As the cameras rolled, broadcasting the scene to every television, all stations switched to the live feed at this critical moment. This was a battle that would determine humanity’s future. If the elite rescue squad, comprised of the world’s best, could not defeat the monster, what hope could humanity have against such beasts?

“So huge!” The Horned Wing Beast emerged from the depths of the sea, towering at fifty meters—like a ten-story building—its presence overwhelming. Even journalists stationed nearby, though safely in helicopters, were awed and frightened by its fierce aura.

“Can they really win?” Baby watched the enormous monster on the screen, its ferocity almost palpable even through the television, and asked worriedly, snuggling closer to Xiao Xie as if seeking comfort.

“It’ll be fine. Everything is under my control,” Xiao Xie whispered, gently soothing her. Yet deep down, he knew that the so-called Horned Wing Beast was impossible to defeat. The most powerful weapon on Earth, the nuclear bomb, might destroy the monster, but using a high-yield nuke would mean mutual destruction for both humans and the beast. A low-yield nuke, on the other hand, would be ineffective against it.

“Target sighted. Prevent it from entering the city. Red Star missiles, prepare for precision strike.”

“Red Star missiles ready. Launch countdown: ten, nine, eight… three, two, one, launch!” Following the command, a hundred Red Star missiles—enough to obliterate a small island—shot skyward, streaking toward the Horned Wing Beast as it approached the city.

A series of thunderous explosions shook the area, clouds of dust billowing for miles.

“Did we succeed?” Everyone watched the massive plume, anxious with anticipation.

“How is that possible?!” As the dust settled, the Horned Wing Beast emerged, unscathed save for being pushed back a few hundred meters. Not a scratch marred its body. The sight left everyone dumbfounded.

“What’s happening?” Xiao Xie’s face grew grim. By his estimation, the monster’s destructive power equated to a Douzong-level warrior; its defenses shouldn’t be so impenetrable, indicating something he had overlooked.

“Hahaha… Meibada isn’t so easy to deal with! Energy absorption is its specialty!” The alien leader, You Qi, laughed watching the battle unfold. If Meibada lacked special abilities, he wouldn’t boast that fifty of them could reclaim Saimo Star. These monsters could absorb all kinds of energy, and unless an attack exceeded its absorption limit in one blow or severed its head, it would not die.

“Prepare to launch nuclear missiles!” The command center, shaken by the images, gritted their teeth and issued the order. They dreaded resorting to such mutually destructive measures unless absolutely necessary.

“Nuclear missile ready. Countdown: ten, nine, eight… three, two, one, launch!” At the command, a missile carrying a ten-kiloton nuclear warhead launched.

A tremendous explosion followed.

“How is this possible? It absorbed it!” With no dust to obscure their view, everyone saw clearly: as the missile struck the monster’s body and prepared to detonate, a red glow emanated from the beast, and the immense energy was absorbed.

“No, wait—it’s hurt!” The commander exclaimed with delight, noticing a circular wound about a meter in diameter on the beast’s chest. As long as it could be injured, there was hope; if even nuclear weapons couldn’t harm it, all was lost.

The Horned Wing Beast roared in fury. From the horn on its head, a red laser flashed, obliterating a fighter jet into fragments. Another laser followed, destroying a second jet.

“Damn it! Eagle Squadron, spread out, attack freely, keep it occupied—don’t let it enter the city!” The commander barked orders, enraged by the losses. Their initial surprise attack had caught the beast off guard, but now two jets were already lost.

“Understood!” The remaining jets began circling the monster, attacking from all sides to distract it; if it entered the city, casualties would soar.

“Baby, I need to use the restroom,” Xiao Xie said, excusing himself.

“Go ahead,” Baby replied, her eyes glued to the screen, unable to tear herself away from this battle for humanity’s survival.

“Shadow Clone Technique!” Xiao Xie formed hand seals, creating a clone. He produced the Spark Prism; it was time for the Ultraman to handle the monster. Though clones vanished if attacked, once transformed into Diga Ultraman, the clone would take on Ultraman’s physical form, immune to such limitations.

“It’s up to you now.” Xiao Xie handed the Spark Prism to his clone.

“Don’t worry, I know what to do,” the clone assured him, taking the Prism and slipping out the bathroom window.

“Baby, how’s the situation?” Xiao Xie asked as he returned.

“The rescue squad is holding back the monster, but they can’t hold it much longer,” Baby replied, anxiety etched on her face.

“It’ll be fine. Humanity won’t fall so easily,” Xiao Xie comforted her, pulling her close.

Baby pressed her face against Xiao Xie’s chest, worriedly asking, “What if the monster appears in our city? Where are the superheroes—Iron Man, the sorcerers? Are they just going to watch the monster slaughter people?”

Xiao Xie gently stroked her cheek. “Don’t worry, the superheroes will come.”

“Eagle Squadron requesting backup!” Another jet was destroyed. Of the original ten, only five remained.

“Even with more jets, all we can do is slow the beast. We have no choice but to launch a high-yield nuclear missile; if it enters the city, the consequences will be catastrophic,” the commander growled. “Prepare to launch high-yield nuke!”

“Nuclear missile ready. Countdown: ten, nine, eight… three, two—”

“What is that? Abort nuclear launch!” At the critical moment, the commander halted the launch, staring at the radar with a grave expression as an unidentified object approached rapidly.

“Quick, use satellites to get visuals on the object. What is it? Its speed is Mach 10!” The commander ordered. Was this a new monster, or something else?

The satellite feed came in, and everyone at command was stunned.

“That’s—Diga Ultraman!” A pilot exclaimed, watching the giant descend from the sky. Though he never watched Ultraman, his son loved it. But wasn’t Ultraman just a fictional character? How could it appear for real? The pilot’s worldview shattered.

Inside the Love Apartment, everyone watching the live broadcast stared in shock as the giant appeared on the battlefield. The giant, as tall as the monster, bore red, purple, and white markings, with glowing, egg-shaped eyes.

“Yes! Ultraman has finally appeared!” Zhan Bo shouted excitedly.

“No way! Diga Ultraman is actually here!” Guan Gu was beside himself with joy. As a comic artist, seeing an anime hero manifest in real life was beyond imagination.

“Am I crazy, or is the world crazy?” Hu Yifei muttered in disbelief.

Around the globe, viewers erupted in excitement.

“My God! Our true savior has appeared—Diga!”

“With Diga here, the monster’s doomed, hahaha…”

“Diga, avenge my parents, destroy that wretched beast!”

And so, the world watched, hope rekindled.
