Chapter 134: The Celestial Beast

"Even if you have turned into a Digimon, I can still beat you until you are picking your teeth up off the floor!!!"

Staring at the man who had transformed into BioThunderbirmon, Marcus Damon did not back down; instead, he pulled his Digivice from his pocket.

"DNA Charge, Overdrive!"

A surge of DNA energy, far more intense than ever before, erupted from within him and flooded into the Digivice in his hand. Marcus looked at Agumon with anticipation, knowing that his partner was capable of evolving further.

"Agumon evolve to... RiseGreymon!"

A massive Digimon with mechanical wings appeared before everyone. Seeing his partner’s majestic form, Marcus’s eyes sparkled with confidence.

Only Qin Fei, standing to the side, shook his head with a sense of regret as he watched RiseGreymon. He feared that RiseGreymon’s first battle would be one of defeat; the strength of these Digimon modified by Akihiro Kurata was far superior to that of Marcus, Yoshino, and Thomas combined. Unless, of course, they could continue to evolve to the Mega level.

"DNA Charge, Overdrive!"
"Lalamon evolve to... Lilamon!"
"Gaomon evolve to... Gaogamon!"
"..."

On the other side, seeing the new forms of Marcus’s partner, Yoshino and Thomas nodded and evolved their own partners to the Ultimate level. The battle had once again become a three-on-three standoff.

"Kouki, Ivan, Nanami—show them the extent of your power. Let them see the future of humanity!"

Watching RiseGreymon and the others, Akihiro Kurata let out a cold laugh. Only he knew how powerful these three Digimon, born from human modification, truly were. He also knew that very soon, Mercurymon, the only one who could pose a threat to them, would be unable to stop them.

"..."

"Lord Mercurymon!"

Just then, a frantic cry for help interrupted Mercurymon as he was about to intervene... It was a Revolvermon.

"What is it?"

Seeing the panicked state of the Revolvermon, a sinking feeling rose in Mercurymon’s heart.

"The village... the village of the Digimon... it’s being attacked by strange Digimon!"

"What?!"

Mercurymon looked around, and sure enough, thick smoke was rising from every direction where Digimon lived, as if they were being slaughtered by something horrific.

"Was this your doing?!"

Mercurymon charged furiously toward Akihiro Kurata, intent on taking him out first. However, the Gizmon, prepared in advance, swarmed forward one after another, forming a thick shield that completely obscured Kurata. By the time Mercurymon had cleared away these pesky, insect-like Gizmon that only knew how to obey orders, Akihiro Kurata had already stepped into a Digi-Gate formed by a Chrono Core bomb.

Only his final words echoed back from behind the closing gate: "If you continue to waste time here, the surrounding Digimon will likely be slaughtered to the last one by the Gizmon. Hahahahaha."

"You despicable coward!!!"

Mercurymon roared at the spot where Kurata had vanished, but he had no choice but to grit his teeth and rush toward the smoke-filled areas. He had to protect the surrounding Digimon villages first.

Qin Fei glanced at the direction where Kurata had disappeared. Seeing that even Mercurymon had failed to catch up, Qin Fei didn't bother trying to intervene. He had underestimated Kurata; he hadn't expected him to bring not only those three Bio-Digimon modified from humans but also such a massive army of Gizmon—none of which existed in the original story. Qin Fei knew that even if he evolved Lolo into Rosemon, she could not eliminate such a vast number in a short time.

Thinking this, Qin Fei sighed. It seemed that in the future, he could no longer rely on his knowledge of the original plot; too much had changed. There were simply too many variables. The only good news was that Mercurymon was still alive.

"Qin Fei, do you need to go help Marcus and the others?"

As Qin Fei pondered, Gatomon watched Marcus’s battle and asked.

"No, let them taste defeat once. We only need to save them at the critical moment."

Qin Fei watched RiseGreymon, Lilamon, and Gaogamon gradually losing ground nearby, his expression analytical. He wanted to see exactly what level of strength these bio-modified Digimon possessed. Furthermore, if Marcus wanted to evolve to the Mega level, this setback was essential. Qin Fei also realized that with his current strength, he was not enough to handle Kurata alone. Therefore, it would be safer to have Marcus and the others reach the Mega level to provide assistance. With three consecutive impacts, RiseGreymon and the others were beaten to the ground, de-evolving back into Agumon, Lalamon, and Gaomon.

Marcus’s expression became dazed; he didn't know what to do.

The arrogant voices of the three Bio-Digimon rang out, further stinging Marcus’s heart. He never expected that even after his Agumon evolved into the Ultimate level, they would still lose—and lose so thoroughly.

"You are accomplices of Kurata, accomplices to the murderer who killed my mother. I will never forgive you!"

"Keenan, I will protect you!"

At that moment, Keenan Crier and Falcomon joined the battlefield. Seeing the DNA energy boiling around Keenan, Qin Fei was a bit surprised. He hadn't expected that the stimulation from Kurata’s words would cause the DNA energy within Keenan to reach the concentration of an Ultimate level.

Suddenly, BioQuetzalmon moved closer to BioThunderbirmon, whispering with a grave expression. After Qin Fei stepped forward, the boys who had previously been defeated all showed expressions of relief. This child, Qin Fei, was definitely not simple.

Looking at the three Bio-Digimon eyeing him like prey, Qin Fei calmly pulled out two Digivices. One belonged to Rosemon, and the other to Gatomon.

Gatomon leaped in front of Qin Fei, looking at him with excitement, even shooting a smug glance at Rosemon. Having watched Lolo steal the spotlight in front of Qin Fei for so long, she had been quite annoyed.

"No, both you and Lolo are going up..."

Qin Fei smiled at Gatomon, feeling the vast amount of gray DNA energy wrapping around his body, and then placed his palm steadily on her Digivice.
