Volume One, Chapter 12: Li Hanyan Leaves the Country
“Han Yan, are you really sure about this?”
Han Yan’s comrade furrowed his brows deeply, worry almost spilling from his eyes as he stared at him, as if trying to detect the slightest hesitation on his face.
The four special forces soldiers were all tanned from years of sun and wind, their bodies as sturdy as small mountains.
Their arms were thicker than ordinary men’s legs, and with that bearing, it seemed like a single punch from any of them could knock down several strong men.
At that moment, one of the men in workwear spoke up.
He was about 1.8 meters tall, with sharp features, sword-like eyebrows, and starry eyes. His voice was low but carried an unwavering determination: “Yes, if she’s in danger, of course I’m going to save her!”
The other three special forces soldiers nodded heavily and slapped his shoulder with weighty seriousness: “Little sister-in-law has been locked up by the head of the Qierman family. Going in there is basically a death sentence!”
“If she’s in danger, I have to rescue her. Haven’t you forgotten that protecting every citizen is our duty?”
“Besides, she’s her.”
Han Yan’s gaze was resolute. He knew very well that going this time might mean never coming back.
But Su Yu had been his wife from the very start.
As long as Su Yu’s heart remained unchanged, he would resolutely choose her.
“Alright, we won’t try to persuade you anymore.”
One of the men, who looked upright and steady between his brows, handed Han Yan a heavy backpack. His tone was filled with a sense of going all in:
“There’s cash inside. I’ve checked — once you cross the border, it’s a gray zone, no man’s land.”
“The underground city in Wangcheng — with money, you can buy guns.”
Another man added with fierce determination in his eyes: “We trust your marksmanship. When it comes to it, aim straight and take out that devil, Si Yan!”
Han Yan took the backpack, slung it over his shoulder with a swift motion, fingers gripping the strap tightly. His voice was low: “While I’m gone, please take good care of Grandpa.”
“I’m worried… I’m afraid that devil might lay a hand on Yu’er’s grandfather.” The worry in his voice was like a thin needle, tightening hearts.
They had all heard the rumors about Si Yan — ruthless and brutal, sometimes acting without restraint even within the country.
Especially on his own turf.
“Don’t worry. We’ll definitely take care of Grandpa.”
“Xiao Zhou will drive you to the border. He’ll wait for you there for ten days.”
Zhang Yue’s voice dropped, filled with stern finality: “If you don’t come back within ten days, we’ll consider you… already sacrificed.”
“At that point, I’ll report it to the authorities as required.”
Han Yan said nothing, only nodded firmly. His eyes glistened with red in the dim light.
He turned and embraced each of his comrades tightly, every hug heavy with silent trust and reluctance.
After letting go, he didn’t look back. He followed Xiao Zhou, who was waiting nearby, and briskly climbed into the parked SUV.
The door slammed shut with a “bang,” cutting off all the complex gazes behind him.
“Brother Yue, do you think Han Yan can really come back?” asked another man with a slightly fairer complexion, concern evident in his voice.
Zhang Yue chuckled softly: “Maybe, little sister-in-law can break out herself and meet Han Yan to come back together!”
“Really?” The fool next to him obviously believed it.
It was a lie!
Zhang Yue said nothing. The kind of place they were going, if she managed to escape, it would mean Su Yu had a stroke of luck. Even if she survived, she’d be badly battered.
“What if Brother Han is in danger? Should we go save him?”
“Save him!”
Zhang Yue didn’t hesitate. The four of them had fought side by side.
Rescuing their sister-in-law was an unquestionable duty, but they couldn’t all die in there — that would leave no hope at all!
Ten hours later, the SUV stopped just outside the border line.
Han Yan got out and showed his exit permit to the border guards.
Just as he was about to step forward, someone urgently grabbed the hem of his jacket, voice trembling with urgency: “Brother Han, I’m coming with you!”
“No, Zhou Wenwen, you can’t come.”
Han Yan pried off his hand, voice resolute with no room for negotiation:
“You have to stay here and be ready to back me up. That’s the most important thing.”
Zhou Wenwen’s hand froze mid-air, his face heavy with worry, eyes reddening slightly as he gritted his teeth: “Han Yan, listen to me — you must come back alive!”
Han Yan glanced back at him, nodded heavily, and said nothing more. Then he turned and strode forward, never once looking back.
Behind him, Zhou Wenwen’s gaze was like a thread, tightly tethered to his figure until it vanished into the shadows of the border.
On the other side, as Han Yan crossed the border, Si Yan received the news.
At that moment, he was holding Su Yu, curled up on the sofa watching TV.
It was Su Yu’s choice — if she didn’t find ways to keep busy at night, she’d be at the mercy of this pervert in bed.
Si Yan stared at the message on his phone. Since the day he sent Han Yan’s location, he had been waiting for Han Yan to cross the border. He had already issued orders at the border: anyone named Han Yan crossing must be reported to him.
Si Yan guessed that Han Yan had now infiltrated the underground city to get guns.
Of course, if he didn’t arm himself, what right did that useless thing have to fight over a woman with him!
Si Yan had no intention of telling Su Yu yet. He’d wait until he caught Han Yan.
The little treasure would be so “surprised.”
He was also curious how good-looking that useless guy really was, making the little treasure unable to forget him.
Had he even half of Si Yan’s wild, roguish charm?
Han Yan and he were completely different. Han Yan’s looks were proper and dignified.
Si Yan, on the other hand, was full of wild, rebellious energy. But they shared one thing: they were both physically strong.
Su Yu in Si Yan’s arms had no idea what was happening. Before Han Yan even arrived, Si Yan had already started his conquest.
Right now, all she wanted was to figure out how to escape Si Yan’s clutches.
And with her period coming, that was impossible.
This bastard knew exactly when her cycle was due. Only those few days did she get to sleep peacefully.
During those days, Si Yan wouldn’t cling to her too much, because he’d suffer.
Soft and fragrant in his arms but untouchable!
Anyone else would be furious!
As the closing theme song began, right at nine o’clock,
Si Yan snatched the remote from her hands: “Baby, time for bed!”
“Wait, I still want to watch—”
Before she could finish, the TV went black.
The remote was mercilessly tossed onto the sofa by the man.
Su Yu was carried upstairs over his shoulder.
Looking at the soft big bed, her legs went weak.
She gripped the doorframe tightly, refusing to go in.
“I’m not going in! You pervert, all you think about every day is stuff like this!”
Si Yan didn’t care. He threw the stubborn Su Yu onto the bed.
The man pressed down on her, relentless kisses showering her body.
“Good baby, I won’t do anything to you tonight.”
“But you have to kiss me once.”
He puckered his lips, waiting for her kiss.
Su Yu tilted her head back, still a little scared. Usually, he didn’t keep his word.
He said one kiss, but it was really several.
Her soft lips brushed his briefly. Before Si Yan could deepen the kiss,
She wiggled away, diving under the covers and wrapping herself tightly.
Si Yan chuckled softly. No matter how tightly she hid,
Sooner or later, he would tear through all her defenses.
