“What?” Qin Yu asked in surprise.

Qing Li turned to Qin Yu and said, “Yu’er, I sense that the base is about to face a bloody battle. The top priority is to prepare defenses and get ready for combat. Go gather your team so we can discuss this.”

Qin Yu nodded without hesitation, trusting Qing Li completely. She said, “I’ll go right away.” Then she stood up, ready to leave.

Qing Li also stood and said, “I’ll go with you. I don’t feel comfortable letting you go alone.”

“Okay,” Qin Yu replied. The two of them then headed toward Qin Yu’s villa.

When they arrived, Zhao Meng, Wang Bing, and the others were in the middle of a discussion. Seeing Qing Li and Qin Yu, smiles spread across their faces.

Qin Yu ignored their expressions and spoke solemnly, “We have something important to discuss with you.”

Zhao Meng and the others noticed Qin Yu’s serious demeanor and immediately straightened up. “Xiao Yu, what’s going on?”

Qin Yu was about to speak when Qing Li interrupted, “Let’s talk at my place. It’s not safe here.” The group exchanged glances, instantly understanding the gravity of the situation, and grew serious.

At first, Qin Yu was startled, but then she reasoned that many were likely monitoring her location. To avoid unnecessary panic, it made sense to move to Qing Li’s villa. After all, his place was certainly safer than hers. With that thought, she felt at ease.

So, Zhao Meng and several squad leaders, along with Xia Cheng and Zhao Meng, followed Qing Li to his villa. Observers would note that Qing Li had clearly taken Qin Yu’s team under his wing, easing their worries somewhat.

Upon arrival, they saw Xue Qi and others already seated on the villa’s sofa. When Qing Li arrived, they rose and greeted him, “Boss!”

Qin Yu smiled and said, “Brother Li, no need to keep us in suspense. The important thing is what’s happening!”

Qing Li nodded and said, “I sense an unusual aura approaching the base. I suspect it’s hostile. That’s why I gathered you—to warn you and to make necessary defensive preparations.”

Everyone inhaled sharply. A stalemate? That meant this adversary must be incredibly powerful! They all knew how formidable their leader Qing Li was.

Zhao Meng took a deep breath and asked, “When do you think it will arrive?”

Qing Li looked at Zhao Meng appreciatively and said, “Judging by the speed of its aura, roughly a week.”

“A week? That doesn’t leave us much time!” Xia Cheng said.

“Indeed. So what should we do?” Wang Bing asked.

All eyes turned to Qing Li. Feeling their gaze, he coolly asked, “What do you think we should do?”

The room fell silent for a moment before Zhao Meng broke it, “Warn everyone at the base to prepare defenses. Replenish our weapons and ammunition. We must not waste the use of our abilities. Anything else?”

They exchanged looks, and then Ji Shuo spoke up, “If we recklessly tell everyone about this terrifying thing, it will surely cause panic. Then it will be difficult to control the situation.”

“Exactly. So maybe we warn them subtly, keeping everyone alert without causing hysteria,” Xia Cheng added.

“Hmm, but who will handle this?” Feng Ji glanced around.

“Our squad can do it. We’ve done this kind of thing more than once,” Ji Shuo said.

“Good. Then the warning will be your responsibility, with Feng Ji assisting,” Qing Li said at the right moment.

Only a flushed Qin Yu remained. “Yu’er looks so adorable like this. Haha,” Qing Li said in good spirits.

“Alright, no more teasing. But you do have something you want to ask me, don’t you?” Qing Li smiled.

Qin Yu nodded and asked, “Where did you get that packet of crystal cores?”

Qing Li made a face as if he’d known she’d ask and sighed helplessly. Gently, he ruffled her hair and said, “I’ll take you to see something.”
