Chapter 133: The Digimon Army
"Through that harrowing experience, I have awakened. To humanity, all Digimon are enemies!"
Akihiro Kurata gazed at the towering Mercurymon with nothing but loathing and hatred in his eyes. He hated Digimon, he hated Spencer Damon, and he hated everything about the Digital World. As he finished speaking, Kurata let out a hideous, repulsive laugh. "I am merely fulfilling the mission of rescuing humanity from the clutches of these evil Digimon..."
Qin Fei watched him in silence. He knew that later, when Kurata gained control over Belphemon, he intended to use its power to rule the human world for his own selfish desires. His ideals were not nearly as noble as he claimed.
"You're insane!"
"So, the hatred felt by Ikuto and Mercurymon... is it all because of you?!"
Yoshino and Tohma watched Kurata prattling on, their expressions growing increasingly disgusted, as if they were looking at human filth.
"And what if it is? As former members of DATS, do you still intend to attack me?" Kurata sneered, casting a disdainful glance at them. "Surely not? If you do, you'll have no place left in the human world. As a Digital researcher, I am now a vital scientist for the Kurata Government... Are you trying to commit a crime?"
"You rotten piece of scum! You're a disgrace that reeks for forty miles!" Masaru roared, the fury in his heart for the man before him rising ever higher.
"I thought that by coming to the Digital World early, you might help me get rid of Mercurymon, but I never expected you to be birds of a feather. You're all talk, aren't you?" Kurata looked at the face that so closely resembled Spencer Damon's and spoke with utter contempt. "Just like your father, you're a fool. Talking about harmonious coexistence with Digimon—I think he was the true idiot. Digimon and humans can never coexist."
Hearing the man demean his father's ideals triggered an explosion within Masaru. A massive surge of orange Digisoul erupted around his body, as if he were burning with righteous fury. The Digisoul within him seemed to have finally reached the Perfect level.
"You bastard! I'll smash your rotten face until every tooth in your mouth is scattered on the floor!!!"
Seeing Masaru charge, Kurata scoffed and stepped back. Instantly, soldiers in riot gear surrounding him raised their weapons, forcing Masaru to halt. The three strangely dressed individuals—two men and one woman—also approached Masaru with excitement.
"I am so disappointed!" Kurata shook his head and snapped his fingers.
*Thud...*
With a dull impact, a strangely shaped Digimon was sent flying from behind Mercurymon. It had a round head, square wings, and cable-like tentacles trailing beneath it—a bizarre sight. But now, it twitched incessantly on the ground as if it had short-circuited.
It was Gizmon: AT.
This sight caused Kurata, who had been so sure of his victory, to instantly change color. "My masterpiece, Gizmon: AT... how could it be defeated so easily..."
"..."
"Your masterpiece? It doesn't look like much to me..."
Qin Fei’s cold voice suddenly sounded from behind Mercurymon, and a Digimon with the body of a tiger and a human face slowly materialized, looking down at Kurata and his group. He had been waiting for the moment Gizmon attempted its sneak attack. He also knew that the human soldiers were merely a distraction; the real danger lay in Kurata’s army of Digimon.
"Who are you..." Kurata stood up, his face ashen, searching his memory in vain for any information on the boy before him.
"You can call me the spoiler." Qin Fei ignored the hatred in Kurata’s eyes and stroked the head of the SaberLeomon that had returned to his side.
"I didn't expect to fail... but I have prepared for the worst." Kurata suppressed his hatred, regaining his composure as he watched the Gizmon: AT dissolve into a Digi-Egg. "Although this was an enhanced version I created specifically to counter Mercurymon, it is of no consequence. I can produce as many of these mass-manufactured things as I want... But do you really think you've won?"
Qin Fei felt Kurata’s gaze piercing him like a blade; the man clearly wished to tear him to pieces. It was obvious that Qin Fei's intervention had significantly disrupted Kurata's plans.
Kurata clapped his hands again, and the human soldiers immediately withdrew their weapons and scrambled back as if pardoned.
"..."
Mercurymon suddenly lifted his head, scanning the horizon, his expression turning grave. "Qin Fei, I can sense it... many... ominous presences are approaching... many, so very many..."
"..."
Qin Fei didn't need the warning; he had already seen it. Even Gatomon and BlackDorulumon had entered a combat stance as they looked at the scenery closing in from all directions.
If anyone asked if Qin Fei had ever experienced a locust plague, he would certainly have shaken his head. Having spent his life working in the city, he had never encountered such a disaster; the most he had ever dealt with were cockroaches in his rental apartment. But now, looking at the dense, cloud-like swarms of Gizmon approaching from every side, he realized that the locusts of a plague were nothing compared to this.
While a tiger might not fear an ant, when the ants reach a certain number, even the most powerful creature must retreat. The Gizmon closing in were clearly a force of that magnitude.
"There are... there are so many." Yoshino’s voice trembled, but no one mocked her. After seeing such a sight, no one could remain calm.
"Satsuma, Ivan, Nanami, it's your turn!" Kurata smiled with satisfaction as he watched the shock on Masaru and the others' faces. He beckoned to the three strangely dressed individuals beside him.
"Ha, I've been waiting for this!" The rowdy man with yellow-gray hair cracked his knuckles and walked toward Masaru, as if he had found his fated rival.
"Ha, watch me knock your teeth out!" Masaru didn't hold back, clenching his fists and charging forward. As the ultimate delinquent fighter, he could never refuse a challenge.
As their fists collided, both Satsuma and Masaru stepped back. Seeing the energy of the Digisoul shimmering on his own hand, Masaru’s pupils contracted as he stared at the man in disbelief. His fists only reacted like this when striking a Digimon.
"This is... why would the Digisoul..."
"The opponent is a human, after all." Hearing himself referred to as human, Satsuma gave a disdainful laugh. "Human? Don't lump us in with you. Let me show you... we are beings that have surpassed humanity!"
He pulled out a blue, modified Digivice and roared triumphantly: "Hyper Bio Evolution!"
A massive surge of digital energy instantly enveloped him. When the light faded, a red-headed, blue-bodied avian monster stood in his place.
"BioThunderbirmon!"
Everyone’s eyes widened in shock. A human had actually turned into a Digimon. The scene was as absurd as it was impossible.
On the other side, the blonde girl and the burly man also produced purple and brown modified Digivices, shouting proudly: "Hyper Bio Evolution! BioLotusmon! / BioSpinomon!"
A red-faced, white-bodied serpentine monster and a dinosaur Digimon with blades on its back took the place of the two.
"Hahahaha! How are my results? I have sublimated humanity, giving them the power of gods!!!"
Kurata’s uncontrollable laughter echoed from behind the three creatures that were once human, filled with boundless madness...
