Si Yan rose from the sofa and turned to look at Huang Yu, his face radiating unmistakable pride and satisfaction. He asked, “Do you notice anything different about me right now?”

Huang Yu was taken aback by the sudden question—what difference? He hadn’t noticed anything at all!

He instinctively scanned Si Yan from head to toe and, mustering courage, replied, “Sir, you seem... exceptionally happy today.”

Si Yan nodded, his smile deepening at the corners of his mouth. “Anything else?”

Seeing the eager anticipation in his eyes, Huang Yu grew even more uncertain and stammered, “Well, there’s also…”

Just then, his gaze inadvertently caught the belt around Si Yan’s waist.

Its design was plain—very plain—definitely not the usual Stefano Ricci he often wore.

A spark of insight lit up in Huang Yu’s mind as he cautiously said, “Sir’s belt… is quite unique.”

No sooner had he spoken than he felt the atmosphere around Si Yan lighten noticeably, and the deep eyes gleamed with an almost startling brightness.

Only then did Huang Yu realize—

No wonder Sir was wearing a belt he wouldn’t even buy himself. It must be a gift from Miss Su.

That explained Sir’s inexplicably good mood today.

“So, shall we keep watching the surveillance footage?” Huang Yu asked softly, eyes on the screen still showing Su Yu and Fei Si·Luo Wei’s conversation.

“It’s almost mealtime,” Si Yan said, clearly having dismissed thoughts of the surveillance. He adjusted his cuffs and headed for the door, his tone tinged with excitement.

“I should go wake my darling up for dinner!”

The man clearly had the answer he sought and left the study with a brisk step to find Su Yu.

Huang Yu watched Si Yan’s retreating figure, shaking his head helplessly as he switched off the monitor—this was hardly the calculating Sir he knew.

Clearly, he was a fool blinded by love.

Men in love were all the same; no matter how shrewd, none could escape it.

Rubbing his chin, Huang Yu sighed inwardly: After all, his ex-girlfriend never gave him anything, yet he had spent nearly a hundred thousand on her…

Before Su Yu was fully awake, Si Yan scooped her up in his arms and carried her downstairs.

Just as she settled at the dining table, the man beside her suddenly stood and stretched his collar, the gesture exaggerated and deliberate.

Huang Yu immediately caught on and stepped forward to flatter him, “Sir, that belt is truly exquisite!”

“The giver must have been filled with deep affection!”

Suddenly, Su Yu’s chopsticks froze mid-air as the round meatball slipped onto the table.

She looked up at Si Yan, who was beaming with pride, his smile stretching wide.

Su Yu couldn’t help but wonder: Was he okay?

Surely, Si Yan had poor eyesight, and Huang Yu must be blind! Deep affection? She felt nothing but overwhelming revulsion toward him.

Couldn’t they see that belt was cheap and tacky?

Su Yu knew very well how expensive the belts Si Yan usually wore were. She had bought this one just to spite him.

How could a wealthy heir like him truly like it? Yet now, Su Yu thought she was mistaken.

Si Yan looked pleased with Huang Yu’s words, the smile lines at his eyes deepening.

Just as the maid beside them was about to chime in, Su Yu slammed her chopsticks on the table and glared at Si Yan, exasperated.

“Si Yan, can you just eat properly?”

He was an adult, yet deliberately flaunting a broken belt—who was he trying to impress?

Seeing Su Yu genuinely upset, Si Yan wisely decided to back down and slunk back beside her.

He scooped her up again, placing her on his lap, his voice tinged with a hint of grievance: “What’s wrong?”

“I’m just showing off the first thing you’ve ever bought me—isn’t that allowed?”

Showing off?

Su Yu stared at the belt around his waist—a mere 199-yuan bargain—and suddenly felt a tightness in her chest, a mixture of emotions she couldn’t quite name.

She reached out to undo the buckle, tugging firmly.

Startled, Si Yan quickly grabbed her hand, his voice tense, “What are you doing?”

Huang Yu, quick and discreet, saw the brewing conflict and hurriedly sent the maid out of the room, then quietly slipped out himself.

“I don’t want it anymore, and now you’re giving it back.”

Su Yu’s voice was low and heavy, her discomfort rising inside her—for just a cheap 199-yuan belt, something he would normally never look twice at.

Yet here he was, foolishly flaunting it.

She pulled hard to free the belt.

Si Yan held the other end tightly, refusing to loosen his grip. “No! Gifts aren’t supposed to be taken back.”

“If I gave it to you, it’s mine now!”

“Give it back!” Su Yu frantically tried to slap his hand off the belt, her fingers pressing with irritation.

Si Yan suddenly caught her wrist, his fingertip brushing her skin gently as he lowered his voice near her ear. “Baby, if you keep moving, my pants might fall off, and you’ll have to be responsible.”

“Put out the fire…”

His voice deepened, warm breath teasing her ear.

Su Yu’s hand froze abruptly. She instinctively relaxed her grip, glaring at him, cheeks flushed with both anger and embarrassment. “You idiot!”

Si Yan chuckled softly, deliberately refastening the belt while his fingers caressed the cold metal buckle.

“Don’t you see?” Su Yu’s tone sharpened, eyes fixed on the cheap belt.

“This one I gave you isn’t even worth a fraction of the belts you used to have! It doesn’t match your status at all!”

“I know.”

Si Yan looked at her with utmost seriousness. “But as long as it’s from my baby, I love it.”

“My identity used to be many things, but now there’s only one—I am your husband, Su Yu’s.”

“How could a belt from you not suit me?”

He took her hand, holding it gently in his palm, his voice soft yet firm. “Anything from you, Su Yu, I’ll cherish and accept without exception.”

“Do you really like it?” Su Yu raised an eyebrow, testing him with a hint of disbelief.

Without hesitation, Si Yan nodded solemnly, his dark eyes shining with sincerity.

“Alright.”

Su Yu snorted and pushed him away playfully.

“Since you like it, then wear this belt whenever you go out, and never change it for the rest of your life.”

“Don’t worry, baby.”

Si Yan pulled her back into his arms, tightening his embrace, a low laugh escaping him.

“I won’t change it even if it wears out.”

Su Yu laughed dryly—worn out and still not changed?

She imagined how the circle would mock him then, wondering if he could still keep up that tough front.

Actually, he would be laughed at starting tomorrow.

Everyone here had eyes like rulers; they could tell the brand of your clothes at a glance and estimate your monthly income.

She turned her face away, hiding a small, mischievous pride and no longer fussing over the belt.

Though it seemed no one dared to mock Si Yan to his face.
