Chapter 113: The Arrival of the Ultimate Being

“If Chika’s digital soul has a high compatibility with Biyomon, then she’ll be absorbed into DATS, won’t she?”

Hearing Toma’s words, Daimon grew more irritated and snapped, “I know that already! That’s why I came to talk to you!”

Toma paused his work and met Daimon’s gaze steadily. “I understand you don’t want her to fight, but any Digimon not under DATS management will be sent back to the Digital World.”

“We live in the human world. You should be well aware of how dangerous Digimon can be to humans. Therefore, our priority must always be humanity.”

Toma sighed softly. “But can you really tell your sister Chika that she has to part ways with Biyomon?”

“...”

Both fell silent.

Daimon leaned against the wall, his head lowered so his expression was hidden, but one could sense the tangled conflict within him. His knuckles turned pale as he clenched his fists tightly.

“Qin Fei, what are you planning to do?”

Inside the DATS dormitory, Lorrita-mon looked at Qin Fei’s solemn face, puzzled. He seemed to carry the heavy burden of facing a formidable enemy.

“An enemy is coming. As a member of DATS, I have a reason to fight.”

Qin Fei wiped the sweat from his body and carefully examined all the digital cards he had collected, searching for a way to win—or at least not lose to Mercurymon.

Suddenly, he wanted to make a decisive change in the story. If Chika and Biyomon hadn’t separated as the plot dictated, could Biyomon have evolved to a higher level beyond the Perfect form?

“Enemy? We’ll just fight it together. Haven’t we always done that?”

Lorrita-mon came to Qin Fei’s side, holding up a finely crafted digital card, seemingly unconcerned.

Qin Fei took the card back and looked at her solemnly. “What if the opponent is an Ultimate? And you guys can only reach the Champion level...”

According to the official Digimon encyclopedia, Mercurymon is one of the Twelve Olympian Beast Gods, known as the fastest Digimon in the Digital World. Its speed is so great that its movements are nearly impossible to track with the naked eye.

Such a powerful Digimon would soon be a threat the DATS members had to face.

In the anime, it was Biyomon’s desperate defense that stirred Mercurymon’s heart enough to spare Daimon and the others, allowing them to retreat to the Digital World.

“Ultimate...”

Lorrita-mon murmured, lost in thought, but soon a spark of battle spirit lit her eyes.

“I want to try. Maybe, through this fight, I can evolve again.”

Seeing Lorrita-mon’s eager anticipation, Qin Fei shook his head with mixed feelings but smiled admiringly. “That’s just like you, Lolo. This time, we really have no choice but to fight—even if it’s an Ultimate.”

“Is it Mercurymon? Or Golden Saberleomon?”

Diru-mon suddenly appeared beside Qin Fei, her expression more anxious than before. Though she asked, she already seemed to know the answer.

“Mercurymon is strong. Qin Fei, I suggest we avoid its full force for now.”

Listening to Diru-mon’s worried caution, Qin Fei only smiled. This fight, he wanted to face head-on.

He couldn’t keep running from danger as he had before. Battles were the nourishment Digimon needed to evolve.

After all, he had three Digimon partners, but none had evolved to their Perfect forms. He needed a wholehearted battle that would push both himself and his partners to their limits.

Otherwise, when countless Ultimates arrived in the future, he would truly be powerless to respond.

“You guys… fine. Looks like we have no choice but to give it our all...”

Seeing Qin Fei’s determined expression, Diru-mon grew anxious but, glancing at Lorrita-mon quietly watching her and the still dazed Kurodoromon listening to Qin Fei, her competitive spirit began to rise.

“Sigh, you’re the one I chose. As your partner, I guess I have no choice but to protect you with all my might.”

Diru-mon complained, but the wild fire of a Digimon’s spirit blazed fiercely in her eyes.

“Hahaha, since you’ve come to terms with it, let’s fight together, Diru-mon.”

Qin Fei scooped Diru-mon into his arms and gently rubbed her.

“Dudu-du.”

The communicator suddenly vibrated, clearly Shunao had discovered something.

“Qin Fei, Nightbirdmon has appeared again. Please hurry and assemble with us...”

It was indeed Shunao’s voice.

“Got it!”

After giving Diru-mon’s soft ears a squeeze, Qin Fei stored her and Kurodoromon inside the Tyrannomon device, then slapped his cheeks to prepare himself for facing Mercurymon.

Arriving swiftly under the DATS building, Qin Fei and Lolo immediately spotted two waiting figures.

“That Daimon guy must be crazy—he actually challenged Biyomon to a fight.”

On the way, Shunao recounted Daimon’s recent reckless behavior.

“There’s no other way. I understand Daimon’s feelings.”

Toma looked out the window, his calm expression concealing a turbulent heart.

He had always regarded Chika as a little sister, so Daimon’s actions were not incomprehensible to him.

Having a Digimon partner meant fighting and being under management. If one refused to fight, the Digimon had to be sent back to their Digital World.

It was a difficult decision.

Though Chika had made up her mind, her family had to ensure her safety.

“There! Stop!”

Shunao slammed on the brakes sharply, almost throwing Qin Fei and Toma forward.

There was no time for complaints; everyone got out immediately and looked toward the nearby electrical tower where a battle was underway.

“That’s the one.”

Watching Nightbirdmon soaring in the sky, everyone readied themselves for battle.

Especially Qin Fei, who knew Nightbirdmon wasn’t much of a threat, but Mercurymon descending afterward was the real danger.

“Gaomon, materialize!”

“Lalamon, materialize!”

Seeing the two Digimon appear before them, Qin Fei pulled out his Tyrannomon device and released Diru-mon and Kurodoromon.

However, he didn’t evolve any of his Digimon; his stamina wasn’t to be wasted on that Nightbirdmon.

“Digital soul, infuse!”

Toma and Shunao ignored Qin Fei’s plan—or perhaps they weren’t aware of it—as they simultaneously evolved their Digimon partners to the next stage.

“Again, it’s you guys!”

Seeing the figures disembark from the vehicle, Nightbirdmon hesitated, especially upon seeing Qin Fei.

But glancing at the injured Biyomon nearby, Nightbirdmon didn’t flee like before. That Biyomon seemed very important to him.

Biyomon stood up and addressed Nightbirdmon soaring overhead: “I won’t go back with you. I want to stay with Chika.”

“...”

“Biyomon, why!!”

Nightbirdmon, harboring deep hatred for humans, couldn’t understand why Biyomon valued that human girl so much.

Biyomon looked up at Daimon on the electrical tower, then clenched his beak and flew up.

“Get on my back!”

Daimon was stunned but quickly understood, kicking off and leaping onto Biyomon’s back.

This Biyomon was large enough to bear a person’s weight and take flight.

“Bi... Biyomon, I don’t want to fight you!”

Startled by the sudden charge of Biyomon and Daimon, Nightbirdmon panicked.

In that moment of distraction, Daimon landed a punch.

“Alright, Agumon, let’s evolve too!”

Seeing the orange glow in his hand, Daimon grew excited.

“Agumon evolve... into Greymon!”

But just then, a flame-like light suddenly descended from the sky.

The overwhelming aura it radiated sent chills through everyone, humans and Digimon alike.

“Qin Fei, that presence... it’s terrifying.”

A rare look of tension appeared in Lorrita-mon’s eyes.

“It really is Mercurymon... that guy.”

Diru-mon even involuntarily stepped back, her expression not of fear but of anguish.
