"Pfft!" Upon hearing such an impressive excuse, both Yifei Hu and Xiao Xie, who had just taken a sip of their soy milk, sprayed it out at the same time.

Zhan Bo pondered for a moment, then declared triumphantly, "Let’s be honest! You know, when Autobots transform into cars, they can’t fly!"

“These two oddballs really are made for each other,” Xiao Xie thought to himself after hearing Zhan Bo’s answer, which was every bit as offbeat as Wanyu’s. “Truly, birds of a feather flock together. Wait a minute—if I spend too much time with them, will my own IQ suffer?”

“All right, I admit it, I actually lost it,” Wanyu finally confessed she’d lost the Transformer, but Zhan Bo didn’t blame her. Instead, he happily took out an Optimus Prime from his bag—the one he’d bought for fourteen thousand two hundred and fifty yuan—and handed it to Wanyu. But as Wanyu took the Transformer, she sensed something was off, and at that moment, Zeng Xiaoxian burst in, brimming with excitement.

“Wanyu! Yesterday I sold the Transformer online for fourteen thousand two hundred and fifty! That’s your rent for a whole year! Hahaha…” Zeng Xiaoxian gleefully announced to Wanyu, snatching the Transformer from her hands and then—

Xiao Xie and Yifei Hu exchanged glances and shook their heads. “Honestly, he’s hopeless.”

In the end, Wanyu returned the money to Zhan Bo and apologized to him.

“It’s all right. To celebrate Ultraman Tiga’s defeat of the monster, let’s make this a holiday for everyone—you’re all exempt from rent next month!” Xiao Xie said with a smile.

“Hail to the great landlord, Xiao Xie!” Zeng Xiaoxian cheered.

“Thank you, Xiao Xie,” Wanyu said sincerely. She knew Xiao Xie’s gesture was meant to spare her any burden.

“There’s no need for such formality between friends,” Xiao Xie replied with a warm smile.

That evening, Xiao Xie sat cross-legged in his room, infusing his Zanpakuto with spiritual power, when suddenly there came a knock on the door and the urgent voice of Shenqi Guangu.

Opening the door, Xiao Xie saw Guangu, looking anxious and tense. “Guangu, what’s wrong? What happened?” he asked, puzzled.

Guangu replied quickly, “It’s like this—Ziqiao and Meijia suddenly fainted. They’re lying on the sofa outside! Xiao Xie, come take a look!”

“All right!” Xiao Xie followed Guangu to the living room, where he immediately spotted Ziqiao and Meijia unconscious on the bed.

He walked over to Lü Ziqiao and Chen Meijia, then glanced back at a girl in the living room whose cheeks were still flushed.

“That’s Xiaoxue,” Guangu explained awkwardly, having noticed Xiao Xie’s confusion.

“Xiaoxue?” Xiao Xie saw the candles and red wine on the table, as well as an empty bottle that had once held Indian incense, and instantly understood what had happened.

“It was a rush of blood to the head, combined with a bit of a shock—that’s why they fainted,” Xiao Xie said after checking on Ziqiao and Meijia, then turned to give Guangu and Xiaoxue a strange look.

Shaking his head, Xiao Xie ignored the embarrassed pair, focused his energy, and revived Ziqiao and Meijia.

Within seconds, Lü Ziqiao and Chen Meijia regained consciousness.

“Ugh…” They both shook their dizzy heads and, seeing Xiao Xie watching them playfully from the sofa, along with Guangu and Xiaoxue behind him, began to recall the events leading up to their fainting spell.

As the moments ticked by and their memories returned, both Lü Ziqiao and Chen Meijia shot furious glares at Guangu and Xiaoxue.

The situation was now a fait accompli; aside from glaring, there was nothing else they could do to vent their frustration. Embarrassed under their stares, Guangu and Xiaoxue lowered their heads. After a while, Xiaoxue realized it was best to leave, so she and Guangu exchanged phone numbers, and she departed without looking back.

