Chapter 114: The Red Exclamation Mark
Inside the DATS Command Center, the red warning lights flickered more piercingly than ever before.
“A… a new Digimon reaction has appeared.”
Megumi Shirakawa stared at the data on the screen, cold sweat suddenly breaking out across her brow.
She even wondered if her eyes were playing tricks on her.
Only after triple-checking did she nervously stammer to Sato, “It’s… a super-large Digimon!”
“…”
“Our data analysis… it’s impossible.”
Miki Kurosaki, standing nearby, stared blankly at the data instruments, unable to make sense of the information.
“…”
“Unable to analyze?!”
Sato’s whole body tensed as he looked at the data on the main screen.
“An Ultimate level…?”
Everyone quickly grasped the grim reality: the entity that had just appeared in the human world was none other than an immensely dangerous Ultimate-level Digimon.
All personnel entered the highest state of combat readiness.
From the data they had, it was clear that most Ultimate-level Digimon were terrifying forces of nature, capable of effortlessly destroying entire cities.
“Contact them immediately—evacuate at once!”
Miki Kurosaki nodded and swiftly connected all communication earpieces, urgently ordering, “Daemon, Toma, Shuno, and Qin Fei, this is beyond your capability—withdraw immediately!”
…
Facing the towering figure before them, with its powerful aura steeped in dense digital energy, everyone on site felt a shiver of unease.
Mercurymon resembled a human wearing a beast’s helmet, but was extraordinarily tall—like a formidable hunter emerging from the realm of giants.
Each person present felt as though they had become frail prey beneath its gaze, their will to resist fading.
All except one: Daemon Da, stubborn to a fault.
“I am Daemon Da, the brawler captain! I don’t just retreat on command!”
Clenching his fists, Daemon Da charged forward fearlessly despite the overwhelming enemy.
“So reckless…”
Qin Fei’s eye twitched; he hadn’t expected Daemon Da to possess such boldness. Though Daemon seemed foolish, for some reason Qin Fei found himself admiring that courage.
“Don’t go! Daemon!”
Toma’s expression changed as he saw Daemon charge headlong into danger—there was no time to stop him.
But despite Daemon’s bravery, he was no match for his father’s level. The gap between him and Mercurymon was immense; before he could even close the distance, a powerful gust from Mercurymon’s palm flung him away.
“Brother!”
Chika anxiously watched Daemon struggle to rise again, clearly hoping he wouldn’t rush forward once more.
“Million Flames!”
Seeing his partner injured, Tyrannomon overcame his fear and unleashed a scorching blaze that instantly engulfed their foe.
However, Mercurymon simply reached out and closed his hand gently, extinguishing the fierce flames within his palm as if they were nothing.
“What!!!”
Only then did Daemon and the others truly grasp the unfathomable power gap between themselves and this “giant.”
Mercurymon suddenly raised his hand, seemingly targeting Tyrannomon… and flicked his finger lightly.
“The Great Ruler of All Worlds.”
A fierce white light flashed and vanished in an instant.
Tyrannomon was blasted away, reverting to an Agumon.
Closing in, Mercurymon aimed his palm at the others, as if intent on eliminating them one by one.
“Danger! Master!”
At the critical moment, Gaogamon and Sunflowmon immediately stepped in front of their partner, attempting to block Mercurymon’s attack.
But with a familiar flash of white light, both were defeated and reverted to their Rookie forms.
No one could withstand even a single strike from him—not that Mercurymon was using his full strength; he disdained to do so.
“Foolish humans, I, Mercurymon, will execute judgment upon you here.”
His tone was melodramatic, but no one found it amusing, for his words carried genuine murderous intent.
Despair began to show in Toma and Shuno’s eyes.
Yet, just as Mercurymon fixed his gaze on Qin Fei, his demeanor suddenly shifted, as if confronted with something unfathomable.
“Why are you here?”
“….”
Without warning, Delmon stepped forward, standing resolutely before Qin Fei, fearlessly locking eyes with Mercurymon.
From Mercurymon’s reaction, Qin Fei could tell they knew each other.
“Why are you here?”
Mercurymon repeated, sounding both incredulous and angry.
“You, once one of the Twelve Olympian Gods, consorting with despicable humans—do you not feel shame?!”
“…”
Qin Fei: “???”
Lolo: “......”
Delmon: “???”
Everyone was stunned. They had never suspected the quiet Delmon would harbor such an unexpected identity.
“Twelve Olympian Gods? What’s that?”
Lolo asked, voicing the question on everyone’s mind.
“The Twelve Olympian Gods…” Qin Fei said no more, seeming reluctant to elaborate.
“You actually know?!” Mercurymon’s gaze shifted from Delmon to Qin Fei in surprise. He hadn’t expected this human child to be aware of the Twelve Olympian Gods.
Qin Fei nodded; he understood that Mercurymon was one of the Twelve Olympian Gods, but Delmon too?
“What… exactly are you?” Lolo looked at her with astonishment, not expecting that this Digimon she’d long been at odds with held such a formidable secret.
“I don’t know. Ever since I can remember in the Digital World, I was just a Cubimon. Then I evolved into a Puppymon, and after that, I met Qin Fei. I was drawn to what you called the ‘Divine Project’…”
Delmon explained, seeming lost herself.
It appeared she had no clear knowledge of her own identity… or perhaps, having reverted to a Digi-Egg, she’d lost her memories?
“Yes, I understand that Venusmon, one of the Twelve Gods, lost her memories after becoming a Digi-Egg. But!”
Mercurymon suddenly raised his voice, pointing at Qin Fei with murderous intent, “For those who blaspheme the gods, I will be their judge.”
“Damn it… why do I always end up the one with the highest hatred value?”
Qin Fei began to suspect he was destined to clash with villainous Digimon.
Everywhere he went, the greatest enemy would inevitably focus their hatred on him.
It was true for Devimon, for Apemon, and now for Mercurymon.
Still, Qin Fei was ready. This time, he was prepared to fight even when driven into a corner.
“Evolve, Lolo. Evolve to a higher level! This battle will be our last!”
Suddenly, as if in response to Qin Fei’s resolve, a more intense digital soul enveloped his hand.
A strange sensation rose from the depths of his heart.
“Qin Fei, I feel… strange…”
Lorettamon began to glow with an unusual light.
Hearing Lolo’s odd voice, Qin Fei had no time to be distracted.
For in his hand, Lorettamon’s third-generation Tyrannomon, influenced by the digital soul, flickered with familiar red exclamation marks.
“This is!!!”
Unexpectedly, a visible force began drawing in all the digital souls from Qin Fei’s hand, swallowing them up.
“Qin Fei, I feel… I feel…”
For some reason, Qin Fei suddenly sensed Lolo’s voice had taken on a seductive tone…
