104. Xia Anran Was Taken Away

Ji Shen seized Li Hua by the collar and hurled him into the dark room. From inside came one muffled groan after another.

Half an hour later, Li Hua staggered out with a face swollen black and blue. Blood had been beaten from his cheeks. At last, he confessed everything clearly: someone had been behind it all.

That person had paid him five hundred thousand to ram Wen Shuang and leave her crippled, so she would never dance again.

At the Xia residence, the Qin family had arrived as well, and the two families were discussing the marriage of Qin You and Xia Anran.

But then he thought of the Qin family's future.

Xia Anran threw herself into Qin You's arms in bliss. "I love you too, Brother Qin!"

Yesterday, after learning that Wen Shuang had been sent to the hospital after being hit, she had been nearly mad with joy.

"Our Ranran is so delicate and weak, how could she possibly have done anything wrong? Ji Shen, you must have made a mistake!" Mrs. Xia said angrily. "I think you are deliberately making things difficult for our Xia family!"

"Why arrest you?" Ji Shen's narrow eyes filled with a fierce frost. "Three days ago, you hired a man named Li Hua in the north of the city and had him ride a motorcycle to break Wen Shuang's legs. Li Hua has already confessed, and the money you transferred to him, although it was laundered in advance through an overseas card, has still been traced back to you. Xia Anran, the witness and the evidence are both here. What else do you have to argue?"

But Qin You no longer had eyes for her.

His mind kept turning on the thought that Wen Shuang's legs had actually been broken and she was in the hospital now. She must be in great pain and sorrow.

Xia Hanyan also knew his younger sister's temperament all too well, and did not continue to obstruct them.

He believed Ji Shen, as a police officer, would investigate everything clearly.

Mr. and Mrs. Xia were hysterical.

Ji Shen ignored everyone in the Xia family and took Xia Anran straight back to the bureau, where he locked her in the interrogation room.
