think one word from you would make him listen?”
Shen Niwu sneered.
She indeed lacked the power to stop the acquisition herself.
But she had someone who did.
