Chapter 36: The Malignant Cloud Poison Master, Vengeance Through One's Own Flesh

Jiang Chen remained expressionless, ignoring the threat posed by Gao Zhihui’s dual identity.
He had crippled the leader of the Bloodscale Mercenary Group and killed a martial arts grandmaster from the Ten Thousand Poisons Sect. A threat like this meant nothing to him.
He searched Gao Zhihui and found a considerable number of drugs: poisons, aphrodisiacs, sedatives... but not a single antidote.
“Why don’t you have an antidote?”
Jiang Chen planted one foot on Gao Zhihui’s chest and demanded the answer, killing intent radiating from him.
“Cough... Don’t kill me! My master taught me how to prepare all those drugs. I don’t know the formula for an antidote. You can neutralize the aphrodisiac by sleeping with Chu Yan!”
Jiang Chen’s foot crushed Gao Zhihui until he coughed up blood. Sensing the terrifying killing intent emanating from Jiang Chen, Gao Zhihui was utterly petrified.
He had lied about possessing an antidote earlier. His plan had been to drug Chu Yan into unconsciousness. Although the aphrodisiac would then damage her mind, as long as he tricked Jiang Chen into crippling one of his own legs, he would have been able to escape.
Crack!
Jiang Chen crushed Gao Zhihui’s heart with one stomp. His entire chest caved in, and he died with blood spilling from his mouth, his eyes still wide open.
If Jiang Chen had known Gao Zhihui had no antidote, he would have begun slaughtering them long ago. He had wasted precious time questioning him.
At that moment, Old Master Chu and Chu Lihan were unconscious from poisoning, while Chu Yan, Yao Bing, Zheng Lijuan, and Chu Yuting were all burning with fever and moaning under the effects of the aphrodisiac.
Jiang Chen had no way to save so many people in such a short time. Old Master Chu had been poisoned most severely and was in the greatest danger, so Jiang Chen immediately rushed over, took out his silver needles, and began treating him with acupuncture while circulating his true energy.
Driven mad by the drug, Yao Bing unleashed the full strength of a martial arts master. The ropes had cut into her wrists until they bled, yet she seemed completely unaware of it. With sheer force, she finally snapped them apart.
When she tore away the ropes binding her, she ripped open all her clothes as well. The movements of her hands grew wilder, and the sounds escaping her mouth became louder...
Hearing the commotion, Jiang Chen glanced over. He nearly drove one of the needles into Old Master Chu incorrectly. The sight before him was so provocative that it left nothing to the imagination.
“Yao Bing, wake up! If you can break the ropes, you should be able to control yourself!”
Jiang Chen looked away and sent his voice, infused with true energy, into Yao Bing’s ears, hoping to bring her back to her senses.
Instead, Yao Bing was drawn to his voice. She walked over and wrapped her arms around Jiang Chen from behind, causing his entire body to stiffen.
“Give it to me... Hurry...”
Yao Bing clawed at Jiang Chen’s clothes, leaving scratches and teeth marks across his body.
Once she regained consciousness, would she die of shame and humiliation if she remembered what she had done to the man she had always looked down on?
Jiang Chen was nearly driven mad himself. He hastened his acupuncture treatment on Old Master Chu, unable to spare even a hand. Yao Bing was truly taking advantage of him in his moment of helplessness.
Bang!
Seeing that Yao Bing was about to lose all restraint, Jiang Chen had no choice but to release a burst of true energy from his back and send her flying.

