Chapter 36: It’s Time to Officially Incorporate the Team

At precisely four in the afternoon, the distinctive chimes rang out once more in the trading hall next door, marking another important milestone in the day’s trading session.
Lin Haoran stretched his arms leisurely, satisfaction written all over his face as he reflected on the day’s results.
Although Su Zhixue had yet to compile and present the detailed statistics, Lin, who had witnessed the entire operation firsthand, already had a clear assessment. Compared with the previous day, today’s results had improved by leaps and bounds.
Their performance had been especially smooth in the battle to acquire low-priced shares of Wharf Holdings. Like helmsmen riding the waves, they had seized each opportunity to buy with precision and force.
Yesterday, whenever they spotted what appeared to be easily obtainable sell orders, their rivals had beaten them to the punch just as they were locking onto their targets and preparing to act. The frustration and helplessness of that experience still rankled.
Today, however, that sense of oppression and pent-up frustration had greatly diminished, replaced by relief and exhilaration.
The transformation was undoubtedly the result of the team’s increased size and strength.
Lin Haoran understood that the new additions were like fresh blood flowing into the organization, bringing renewed vitality to every part of the team.
What pleased him even more was that Dai Shi’s ability to manipulate the market was on par with Su Zhixue’s.
With two expert traders fighting side by side, their strategies complemented each other, while their execution created a powerful combined force that propelled the entire trading team toward loftier goals.
That understanding and strength had unquestionably been the cornerstone of their excellent performance today.
At that moment, Lin Haoran could not help feeling a twinge of regret. He wondered privately why he had not foreseen the need to expand the team—and acted on it—sooner.
Unfortunately, he had been overly cautious, afraid that his plans might be exposed.
If he had decisively recruited more people a month earlier, today’s results would undoubtedly have been even more brilliant, and their achievements might already have far surpassed their current level.
Yet he also knew very well that life offered no second chances, and there was no remedy for regret.
Though this regret was like a breeze brushing across a lake and sending ripples through the water, it also made him cherish the results before him and the team’s efforts all the more.

He also realized that it was precisely these repeated challenges and reflections that drove them forward, pushing them toward ever higher goals.
Lin Haoran therefore quickly adjusted his mindset, transforming his regret into motivation for the road ahead.
“President Lin, I’ve just finished compiling the figures, and I’m ready to give you a detailed report. With Green Island Cement, we successfully acquired 648,000 shares at an average price of approximately 5.16 Hong Kong dollars per share, for a total expenditure of around 3.34 million Hong Kong dollars. Compared with yesterday, these results demonstrate the steady position we have established in the stock.
“As for Wharf Holdings, today’s acquisition process was particularly smooth. In the end, we successfully acquired 135,000 shares at an average transaction price of 25.29 Hong Kong dollars per share, bringing the total expenditure to approximately 3.41 million Hong Kong dollars. Most notably, compared with yesterday, the amount of Wharf Holdings shares we acquired today was more than double yesterday’s figure. That is truly an encouraging result.”
Su Zhixue had finished organizing the day’s data and delivered his report in a clear and orderly manner.
A satisfied smile appeared on Lin Haoran’s face as he listened.
He knew that Green Island Cement’s modest rise was a promising sign, but the substantial acquisition of Wharf Holdings was the true highlight of the day.
It not only reflected the accuracy of the team’s strategy, but also proved that the addition of new personnel had significantly improved their execution and market sensitivity.
“Excellent. Zhixue, Daishi, everyone performed extremely well today. There’s something else I want to mention. This temporary office is clearly no longer large enough for us. Once the other three members arrive, we obviously won’t be able to fit everyone in here. To meet the development needs of our team, I’ll start looking for a more spacious office as soon as possible.
“You two can leave early today. But starting tomorrow, we’ll gradually formalize our operations and follow normal company hours: work begins at nine in the morning and ends at six in the evening. Does anyone have any objections to this arrangement?” Lin Haoran said with a smile.
He had quietly made up his mind. It was time to formally turn the team into a company, and the plan to register one had already been placed on the agenda.
“President Lin, I have no problem with that at all!” Su Zhixue replied earnestly. “Over the past month, you’ve taken my family situation into consideration and allowed me to leave early every day to care for my son. I’m deeply grateful. He has recovered very well now, so I’m fully able to keep regular hours and support the team’s new schedule. Thank you sincerely for all the consideration you’ve shown me.”
Dai Shi also smiled and voiced his agreement. “That’s right, President Lin. This arrangement is perfectly reasonable. We have no objections whatsoever. It’s simply a normal working schedule.”
“Good. Since no one has any objections, you can both leave early,” Lin Haoran said with a nod.
After Su Zhixue and Dai Shi departed, Lin Haoran sat quietly at his desk, gripping the latest data report Su Zhixue had given him.
These figures, together with the records accumulated previously, clearly revealed an astonishing fact: as of today, he had invested as much as 51.67 million Hong Kong dollars in the stock market.

At that moment, the balance in his account had quietly fallen below the warning line of 30 million Hong Kong dollars.
Despite this, Lin Haoran felt neither anxious nor uneasy.
On the contrary, satisfaction and anticipation gleamed in his eyes.
Driven by those funds, they had successfully accumulated 7.586 million shares of Green Island Cement and 582,000 shares of Wharf Holdings.
Such holdings not only demonstrated the team’s keen insight and formidable execution in the market, but also foreshadowed potentially substantial returns in the future.
After returning the data reports to his desk drawer, Lin Haoran rose and left the office, already making new plans.
Today, instead of leaving the bustling Central district immediately, he took his two bodyguards, Li Weiguo and Li Weidong, and walked to a large secondhand property brokerage nearby.
His purpose was clear and direct: to find a suitable office space. This time, however, he was considering buying rather than renting.
As a time traveler possessing a prophet’s perspective, Lin Haoran knew the future trajectory of Hong Kong’s property market as well as if he had lived through it himself.
He understood that although the market might experience turbulence or even a collapse like that of 1983, Hong Kong’s property market would always recover quickly and go on to develop with even greater vigor.
That ability to see into the future made him realize that, in the long run, investing in property could bring countless benefits and no real harm.
If his funds had not been limited at present, he would even have considered buying an entire building to serve as his headquarters.
Of course, that was only a matter of time.
Lin Haoran believed that before long, he would own a commercial building entirely of his own.
