Chapter Thirty-Four: Tremendous Change
“The Great Way is refined within the heart, sent and received without form, vast as the sun and moon.”
“Heaven and earth, the four directions, make up the universe; past and present give rise to time.”
“All things endure, shining through ages—this is truly creation’s work!”
In the pitch-black void, Lin Fan murmured with his eyes closed. Streams of radiant light surged from his body, as dazzling and eternal as the stars in the dark cosmos.
“As there is creation in heaven and earth, so too is there creation in the human body—fashioning the invincible, transforming into the eternal!”
Suddenly, Lin Fan thrust out his fist. The sky seemed to blossom and collapse. A torrent of fist force swept in all directions. A deafening hum shook the air as the great cauldron trembled, unable to contain such terrifying power.
“Good! In less than ten days, you’ve already mastered the Divine Creation Fist to a consummate level. Truly impressive. But this is also the limit of the Physical Realm. To break through further, you must step into the Vein Condensation Realm.”
A burst of rosy light filled the cave, and the figure of Prison Sky appeared before Lin Fan. Yet as always, his form was hazy, his features impossible to discern.
“Have you already refined the Blood Pill?”
Lin Fan’s brows lifted in pleasant surprise.
Prison Sky laughed heartily. A blood-red pill floated before him. “Not only that, I have extracted all the power from Duanmu Ci and merged it into the Blood Pill. Otherwise, refining only that life essence would never have taken ten days. Now I can assure you that once you take the Blood Pill, you will naturally break through to the peak of the eighth Physical Layer, and possibly even the ninth.”
“This is excellent!”
Lin Fan was overjoyed. Prison Sky would never deceive him on such a matter; perhaps his great fortune had truly arrived.
“But won’t that old ghost outside notice anything amiss inside the cauldron? If he interrupts midway, all might be lost.”
Lin Fan was bold yet cautious. If he was to break through, no one could be allowed to interfere.
“Rest easy. Until the pill is formed, that old ghost outside absolutely cannot break open the cauldron. No matter how great the commotion, it doesn’t matter.”
Prison Sky was thoroughly confident—he had already calculated everything.
With this assurance, Lin Fan no longer hesitated. He took the Blood Pill and swallowed it in one motion. A vast power instantly spread throughout his body, and his strength soared at breakneck speed.
“Haha! Truly an unrivaled treasure pill. My fortune has finally come. After so many years of mediocrity in the Vein Condensation Realm, I never thought I’d encounter such fortune in this life!”
Outside, the old ghost of the Nether Domain laughed heartily, his face all but splitting with joy.
For ten whole days, the distant cauldron had never ceased to tremble, and the entire cave rumbled with it. The old ghost’s feelings rose and fell with every sound.
“It's said that when a divine treasure pill is being refined, all manner of strange phenomena occur. Ordinary cauldrons could never withstand it. Fortunately, my cauldron was gifted by the Young Ghost Prince—no ordinary object. Otherwise, it could never endure such medicinal power.”
The old ghost muttered to himself. He had mistaken the commotion from Lin Fan’s training as pill phenomena, no wonder he remained so composed, neither anxious nor impatient for ten days.
“The day the pill is complete will be the day I break through, perhaps even advancing several tiers. Longevity will be of little concern.”
The old ghost brimmed with confidence, excitement nearly overwhelming him.
While Lin Fan was striving to break through, great changes had already taken place in the distant Ancient Red City.
Demonic armies had appeared, sweeping across all the powers of the Tianwu Domain. Disciples in the Physical Realm suffered unprecedented slaughter—none could say how many had fallen.
Naturally, the human race of the Tianwu Domain would not let this stand. Vein Condensation experts took action to restore the situation, but then something even more terrible occurred.
For the first time, Vein Condensation experts of the demon race appeared in public, overwhelmingly powerful. They immediately slew several true disciples of the Heavenly Capital Sect, sparking a massive clash. The top figures in the Heaven Person Realm stationed in Ancient Red City could no longer sit idly by—they moved to kill the demon Vein Condensation experts to stabilize the army’s morale.
But no one expected what happened next. Just as the Heaven Person expert was about to act, a terrifying scene unfolded: five demon Heaven Person experts arrived together. The most powerful, a great figure of the Asura clan, had even reached the fourth decline of the Heaven Person Realm—nearly invincible in the Tianwu Domain. Fortunately, two human Heaven Person experts also arrived, barely stabilizing the situation.
“We are besieged by the demons, and our communication devices with our respective forces were destroyed days ago. We are now completely cut off from the outside world.”
In a grand hall, three human giants sat together.
“Ji Wusheng, let us hear your thoughts.”
The elder in the main seat spoke. His voice was gentle, yet carried a supreme authority—clearly a man long accustomed to power.
“Lord Jiang, the demons are determined to annihilate us. In that case, I propose we force our way out and send those demon whelps to their graves.”
Ji Wusheng was a middle-aged man radiating murderous intent. His eyes brimmed with visions of massacres—his cold expression was enough to chill the soul.
The Ji family was a great clan in the Tianwu Domain, its strength unfathomable. Though not quite equal to the Heavenly Capital Sect, the difference was not vast.
“Yunji, what is your view?”
Lord Jiang nodded noncommittally, then turned to the unremarkable old man seated to his left—the Discipline Elder of the Heavenly Capital Sect, Chu Yunji.
“A direct clash is impossible now. If Lord Jiang hadn’t appeared days ago, the demons would have already overrun us. Not to mention the Asura commander at the fourth decline of the Heaven Person Realm, the other demon commanders are also formidable. Even the weakest, the Minotaur demon, is at the second decline, and their battle strength rivals the fourth.”
Chu Yunji was calm, analyzing the situation with careful logic.
“Go on.”
Lord Jiang did not interrupt, signaling for Chu Yunji to continue.
“Our strength is insufficient. We can only seek outside aid. But now that the demons have completely sealed Ancient Red City, both Heaven Person and Vein Condensation experts are closely watched. The only possible breakthrough lies with the Physical Realm disciples.”
Chu Yunji fell silent, but the other two were experienced enough to grasp his meaning instantly.
“Isn’t it too dangerous for those in the Physical Realm? The demons are strong, with many in the Vein Condensation Realm, and Heaven Person experts are watching closely. The Physical Realm disciples are our future backbone.”
A trace of hesitation flickered in Lord Jiang’s eyes. He understood the stakes. Even if they were to send out Physical Realm disciples, only the very best would do. But losing even one would cause an immense uproar.
“We will discuss this further. If our isolation lasts too long, others will surely notice and come to our aid. For now, our priority is to hold our ground.”
Lord Jiang set the tone, unwilling to risk those talented disciples.
Chu Yunji sighed inwardly. He knew Lord Jiang’s character—powerful, yet indecisive. If rescue truly comes, all will be well. But if not...