Yao Bing crashed down beside Chu Yan and locked onto her, since Chu Yan was suffering from the same fever. She began tearing at the ropes and clothes covering Chu Yan. The ropes had yet to snap, but her clothes were already in tatters.
Jiang Chen glanced over to make sure Yao Bing had not been injured by his strike, only to see Chu Yan exposed to the air. The scene was even more provocative.
What was this supposed to be?
Worse still, neither Yao Bing nor Chu Yan could expel the drugs from their bodies. Their organs were beginning to fail. Blood was already flowing from Yao Bing’s nose and mouth, and Chu Yan would be next.
After suppressing the poison in Old Master Chu’s body and pulling him out of immediate danger, Jiang Chen hurried over to help Chu Yan and Yao Bing.
With no time to worry about propriety, he forced Yao Bing down onto the ground and inserted the silver needles into her.
When Jiang Chen untied Chu Yan and prepared to treat her with acupuncture, Chu Yan broke free and lunged at him, leaving lipstick marks and teeth marks across his body.
If he had not been afraid of hurting her, Jiang Chen could have sent her flying with a burst of true energy. After all, Chu Yan was not a martial arts master, and she was also his wife.
From Old Master Chu to Yao Bing and Chu Yan, then to Chu Lihan, Zheng Lijuan, and Chu Yuting, Jiang Chen worked without pause. He either neutralized their poison or purged the drugs from their bodies until he was utterly exhausted.
Jiang Chen lay on the ground, drenched in sweat. Anyone who did not know the truth might have thought he had spent the entire time in bed with them.
Before any of them regained consciousness, Cao Moring and her daughter Linghu Xin arrived at full speed with members of the Linghu Sect. The one-armed Bloodscale was with them as well.
“Mr. Jiang, are you all right?”
Seeing Jiang Chen lying on the ground, Cao Moring and Linghu Xin hurried over to check on him.
“I’m fine.”
Jiang Chen waved a hand and slowly rose to his feet.
“Mr. Jiang... Are those lipstick marks on your face and neck?”
Linghu Xin stared at him in astonishment.
“Are they? Well... someone had been poisoned and lost her senses. She bit people while I was treating her with acupuncture, and I was accidentally bitten.”
Embarrassed, Jiang Chen quickly wiped the lipstick marks from his face and neck.
Linghu Xin noticed that Jiang Chen’s coat was covering Chu Yan. She did not need to think long to realize that Chu Yan had bitten him. For some reason, she suddenly felt an urge to be poisoned herself.
“Master Cao, Miss Linghu, please help me take them back to the Chu residence.”
Jiang Chen changed the subject and turned to the matter at hand.
“Blood Butcher?! Strategist?!”
Bloodscale’s cry rang out when he saw the corpses of Blood Butcher and Gao Zhihui.
“If you want to join them in death, I can send you on your way.”

Jiang Chen shifted his cold gaze to Bloodscale.
“No! I don’t want to! They got what they deserved. They deserved to die a thousand deaths!”
Terrified, Bloodscale shook his head frantically and tried to distance himself from them. Hoping to redeem himself, he hurriedly added, “Mr. Jiang, my strategist—no, Gao Zhihui—his master was the Evil Cloud Poison Master of the Ten Thousand Poisons Sect. You must beware of the sect’s revenge...”
“What did you say? The Evil Cloud Poison Master? Where is he?”
Cao Moring suddenly seized Bloodscale by the throat. Her emotions flared as she shouted, her face filled with murderous intent.
“I don’t know! I only heard it from Gao Zhihui...”
Bloodscale struggled to breathe, feeling as though Cao Moring was about to choke him to death.
“What exactly did he say?”
Cao Moring tightened her grip around his throat and demanded an answer.
“He said he once saved the injured Evil Cloud Poison Master’s life by chance. Seeing that he possessed a talent for poisoncraft, the Evil Cloud Poison Master accepted him as a disciple and taught him poison formulas and cultivation techniques. I was able to break through to the intermediate level of martial arts grandmaster because of the cultivation technique he gave me!”
Bloodscale answered truthfully. That was also why Gao Zhihui had become the strategist of the Bloodscale Mercenary Group.
“The Evil Cloud Poison Master was injured? Where is he? I’m going to kill him!”
Cao Moring grew even more agitated. Her eyes burned with hatred and murderous intent as she nearly strangled Bloodscale.
“I... I truly don’t know... Perhaps he’s in the Ten Thousand Poisons Sect... I don’t even know where the sect is...”
Bloodscale’s voice became broken and faint. His face had turned purple as he struggled on the verge of suffocation.
In the end, Cao Moring regained her composure and refrained from killing him. He might still prove useful.
Thud! Thud!
Cao Moring then dropped to her knees before Jiang Chen, and Linghu Xin knelt beside her.
“Master Cao, what are you doing?”
Jiang Chen asked in confusion, reaching out to help the mother and daughter rise.
“Mr. Jiang, please help me avenge my husband! Linghu Feng was poisoned to death by the Evil Cloud Poison Master!”
Cao Moring’s eyes were bloodshot as she pleaded with Jiang Chen. “I once swore that whoever helped me avenge him would become my husband.”
“Mr. Jiang may not be interested in me, so I am willing to marry my daughter to you instead. We beg you to kill the Evil Cloud Poison Master and avenge us both.”
