Chapter 12: Do You Take Me for a Fool?
Within twenty minutes, Liu Zhenhua arrived with over twenty men, looking menacing. Having been involved in the underworld since his teens, Liu’s reputation in Jiangcheng was built entirely on his fists. The scar on his face was his trademark, giving him an exceptionally fierce appearance. Seeing this scene, Tang Qinghua pulled nervously at Tang Xuan’s sleeve. "Maybe we should pick a different place?"
"Who? Who dares to bully my woman?" With her husband backing her, the fat woman grew even more arrogant, pointing at Tang Xuan. "It’s him, the blind dog who insists on snatching the house I have my eye on." She then walked over to Yu Xin and slapped her across the face. "You vixen, weren't you looking down on me just now? Why aren't you saying anything now?"
The slap was completely unprovoked; she simply couldn't stand seeing a woman more beautiful than herself. Furthermore, Yu Xin had never once said anything to look down on her.
Yang Tong sneered, "Yu Xin, my clients are big shots in Jiangcheng. What do you have to compare with me?" Yu Xin was fuming, but since the other party was not someone a minor sales clerk could afford to offend, she had to swallow her grievances.
Liu Zhenhua had his men surround Tang Xuan and Yu Xin. "Buddy, do you know who I am?"
Tang Xuan waved his hand dismissively. "I saw this place first, and I’ve already decided to buy it. Your wife is the one insisting on fighting me for it."
Liu Zhenhua laughed and pointed at his lackeys. "Do you think I came here to reason with you?"
"Oh?" Tang Xuan raised an eyebrow. "Not here to reason? Then shall we talk with our fists instead?"
Hearing this, the fat woman grew excited. "Husband, cripple him! Let him know the consequences of provoking me. And that woman—make her kneel and apologize to me!"
Yu Xin’s expression turned grim; she had done nothing wrong, so why should she apologize? Yang Tong walked over to Yu Xin and whispered, "Come to my place for a simple meal tonight, and I might put in a good word for you."
A flash of cold resolve crossed Yu Xin’s eyes. She knew exactly what Yang Tong was after. "I’d rather give myself to a stray dog on the street than to you."
Yang Tong gritted his teeth. "Yu Xin, you ungrateful bitch. Do you think I won't have her order these men to drag you away with just a few words? If you fall into their hands, you can imagine what the consequences will be."
Yu Xin looked at Tang Xuan. Her only hope rested with him. If Tang Xuan could deal with Liu Zhenhua, she would be safe. She didn't believe that someone with a billion in cash on their card could be just an ordinary person.
Yang Tong chuckled. "You don't think he can save you, do you? This is Liu Zhenhua; half the underworld has to show him respect."
Liu Zhenhua rolled up his sleeves, ready to go all out against Tang Xuan. Just then, Huang Ying walked into the villa, seemingly there to look at properties as well. The moment Tang Xuan saw her, his smile vanished, replaced by an icy expression.
Huang Ying was surprised to see him. "What are you doing here? Are you here to buy a house too?"
Seeing Tang Xuan remain silent, staring at her coldly, she continued, "I’m here to buy a house. I’ve been wanting to move out of the family home. It’s such a coincidence that we’re looking at the same development—we must be destined to meet."
Hearing him say this, Huang Ying smiled. "Yes, we truly are."
Suddenly, Tang Xuan grabbed Huang Ying by the throat, lifting her off the ground with one hand. Huang Ying stared at him in terror, unable to understand why the man who had been smiling moments ago had suddenly changed.
This scene stunned Liu Zhenhua. He knew who Huang Ying was, and the moment he saw her, he knew something had gone terribly wrong. If he was connected to the Huang family, this young man was certainly no ordinary person. He had been considering how to apologize to Tang Xuan, but he never expected this sudden turn. And this was Huang Ying—a member of the Huang family! He actually dared to lay a hand on her.
Liu Zhenhua was frantic. "Brother, what are you doing? Let her go! That’s Huang Ying!"
Yu Xin and Yang Tong were paralyzed. He didn't seem to care about Huang Ying at all. "It seems my client is even more formidable than yours," Yu Xin said. "How was it you treated him earlier?"
Yang Tong broke into a cold sweat. He realized that if the man dared to touch Huang Ying, a mere Liu Zhenhua was nothing.
Just as Huang Ying was on the verge of suffocation, Tang Xuan released his grip. Huang Ying gasped greedily for fresh air; she had truly thought she was going to die.
"Do you think I'm an idiot in the eyes of the Huang family?" Tang Xuan’s voice was bone-chilling. Huang Ying shook her head in panic.
"You deliberately had this fat woman cause trouble for me, so you could step in and 'solve' it, hoping to make me feel grateful to the Huang family? Do you underestimate my power, or do you take me for a fool? Do you think I can't see through such a low-level tactic?"
From the moment Huang Ying appeared, Tang Xuan knew it was a setup. There was no such thing as a coincidence in this world. He was furious because the Tang family looked down on his intelligence so much that they thought such a petty scheme could deceive him. It was laughable.
"I previously thought you weren't just a pretty face, but it turns out you’re nothing but a fool."
Liu Zhenhua walked over to the fat woman and asked grimly, "What is going on?"
The fat woman instinctively glanced at Huang Ying. Everything was exactly as Tang Xuan had said. She had just been out shopping when Huang Ying arranged for her to do this. She had thought she could use this to get in with the Huang family, but now it was all ruined.
"Husband, I did this for your own good—"
*Smack!* Liu Zhenhua delivered a heavy slap to the fat woman’s face. He wasn't afraid of smart people doing stupid things; he was afraid of fools acting on "clever" ideas. She had invited a catastrophe. Although Liu didn't know who Tang Xuan was, anyone who dared to treat Huang Ying this way was clearly someone not to be trifled with.
Walking up to Tang Xuan, Liu Zhenhua bowed his head. "Brother, my woman is ignorant. I beg for your forgiveness."
Tang Qinghua didn't fully understand the situation, only thinking, *This is awesome.* It was so impressive, so prestigious. He stood beside Tang Xuan, involuntarily straightening his back. "My son—that’s my son!"
Tang Xuan rolled his eyes helplessly. *Dad, could you please not embarrass me like this?*
Just then, Huang Ying did something shocking. She knelt down.
Liu Zhenhua was terrified. The fat woman collapsed to the floor with a thud. Yu Xin and Yang Tong felt their legs turn to jelly, barely able to remain standing.
