“Watch your mouth. If you dare curse again, I’ll kill you.”

Lin Yang had no intention of indulging Liang Jian. Anyone who dared insult a grandmaster was simply asking to die.

The slap came suddenly and swiftly, taking everyone by surprise.

Not only was Liang Jian stunned by the unexpected blow, but everyone else wore expressions of shock as well. No one could believe that someone had dared slap the vice president of the Magnificent Chamber of Commerce at an occasion like this.

“Lin Yang, have you lost your mind?” Yu Ping shouted. She hurriedly turned to Liang Jian and asked with concern, “Vice President Liang, are you all right?”

Liu Chengzhi also scowled and barked, “You really must be tired of living. If you insist on courting death, no one can save you. As for your dead parents, don’t blame me. You brought this upon yourself.”

“Don’t you dare mention my parents again. You’re not worthy.”

Lin Yang no longer bothered showing Liu Chengzhi any respect.

“Security! Where’s security?”

One of the guests shouted for the guards. No one had expected such a reckless man to appear at the victory banquet and strike Liang Jian, the guest of honor, the moment he arrived.

Most of those present were members of the Magnificent Chamber of Commerce, while the rest were prominent figures from Luocheng. They were all members of the city’s elite.

Everyone found this sudden turn of events utterly unbelievable.

Lin Yang even spotted the Black Widow, Cheng Wanqing, among the crowd. Although she was not a member of the Magnificent Chamber of Commerce, she had been invited as well.

At present, Cheng Wanqing was the only person there who knew Lin Yang’s true identity.

However, she had no intention of exposing him. She was perfectly happy to sit back and watch the drama unfold.

Several security guards rushed in and surrounded Lin Yang.

But Liang Jian knew that these guards were no match for Lin Yang, so he did not order them to attack immediately.

Covering his face, Liang Jian’s eyes seemed ready to spit fire.

He had been slapped in full view of everyone. There was no way he could swallow this humiliation; otherwise, how would he ever survive in Luocheng again?

“Fine! You, Lin—if you walk out of here alive today, I swear to God I’ll stop using the surname Liang!”

Liang Jian pulled out his phone and called Ren Huaxiong, leader of the Haitian Gang, for help.

Among the guests, a female executive standing beside Cheng Wanqing asked, “President Cheng, do you know this man? He’s incredibly bold.”

“I do,” Cheng Wanqing replied.

“Oh? Who is he?”

“I’m not sure. But I do know that Liang Jian is finished. Tonight’s victory banquet may well turn into a funeral banquet.”

The executive was startled. Her face filled with disbelief. “Are you saying he’s going to kill Liang Jian? Liang Jian is the vice president of the Magnificent Chamber of Commerce, practically a member of the Murong family. In all of Luocheng, there are hardly any people who would dare touch him.”

“Others may not dare, but he certainly will.”

Cheng Wanqing thought to herself that being vice president of the Magnificent Chamber of Commerce meant nothing. Even his father, a fifth-rank grandmaster, had been beaten by Lin Yang and had only escaped death by paying out a fortune in precious medicinal herbs.

Even with the Murong family backing him, Liang Jian was still helpless.

The Murong family would never completely offend a supreme grandmaster for his sake.

“You don’t believe me?”

“Of course not. Besides, I heard Liang Jian has some connection with Ren Huaxiong, leader of the Haitian Gang. Leader Ren is supposedly coming in person tonight. The one who’s going to die should be that young man, shouldn’t it?” the executive said.

“Then how about we make a wager?” Cheng Wanqing suggested.

“Sure! What are we betting on?” Wei Xiaodie asked.

“Let’s bet on the plot of land you just acquired. If I win, you’ll transfer it to me at the original price.”

“President Cheng, that’s an awfully large wager. I went to considerable trouble to acquire that land. Once the government’s planning document is released, it will be worth at least two billion.”

Wei Xiaodie hesitated.

“Are you afraid? That doesn’t sound like you. If I lose, I’ll also transfer the neighboring Lot Two to you at the original price. How does that sound?”

Cheng Wanqing smiled.

Wei Xiaodie closed her eyes and pondered for a moment, then glanced at Lin Yang.

“I have a feeling there’s a catch, but I, Wei Xiaodie, have never been one to believe in bad omens. I accept the wager.”

“Then it’s settled. You’d better call your secretary now and have her prepare the transfer contract.”

“Don’t celebrate too soon. Just wait and see,” Wei Xiaodie replied.

After Liang Jian finished his call, Lin Yang said, “Looks like you have no intention of keeping your promise.”

“Keep my promise? I’ll keep your—”

Liang Jian had been about to curse, but his face was still burning with pain. He forced the vulgar words back down.

“Fine. We’ll settle that debt later. Let me ask you this: Was it you who helped the Liu family’s Sincerity Group obtain the cooperation project with Prosperity Group?”

“Of course it was! If not me, then who? You?”

Liang Jian sneered.

Lin Yang smiled faintly. “You certainly know how to talk tough.”

“Lin Yang, are you sick? Don’t even think about driving a wedge between our families!” Yu Ping shouted.

“Don’t rush. Didn’t you want the truth? I’m in a good mood today, so I’ll give you the truth.”

With that, Lin Yang took out his phone and called Murong Yun.

“Have you arrived?” Murong Yun asked over the phone.

“I’m on the second floor of the hotel, attending Liang Jian’s victory banquet. Come down for a moment,” Lin Yang said.

Murong Yun sounded somewhat puzzled, but she did not ask any further questions. “All right. I’ll be down immediately.”

After hanging up, Murong Yun’s expression turned cold.

“Liang Jian, you’d better not provoke Lin Yang. Otherwise, I absolutely will not spare you.”

The previous vice president, Wang Jiaqian, had been removed from office precisely because he offended Lin Yang. He had already sold off all his assets and left Luocheng.

If this newly appointed vice president offended Lin Yang as well, Murong Yun worried that Lin Yang would begin to doubt her competence.

“Calling for reinforcements? Let me tell you, Leader Ren will be here any moment. Today, not even the Jade Emperor himself could save you.”

Liang Jian’s face was filled with fury as he ground his teeth.

“You called that woman who keeps you, didn’t you? You want her to come and back you up?” Liu Fuyu said.

The guests began whispering among themselves again.

“So he’s a kept man. I wonder which woman is supporting him and giving him the nerve to challenge Liang Jian.”

“Whoever she is, she won’t be able to save him tonight.”

Wei Xiaodie asked Cheng Wanqing, “Do you know who’s keeping him?”

“He’s being supported by a woman? I don’t believe it.” Cheng Wanqing was equally astonished.

In all of Luocheng, what woman could possibly afford to keep a supreme grandmaster as her boy toy?

“Keep me? There isn’t a woman in Luocheng capable of keeping me. I was simply too lazy to explain myself before. You were just too stupid, foolish enough to actually believe I was being supported by someone.”

Lin Yang looked at Liu Fuyu as though she were an idiot. He felt extremely fortunate that he had never married such a stupid woman and brought her home.

“You’re the stupid one! I saw it with my own eyes, so how could it be fake? Isn’t the villa you’re living in that woman’s? With your means, could you afford a villa in the Imperial Garden?”

Liu Fuyu had been repeatedly looked down upon by Lin Yang, and she was furious. In front of everyone, she continued exposing his disgraceful secrets.

Today, she was determined to crush Lin Yang beneath her feet and finally vent all her pent-up humiliation.
