Because Song Qingyu strictly adhered to traditional propriety and refused to join her in having fun, Xie Liuzheng found herself unable to muster much interest even with ten male models before her.

She pulled Song Qingyu to her feet, saying they should go find the people in the private room next door. It would be livelier if everyone played together.

Neither of them had expected to run into Gu Yuandong and Lu Rongrong.

They even heard Gu Yuandong tell Lu Rongrong that he would cheat on her in the future.

Lu Rongrong was, after all, a well-bred heiress who cared deeply about her dignity. Gu Yuandong had humiliated her in front of so many people, and now that Song Qingyu and Xie Liuzheng had witnessed the scene, her anger only intensified.

She glared furiously at the man on the sofa. “Gu Yuandong, just you wait.”

Pei Jingmo’s expression was extraordinarily grim. He had intended to provoke Lu Rongrong, making her realize that he was nothing but a reckless rogue so she would become enraged and sever all ties with him.

He had never imagined that Song Qingyu would appear there.

Much less that she would see this scene.

“Mr. Gu, shall we keep drinking?”

The woman in his arms was doing her job dutifully. Pei Jingmo immediately let go of her, feeling as though he had been holding a bomb rather than a woman.

For the first time in his life, Pei Jingmo experienced guilt and panic.

He rose and walked toward Song Qingyu. “What are you two doing here?”

Xie Liuzheng gave a foolish little laugh. “We came here to have fun. But we’re nowhere near as good at it as you are, Mr. Gu. Bringing your fiancée to a place like this, and even having so many beautiful women keep you company.”

Afraid that Song Qingyu might misunderstand, Pei Jingmo wanted to explain. But with the facts laid out before them, any explanation would sound like an excuse.

“All right, all right. We won’t tell anyone.”

Song Qingyu was rather embarrassed herself. She had never expected to walk in on such a scandalous scene involving Mr. Gu.

Whether he had truly been trying to provoke Lu Rongrong or had some other motive, being caught in such a situation by one of his subordinates was bound to be awkward.

“Mr. Gu, take your time. We won’t disturb you.”

Song Qingyu dragged Xie Liuzheng out of the room. Reeking of alcohol, Xie Liuzheng waved at Pei Jingmo.

“Mr. Gu, let’s come play together sometime. It’s more fun when there are lots of people.”

Song Qingyu wished she could sew Xie Liuzheng’s mouth shut with a needle. “Will you please be quiet?”

“Hehe, we can’t interrupt Mr. Gu’s good time. Let’s go back and have fun with those ten male models.”

Ten male models?

Pei Jingmo caught the words sharply and could no longer sit still.

After leaving the club in agitation, he called Song Qingyu.

The call was answered quickly, and her slightly weary voice came through. “Jingmo—”

“Mm. I’m off work. Where are you? I’ll come pick you up.”

“Liuzheng is drinking. I’m staying with—”

Before she could finish, a man’s voice rang out. “Sister Qingyu, what song would you like to sing? I’ll order it for you.”

“Thank you, but I’m not singing. You all go ahead.”

“Oh, come on~~~ Let’s have some fun together~~~”

Xie Liuzheng lunged over, hung up Song Qingyu’s phone, wrapped an arm around her neck, and began singing a love song at the top of her lungs.

Song Qingyu felt as though her ears were about to go deaf.

Pei Jingmo gripped his phone so tightly that the screen nearly cracked.

Of all places, Xie Liuzheng had taken Qingyu to a club to look for male models.

Very well.

Pei Jingmo called Fu Linhan and asked him to find a way to get Xie Liuzheng out of there.

Fu Linhan had been in an even worse mood lately, so he could only send his manager, Wan Yue, to collect her.

After seeing the two of them off, Song Qingyu finally breathed a sigh of relief. She returned Pei Jingmo’s call, then took a taxi home.

