Qin Yu did not notice Qing Li’s worry. At this moment, she only felt that Brother Li seemed somewhat strange, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on what was off. After pondering for a while and coming up with nothing, she simply let it go.

As the two conversed, time passed swiftly, and before long it was midday. The scorching sun seemed intent on roasting the entire earth, radiating an oppressive heat.

After a simple meal, Qin Yu was about to return to her villa to check on Zhao Meng and the others, but she was startled by someone suddenly bursting in.

It was Feng Ke, covered in blood, his head limply resting on Xue Qi’s shoulder. Xue Qi’s face was etched with anxiety, and his hands and clothes were stained with blood, though it was unclear whose.

Bursting in, Xue Qi urgently told Qing Li, “Boss, hurry! Save him!”

Qing Li supported Feng Ke and instructed Xue Qi, “Go find Xia Cheng! Quickly!”

Xue Qi paused, then flustered, repeated, “Right. Xia Cheng! Find him! He’s a healer-type psychic, Xia Cheng!”

Without paying attention to Xue Qi’s panic, Qing Li swiftly carried Feng Ke away. Qin Yu patted Xue Qi’s shoulder, saying, “Pull yourself together, come with me!”

She followed Qing Li quickly, leaving Xue Qi to take a deep breath and force himself to calm down before rushing after them.

Meanwhile, Xia Cheng was discussing training matters with Zhao Meng. Having undergone formal training himself, he was eager to train their team when Qing Li suddenly appeared, supporting a man drenched in blood, interrupting their conversation.

Xia Cheng was startled at the sight and immediately began applying several psychic abilities to the man. Qing Li watched silently as Xia Cheng’s powers continuously took effect. Half of Xia Cheng’s clothes were soaked with warm blood, yet the rest carried an icy chill.

Qing Li’s gaze darkened, exuding a terrifying aura that pressed down on everyone, making it hard to breathe. Only when Qin Yu gently tugged his hand and offered a reassuring smile did he restrain himself somewhat.

Xue Qi caught up and anxiously asked, “How is he? Is he okay?”

Sweat beaded on Xia Cheng’s forehead, but his powers did not cease. Straining, he replied, “He has many wounds, most of which have healed under my abilities—except for one on his chest. It won’t heal; something is blocking my power.”

“What do we do then? Damn it!” Xue Qi exclaimed in frustration.

Xia Cheng shook his head. “I’m doing my best to keep the wound from reopening, but I don’t think he can hold on much longer. If we can’t find a solution soon, he will—” He left the sentence hanging, but everyone present understood the implication.

Xue Qi ran his fingers through his hair and crouched, murmuring, “It’s all my fault. It’s all my fault.”

Qing Li’s voice was stern. “How long can he hold on?”

“At most ten minutes,” Xia Cheng said, still using his abilities.

Hearing this, Qing Li’s aura darkened further. At that moment, Qin Yu suddenly spoke up, “What about Nangong Yao? He should be able to help.”

Hearing there might be hope, Xue Qi sprang up, grasping Qin Yu’s hands. “Please, save him! I’ll give anything! Please!”

“Calm down!” Qing Li scolded, freeing Qin Yu’s hands from Xue Qi’s grip.

Xue Qi’s eyes reddened, his expression lost as he stared blankly at the man unconscious and frowning.

“Where is Nangong Yao? Why haven’t we seen him?” Qin Yu asked again.

Zhao Meng shook her head. “I haven’t seen him since we arrived here. Don’t know what he’s been doing.”

Qin Yu frowned. Where had that man gone? Time was slipping away. Xue Qi looked at everyone, took a deep breath, and approached the unconscious Feng Ke. He said to Xia Cheng, “Stop wasting your power.”

Xia Cheng was taken aback. “You—”

Xue Qi glanced at him, then lowered his head, gently touching the bloodied face.

A tear dropped onto the man’s cheek, causing Xia Cheng to glance at him with a complex look.

Just when everyone felt powerless, Nangong Yao’s teasing voice echoed from upstairs. “Oh? Are you all throwing me a welcome-back party?”

Upon hearing his voice, Qin Yu called out, “Nangong Yao, come down quickly and see if he can still be saved!”

Nangong Yao looked at the bloodied man in the hall, then at the solemn yet expectant faces around him. Realizing the urgency, he swiftly descended and stood beside Feng Ke.

He examined Feng Ke and frowned, “How did this happen?” But there was no time to ponder; if they didn’t act quickly, the man would be lost.

Nangong Yao quickly produced a vial, took out a pill, and placed it into Feng Ke’s mouth. The pill melted instantly and soon took effect.

Feeling the change in Feng Ke’s condition, Xia Cheng smiled at Xue Qi. “He’s going to be fine. Don’t worry. Just have him rest and replenish his nutrients—he lost a lot of blood.”

Xue Qi lifted his head in surprise, tears still on his face. “He’s okay? Really?”

Xia Cheng nodded weakly, smiling, “The one who’s in trouble now is me—I’m drained of power.” Glancing at Zhao Meng, he noticed her worried expression and smiled slyly before looking even more exhausted.

Unaware of Xia Cheng’s little secret, Zhao Meng hurried to support him and said to Qin Yu, “Xiao Yu, do you have any strong tonic? I want to prepare something for Xia Cheng.”

Qin Yu smiled helplessly. Shouldn’t that be for Feng Ke? How could Xia Cheng recover with tonics when his power depletion required crystal cores!

Though Zhao Meng knew the truth, she couldn’t resist caring for her husband, determined to give him the best tonic anyway.

Nangong Yao looked on with a wry expression at the worried Zhao Meng and the sly Xia Cheng, proudly declaring he was not jealous at all. Hmph.

To avoid being overwhelmed by their affection, Nangong Yao decisively changed the subject.

“What happened to him? Who did this?” he asked Xue Qi.

Looking at Feng Ke, whose frown had eased, Xue Qi breathed a long sigh of relief and began, “It’s a long story.”

Qing Li pulled Qin Yu aside and said, “Take your time. We want to know everything—no detail left out.” His intuition told him this was important, hence the seriousness.

Xue Qi nodded and began, “Early this morning...”