“Guangu, what did you do to wrong Ziqiao and Meijia? Why are they looking at you like that?” Xiao Xie asked, barely concealing his schadenfreude.

Guangu rolled his eyes at Xiao Xie’s mischief and said nothing.

“Xiao Xie, you have no idea! Guangu, he… he actually…” Chen Meijia was so angry she could barely speak. After all, it was she who had set up the whole trap, yet in the end, Guangu and Xiaoxue reaped the benefits.

“Let me tell it—Guangu, that scoundrel, actually—” Lü Ziqiao began a tirade, heartbroken and furious, berating Guangu’s shamelessness for getting involved with the girl he’d brought home. Didn’t he know the rule about not coveting a friend’s partner? And it didn’t even happen in the bedroom, but right there in the kitchen! No wonder he and Chen Meijia fainted when they stumbled upon the scene.

When Lü Ziqiao finished, Chen Meijia added crossly, “If it wasn’t for you claiming that incense was liquor, Guangu wouldn’t have been so careless with Xiaoxue.”

“You think you’re blameless?” Lü Ziqiao retorted. “Why did you leave a bottle of something as potent as Viagra lying around? No wonder Guangu couldn’t hold back. What were you planning to do with it?”

With the two of them squabbling again for no reason, Xiao Xie pressed a weary hand to his forehead, while Guangu took the opportunity to watch them bicker from the sofa.

“Enough! When everyone’s back, we’ll hold a tribunal in 3602 and judge Guangu’s errors together!” Xiao Xie cut in.

“Agreed!” Lü Ziqiao and Chen Meijia exchanged glances and nodded at Xiao Xie’s suggestion. They couldn’t let Guangu, the real culprit, off so easily.

Ignoring Guangu’s resentful gaze, Xiao Xie returned to his room without a backward glance. “Look at you, scoring with a girl for free and still acting wronged—trying to have your cake and eat it too?”

As night fell and the others returned, everyone gathered in the living room of 3602 after dinner, sitting on the couch—while the guilty party, Guangu, took a small stool opposite them.

Once everyone was assembled, Lü Ziqiao, his voice filled with anguish, began to list Guangu’s many misdeeds.

“You have no idea! Guangu, he—he’s not even human! He actually…” Lü Ziqiao glared at Guangu before launching into his accusation. He’d always been the one stealing others’ girls; when had the tables ever turned—and to Guangu, of all people?

Zhan Bo, seeing how worked up Lü Ziqiao was, tried to soothe him. “Ziqiao, take it slowly, no need to rush!”

“Guangu, he actually stole the girl I brought home! And right there in the kitchen!” Lü Ziqiao cried in despair.

“Guangu, you… in the kitchen, of all places…” Lin Wanyu’s look of disdain slowly turned into one of disgust.

Yifei Hu shook her head in amazement. “That’s just too much!”

“Guangu, you… you beast!” Zeng Xiaoxian raised an eyebrow at Guangu, though his tone sounded more envious than contemptuous.

Zhan Bo, however, looked confused. “What’s wrong with being in the kitchen?”

“Huh?!” Everyone turned to stare at him.

Yifei Hu, knowing her brother all too well, realized he still hadn’t cottoned on to what everyone was talking about. She shot Xiao Xie a look, signaling him to explain it to Zhan Bo.

Catching her signal, Xiao Xie leaned over and whispered an explanation into Zhan Bo’s ear.

“Guangu, I can’t believe you’d do such a thing!” Zhan Bo exclaimed, pointing at Guangu.

Guangu looked around at everyone, utterly innocent. How was he to know the incense bottle wasn’t liquor?

“Let me explain! The truth is… we just kissed, nothing more happened!” Guangu hurried to clarify as everyone’s expressions grew stranger by the second.

After hearing his explanation, Yifei Hu and the others finally understood what had really happened—it had all started with Meijia’s trap.

“No way, we can’t let this slide. Guangu, regardless, you stole my girl and you have to make it up to me with ten braised pork elbows,” Lü Ziqiao declared, seizing the chance before everyone forgave Guangu and he missed out on any compensation.
