Chapter 28: You have certainly come to the right place!
"You really are! I hope you starve to death!"
Jiang Muqing snorted coldly and pushed his wheelchair away with bitter resentment, looking truly furious.
Jiang Muyu gulped down half a glass of water to steady herself.
She was hungry—genuinely hungry. Every day it was just green vegetables and tofu. She was the one who had to earn money to support the family; how could she survive on that? If she had to perform one more divination, she would faint from hunger right there on the livestream.
The original owner's body was indeed quite frail and couldn't handle her true nature, but she’d have to make do for now until she could settle all this messy business with the Jiang family.
At dinner, Jiang Muyu furiously polished off three bowls of rice.
"I’m announcing the plans for tomorrow. Hu Hu, take everything out of Jiang Muqing’s room and burn it all. Don't leave a single thing behind."
Hu Hu nodded. "Consider it done!"
"Jiang Muqing, the weather looks good tomorrow. You are to weed the small garden until it’s spotless."
Jiang Muqing looked at her in disbelief. "You want me to pull weeds?"
Hu Feng quickly chimed in, "Miss Jiang, look at the Second Young Master's legs... perhaps I should be the one to do the weeding instead?"
While they were talking, Jiang Muyu finished another large bowl of rice. She finally set her bowl down and looked at the three of them. "Uncle Hu, you have other tasks. I want beggar's chicken for lunch tomorrow. Can you roast two? Three would be even better!"
Hu Feng nodded. "Yes, yes, of course! I’ll head to the market first thing tomorrow morning." Miss Jiang had helped the Jiang family so much and even provided her own food money; whatever she wanted to eat, he would certainly make it happen.
As Jiang Muyu rose to leave the table, Hu Hu glanced at the sour-faced Jiang Muqing and raised his hand.
Jiang Muyu paused and looked at him. "Hu Hu, what is it?"
"Great-Aunt, you’ve assigned tasks to all of us, but what about you? What are you going to do?"
"I’m going to sleep."
"..."
That evening, Jiang Muyu started her livestream right on time.
"Good evening, my darlings! It’s been three hours—did you miss me? Do you want a reading? Don't just think about it, act on it!"
- [Good evening, Little Feather!]
- [Little Feather is so hardworking, two streams in one day!]
- [Great, I can watch this from the comfort of my bed.]
Jiang Muyu felt helpless. Wasn't she doing this just to make money? When her older brother was around, she lived a life of luxury and only helped people with their problems when she felt like it. But look at her now—she was the only one in the house capable of earning a living...
Wait, didn't Jiang Muqing have other siblings? She should ask Hu Feng tomorrow if they could drag one of them back to do some manual labor.
She flashed a bright smile, hoping for a generous "Big Boss" to drop by...
No "Big Boss" appeared, but a rather foul character did.
*Never Weep*: [Accept my call! If you have the guts to scam me, have the guts to connect with me!]
*Never Weep*: [You scammer, I hope you die a miserable death!]
- [???]
- [Who is this? Does he have a grudge against the streamer?]
- [Hey, didn't this person come for a reading this afternoon? The ID looks familiar.]
- [Is the streamer a scammer? Surely not?]
Jiang Muyu hadn't wanted to accept the call, but she couldn't let him slander her in the chat. What if someone believed him and stopped coming to her for readings?
She clicked to accept the call. The next second, *Never Weep* appeared on the screen, immediately launching into a tirade.
"You bitch! You scammed me! Didn't you say my girlfriend was here? I drove around in circles to get to this place, and what do I find? It’s a mental hospital! Forget people—there isn't even a bird in sight!"
*Never Weep* flipped his camera. The viewers saw nothing but pitch-black darkness, a dilapidated gate, and overgrown weeds. Aside from that, there was nothing.
- [Whoa, buddy, you've got guts. Going to a place like that in the middle of the night...]
- [Isn't this the start of a horror movie? I'm scared, I'm going under my covers.]
- [Bro, get out of there! You shouldn't stay in a place like that!]
*Never Weep* kept yelling: "Speak up! You had the nerve to tell me to come here, now you’re speechless? I’m reporting your channel! You actually tricked me into coming to this dump!"
The man thought about how he had rushed out, spent time and effort to reach this city, and recalled the reactions of the taxi driver and passersby when he gave them the address... This streamer had done it on purpose! She had intentionally played him, forcing him to come to this godforsaken place.
Jiang Muyu looked aggrieved. "Stop shouting. In all the days I've been streaming, I've never once given a wrong reading. May the heavens judge who is honest and who is deceitful!"
"Look at the name of the hospital behind you. Isn't it a mental hospital? Doesn't it perfectly match your mental state? Are you still not satisfied? Let me tell you, a patient like you wouldn't be accepted by a regular hospital. I went through the trouble of picking one that suits your condition, and you’re still complaining."
She shook her head and wiped away a non-existent tear. "Streaming is just too hard!"
- [Don't cry, Little Feather. People like him don't appreciate kindness—he deserves it!]
- [End the call, kick him out of the room!]
- [Just a passerby here, but isn't the streamer being a bit harsh? Going to an abandoned mental hospital is actually really scary.]
- [To the person above, you didn't see the afternoon stream. This guy is a domestic abuser who forced his girlfriend to have an abortion. Now he wants to win her back and even wants the child back. He’s clearly mentally unstable. The streamer did the right thing.]
- [Poor streamer, you should check who you're connecting with in the future so you don't get bitten by a dog again.]
*Never Weep*: ???
He roared: "Can't you see this woman is acting? She did it on purpose! She tricked me into coming here, I'm the victim!"
Jiang Muyu looked up at him, saying earnestly, "If that's what you think, sir, there's nothing I can do. I hope you get proper treatment for your condition in the coming days. If you have any more problems, feel free to come back to my stream."
With that, she hung up the call.
"Darlings, even though this gentleman’s attitude wasn't great, if he needs my help again in the future, I’ll still accept his request."
As she said this, she flicked her mouse and added *Never Weep* to her blacklist. In this day and age, with the internet being so developed, there were more and more bizarre people out there.
['A Bowl of Egg Fried Rice' sent Carnival x1]
Jiang Muyu immediately perked up. "Thank you for the Carnival, Egg Fried Rice! Thank you so much! I see your request, and I've accepted it!"
- [The speed at which Little Feather changes her expression is invincible!]
- [If only I were rich, I'd love to send gifts to Little Feather every day...]
- [I've been watching for a while, I'm going to follow the streamer.]
- [Let me see what kind of fun this will be...]
The connection was established. Jiang Muyu looked at the young woman on the other side of the screen, who looked rather distressed.
"Good evening, Egg Fried Rice. What is it you would like me to divine for you?"
