“Do you really think I am some weakling? Get out of my way!”

Ziming roared, his aura surging like a tidal wave. His face twisted into a hideous snarl, like a fierce beast. Purple energy rolled violently as a heavenly sword burst forth, striking across the firmament. Though his left arm had been severed by Wang Yan, this did not greatly diminish his combat power; if anything, it had driven him to unleash strength far beyond his usual limits.

But the outcome was merciless.

The battle halberd swept through everything in its path, like a river of stars turned upside down, its dreadful aura crushing all around it.

Ziming coughed blood, his body nearly split apart. In a single exchange he was already grievously wounded, utterly outmatched.

The purple heavenly sword snapped into two, then crumbled into ashes.

A young man in armor rode forward on horseback, killing intent surging around him. He raised the battle halberd once more, intent on delivering the finishing blow.

At that moment, visions blossomed everywhere, falling petals drifting through the air. Young Master Falling Flowers drew the longsword at his waist and struck with overwhelming force, charging straight at the armored youth.

Young Master Falling Flowers possessed extraordinary talent; his battle power was nearly comparable to the seventh level of the Pulse-Consolidation Realm, far surpassing Ziming. Moreover, he now stood at the very summit of his strength, fearsome beyond measure.

“Seeking death.”

The young man’s expression did not change. Turning about, he punched out, radiant light blazing like a meteor tearing across the sky. He carried an invincible air, each move lethal.

Young Master Falling Flowers grew solemn. He met the attack with full force, daring not to be careless in the slightest.

“Where did such a powerhouse come from? He is truly terrifying. Judging by his realm, he should not be too high—at most the fifth level of the Pulse-Consolidation Realm.”

Lin Fan was shocked and spoke aloud. His eyes shone like stars, with a mysterious light flashing within them.

“Indeed terrifying, and his talent is not weak either. Even I could not see the slightest anomaly. Could this place truly be an ancient city of the old era?”

Yi Xiaoxian shook her head, utterly perplexed. She had already considered all the secret records she knew of, yet still could not understand why such a city and such a group of people would appear here.

“His talent is certainly not weak, and that is only one of them making a move.”

Lin Fan nodded. To produce battle power of the seventh level at the fifth level of the Pulse-Consolidation Realm was a talent seen perhaps once in two thousand years; it was indeed extraordinary.

“No, there is no life blood on them!”

Suddenly, Lin Fan’s expression changed. The center of his brow began to writhe, and a vertical eye emerged.

This was the manifestation of the Sight of Qi pushed to its limit, somewhat akin to the ancient legend of the Three-Eyed Clan.

“You?”

Yi Xiaoxian’s expression changed, because she saw Lin Fan suddenly make a move.

Life blood exploded like a river bursting its banks. In the briefest instant, terrifying power surged out and swept across all directions.

Lin Fan moved with the bearing of a dragon and the tread of a tiger, his divine abilities unmatched, radiance circling him, blazing to the extreme. From afar he looked like a ball of fire burning fiercely.

“How daring! You still want to join forces?”

One of them struck as well, also a young man. He charged on horseback, slashed down with one hand, his fingers shining as streaks of divine patterns spread out—terrifying beyond compare.

“Just as I thought. So you have already passed.”

Lin Fan let out a quiet sigh, his face expressionless. This man’s attack had already revealed their identity.

“A pity. A hero of an age long gone.”

There was regret in Lin Fan’s heart. He could no longer truly measure himself against the young powerhouses of antiquity. Still, his strikes were by no means slow.

Streak after streak of divine light shot skyward. Lin Fan flicked out ten fingers in succession, and boundless radiance poured forth, flooding heaven and earth, brilliant and resplendent.

“Hmph, what a traitor!”

Again that word—traitor. The remaining riders of that iron cavalry all chose to attack. Though lacking life blood, their fighting intent was peerless.

In the distance, rocks shattered and the earth sank as if the world were ending.

Lin Fan’s expression did not change as he advanced slowly. He was like a true god descending into the mortal world, crushing enemies in every direction. The Force of Creation Fist was already in motion, and at this moment his battle power was comparable to the eighth level of the Pulse-Consolidation Realm.

“I would have liked to fight you all, but unfortunately, that chance is gone.”

Lin Fan shook his head, a trace of sorrow in him, yet his hands never slowed. Vast fist force swept across the heavens, and terrifying divine light swallowed all.

A great collision erupted. The earth split, the mountains collapsed.

Lin Fan advanced with crushing momentum, unstoppable as a tidal wave. The combat power of the people before him was mostly around the seventh level of the Pulse-Consolidation Realm, far inferior to his own. Moreover, without life blood, defeat was inevitable.

A single finger bore down upon the sky. With a flick, Lin Fan obscured the heavens and shattered one of them, though no flesh and blood burst forth; the figure simply dispersed.

“So that is the truth. How could the people of antiquity, how could an ancient city, have survived until now? It was only an imprint.”

Yi Xiaoxian had also seen through the mystery. She let out a long sigh and did not intend to intervene, merely watching in silence as if paying respects to something long lost.

When the battle ended, Lin Fan stood with his hands behind his back and walked out from the sea of divine light, unrivaled under heaven. The crowd opposite him had already vanished without a trace.

At the same time, Young Master Falling Flowers also finished his battle. His longsword had split the armored youth’s armor and pierced his forehead.

“I have lost. We have lost.”

The young man’s eyes flickered; tears actually welled up in them. In the end, his body exploded directly into pieces.

“Brother Lin, what is going on here?”

Young Master Falling Flowers sheathed his sword and came to Lin Fan’s side, his face full of confusion.

“After the ancient age ended, all of this became illusory. But because they carried such deep hatred, heaven and earth preserved their imprint.”

Lin Fan explained. Without the Sight of Qi, even he could not have seen all this. Now that he understood the cause and effect, his heart grew all the more desolate.

“The ancient age? You mean these are not real living people?”

Young Master Falling Flowers asked in shock.

“They were real enough, but they do not belong to this era.”

Lin Fan had no intention of concealing the truth, for the world itself had changed. Scene after scene was unfolding before them.

A mass of dark clouds covered the four directions, boundless and endless. In the distance, figures appeared atop the city walls, roaring toward the sky as if in fury.

At that moment, a gigantic hand emerged from the clouds and descended directly toward the ancient city.

It was a hand beyond description, blotting out the sun and sky, with no visible edge. Wherever it passed, space itself turned to ashes; nothing could stop it.

Several figures rushed out from the ancient city, taking to the air to strike at the heavens, but the result was obvious. They dissolved into nothingness. At last the giant hand fell, and the entire ancient city vanished in a blaze of brilliance, utterly broken.

“Pfft!”

Several mouthfuls of blood were spat out. Lin Fan and the others turned deathly pale, unexpectedly sustaining minor injuries.

“This was a scene from ages upon ages ago. To think we actually witnessed it. Just what sort of strong being was that giant hand’s owner? Truly invincible beneath heaven.”

Young Master Falling Flowers staggered backward, a few drops of blood staining his white robe.

“The people in the ancient city bore hatred, and so they left this scene behind for the world to see.”

Lin Fan wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his expression grave. At the same time, a thunderous rumble came from afar. The city collapsed, the radiance symbolizing auspicious omen scattered into nothing, and in its place appeared a ruin shrouded in black mist, utterly different from what it had been before.
