Chapter 36: Little Xuanzi Has Learned to Walk!
"Indeed," Wei Feng conceded generously. He was not merely speaking idly; he already had a plan in place.
Huang Long sighed, shaking his head helplessly. "You are leading the Wei family into a pit of fire. I can tell you now, you have absolutely no chance of succeeding in your revenge."
Wei Feng replied with disdain, "No matter how strong he is, can he be stronger than the Sun family?"
Liu Ling’s eyes glinted with a sharp light. Although she had suffered a miserable fate, the thought of Tang Xuan meeting the same end brought her a sense of satisfaction. If the Wei family could get the Sun family involved, Tang Xuan would surely meet a tragic end. "I am willing to pay any price, as long as I can avenge Wei Li."
Seeing Wei Feng’s absolute confidence, Huang Long could not help but laugh out loud. "Do you know how Li Qin died?"
Wei Feng shook his head. The incident had happened so suddenly that no one in all of Jiangcheng knew the reason.
"He killed him. And he did it with a single palm strike right in front of Li Meng."
"How is that possible!" Wei Feng stood up abruptly. If he had killed Li Qin, how could he still be alive? Was Li Meng a coward? Why had he not avenged his own father?
"Are you joking with me? If he killed Li Qin, why didn't Li Meng seek revenge?"
Huang Long waved his hand dismissively. "You think Li Meng didn't want revenge? He simply didn't have the qualifications to seek it. He didn't just kill Li Qin; he killed all hundred of the Li family’s hired thugs. The foundation of the Li family has been completely destroyed by him."
Wei Feng refused to believe it. "Nonsense, you must be spouting gibberish."
Huang Long stood up. "I’m leaving." He knew that saying anything more was useless. Only when Wei Feng crashed and burned would he believe that what he said was true.
A few days later, the Huang family held a funeral. Huang Long had died after all. Even though Huang Ying had stepped forward to plead with Tang Xuan, it was to no avail. Huang Ying felt resentment, but not much, for she knew that such feelings were useless. She could not exact revenge, nor was she qualified to do so.
One month later, on a certain night, Tang Qinghua suddenly let out a terrified scream from his room, followed immediately by You Zhen’s panicked cries.
Tang Xuan and Zhao Ran hurried to their room. "What happened?"
Zhao Ran covered her mouth, trying her best to suppress a scream. The two-month-old baby, Xiao Xuanzi, was walking on the floor!
"This... how is this possible?" Tang Qinghua’s eyes were filled with the look of someone who had seen a ghost. "He is only two months old! How could he possibly walk on his own?"
Only Tang Xuan knew this was normal. Although Xiao Xuanzi was only two months old, his body had been tempered by the Yellow Dragon Qi over the past two months, and his physical state far exceeded that of an ordinary person. Merely walking was nothing compared to leaping over walls; what was there to be so surprised about?
"Have you forgotten what I told you? He is a heaven-sent prodigy who will become the world's strongest one day. This is just the manifestation of his talent; it is inevitable that he would be different from ordinary people."
Despite Tang Xuan’s words, Tang Qinghua and You Zhen remained uneasy. Fearing that something was wrong with the baby’s health, they insisted on taking him to the hospital for an examination at daybreak.
At first, the doctor did not believe that a two-month-old infant could walk, but his eyes widened once he saw Xiao Xuanzi bouncing around the floor with his own eyes. Not only had he never seen such a thing in all his years of medical practice, but it had never occurred in the entire history of humanity!
The doctor performed several physical check-ups, and while the vital signs were normal, he discovered a serious issue. "The child’s physical health is fine, but his eyes are vacant and lifeless, as if he lacks a soul."
The doctor was right about the lack of a soul, for Xiao Xuanzi was currently nothing more than an empty vessel.
You Zhen was extremely nervous upon hearing this. "Doctor, what does that mean?"
"I mean, he may face some intellectual challenges in the future."
You Zhen was so frightened that she could barely stand.
"Wife, my wife," Tang Qinghua said, his own legs trembling as he rushed to support her. Both of them had considered the possibility that Xiao Xuanzi might be a late bloomer, but they had never imagined he might have intellectual disabilities.
Tang Xuan suddenly realized a problem. Xiao Xuanzi’s lack of consciousness would persist for a long time. After all, his divine consciousness could not return to Xiao Xuanzi’s body in such a short period. This meant that Tang Qinghua and You Zhen would be tormented by this issue for a long time, which would be a devastating blow to their mental state.
The only solution was to take Xiao Xuanzi with him and leave Jiangcheng. He had already prepared an excuse: Xiao Xuanzi possessed extraordinary talent, and he was taking him away to focus on martial arts training. But before that, he had to stabilize the power structure of Jiangcheng and build a powerful backing for Tang Qinghua and his wife to ensure they would never be bullied by anyone in the city.
After leaving the hospital, You Zhen’s tears would not stop. Tang Xuan comforted her, "Don’t listen to the doctor’s nonsense. He will be the strongest person in the world; he cannot be intellectually disabled. It is simply not yet time for his wisdom to awaken."
You Zhen said nothing. It was not that she did not believe Tang Xuan, but looking at Xiao Xuanzi’s hollow gaze, she simply did not know how to believe him.
After dropping them off at home, Tang Xuan called Zhang Qi. "Sister, what are you doing?"
For the past month, Zhang Qi had been busy seizing territory with Liu Zhenhua. Aside from those backed by the Sun family, they had seized control of most of the forces in the Jiangcheng underworld.
"I’m free, as long as you need me, I have time. But let’s be clear, it’s not because you want to sleep with me that I have time." She always spoke so bluntly, which left Tang Xuan feeling quite helpless.
"Sister, come pick me up."
"Alright."
In less than ten minutes, Zhang Qi arrived at Luhu Tianjing in her car. Liu Zhenhua was with her. "Master Tang."
Zhang Qi explained helplessly, "He insisted on coming along, saying he hadn't seen you, his idol, for a long time. Where are we going?"
"The Li family."
Hearing the name of the Li family, Zhang Qi’s heart skipped a beat. Li Meng had not contacted her for the past month, and she had been secretly grateful, hoping that he would forget all about her. To be asked to go straight to their doorstep made her very reluctant. "Why are we going to the Li family?"
Tang Xuan said, "I may be leaving Jiangcheng for a long time, so I need to stabilize your position here. Once I’m gone, my friends will have to rely on your protection. I don't want them to be bullied by anyone."
Stabilize their position. Ensure they aren't bullied by anyone. These words made Zhang Qi realize the situation was far from simple. To ensure no one could bully them, they would essentially have to take over the Sun family as well!