Pei Jingmo arrived home before her. After changing clothes, he waited for Song Qingyu. His mind hurriedly accelerated the progress of his plan, yet his thoughts remained fixed on her.

When he heard the knock, he quickly went to open the door and pulled Song Qingyu inside.

He kissed her impatiently. But when he caught the unfamiliar scent of perfume on her, his gaze suddenly darkened with frightening intensity.

“Where have you been? Why do you smell like another man’s perfume?”

He knew the answer, yet asked anyway.

Even though he knew Song Qingyu would never touch those men, he was still jealous and furious.

Only his scent was allowed to cling to Song Qingyu. Not even the slightest trace of anyone else’s.

Before she could answer, he carried her straight into the bathroom.

“Don’t—I can wash myself. Go out first.”

“I’ll wash you.”

Ignoring her resistance and refusal, Pei Jingmo swiftly stripped off her clothes and carried her into the bathroom.

All kinds of complicated emotions surged through him. He kissed Song Qingyu as though he had gone mad, and in the bathroom he could not restrain himself from taking her.

“You… you’ve been drinking?”

Song Qingyu clearly smelled alcohol on him. Realizing that Pei Jingmo was losing control again, she coaxed him gently.

“We went to a club. Don’t worry, I didn’t touch any of those men. Their bodies aren’t as good as yours.”

“You were looking at their bodies?”

Song Qingyu wished she could bite her tongue off.

Pei Jingmo’s expression became terrifying, and his movements grew increasingly forceful. She could not bear it.

“Stop. I don’t want this anymore—”

“You’re mine alone!”

He kissed her lips. The more he loved her, the more terrified he was of losing her. His reason had vanished completely; all he wanted now was the woman in his arms.

“Pei Jingmo! You’re hurting me!”

Only when he heard the tears in Song Qingyu’s voice did Pei Jingmo manage to recover a fragment of his sanity.

Seeing the ugly blue and purple bite marks covering her body, and the tears pooling in her eyes with their corners reddened, he lowered his head and held her tightly.

“I’m sorry, Qingqing. I’m sorry—”

“Is that enough? Are you going to let me go now?”

Guilt filled Pei Jingmo’s face, and he looked utterly crushed.

After washing Song Qingyu clean, he dressed her in a bathrobe and carried her upstairs.

Song Qingyu could not understand why Pei Jingmo still felt so insecure when they had already confessed their feelings to each other.

This habit of suddenly losing control would have to be cured.

That evening, Song Qingyu did not call Pei Jingmo to bed. She climbed onto the bed alone and played with her phone.

Pei Jingmo entered quietly. He approached her with the utmost care.

“Qingqing, you can hit me.”

Song Qingyu set down her phone and glanced at him. This broad-shouldered man with his closely cropped hair had lowered his head like a great abandoned puppy, looking utterly pitiful.

“Why would I hit you?”

“I hurt you.”

Song Qingyu sighed. She had originally intended to teach Pei Jingmo a lesson, but when she saw his face and heard him asking her to hit him, her heart softened.

“Come here.”

She took Pei Jingmo’s hand and led him to sit on the bed.

“You’re my husband. I can understand why you get jealous, but could you listen to me next time? When I say I’ve had enough, you can’t keep being so rough.”

“I’m sorry.”

Pei Jingmo pulled Song Qingyu tightly into his arms, cherishing her as though she were something precious.

“I was wrong.”

To recognize one’s mistake and mend one’s ways was the greatest virtue.

“My heart is small. It has room for only you. No one will ever take me away from you.”

Song Qingyu knew that Pei Jingmo lacked a sense of security, so she kept expressing her feelings to him.

Pei Jingmo was not a fool. How could he fail to understand the care behind her efforts?

Yet the better she treated him, the more guilty he felt, and the more afraid he became that she would abandon him once she learned his true identity.

He had even thought that perhaps—

Perhaps he should hide it from her for the rest of their lives.

After all, they were happy now.
