Chapter 34: Bringing Humiliation Upon Oneself
“Who are you looking at?”
Murong Yun turned her head and also noticed Liu Fuyu and Liang Kuan.
“So, it’s her. It must feel awful to see your fiancée with another man, doesn’t it?”
“Not at all. Come on, let’s keep drinking.”
Lin Yang withdrew his gaze, uninterested in acknowledging Liu Fuyu.
At that moment, Liu Fuyu also spotted Lin Yang.
“What rotten luck, running into him here,” she said with a look of disgust.
“Who is it?” her companion asked.
“Lin Yang,” Liu Fuyu replied.
Liang Kuan turned to look, his eyes flashing with hatred.
Back then, he had been beaten up by Lin Yang, a humiliation he had never forgotten.
“I heard his parents died, he went completely downhill—gambling, drugs, a total ruin. Why is he here?”
After returning to the country, Liang Kuan had specifically asked around about Liu Fuyu and Lin Yang.
“He latched onto a wealthy woman and became her kept man. Now, he’s not even worthy to shine your shoes,” Liu Fuyu sneered.
“Really? That’s quite unexpected.”
Liang Kuan was secretly delighted. The once arrogant heir of the Lin family, who used to trample on him, had ended up as an old and ugly woman’s plaything, while he himself had become part of the upper class in Luocheng. It was immensely satisfying.
“Come on, let’s go say hello to our old classmate.”
Naturally, Liang Kuan wouldn’t miss such a chance to show off, especially with Liu Fuyu by his side, allowing him to flaunt in front of Lin Yang for even greater satisfaction.
Liu Fuyu understood exactly what Liang Kuan was thinking and followed him over.
“Old classmate, it’s been years! I didn’t expect to run into you here.”
“And you are?” Lin Yang replied coolly.
“Liang Kuan! Back in high school, you beat me up because I pursued Liu Fuyu. Don’t you remember? I remember it perfectly well.”
Liang Kuan deliberately brought up the incident when he was beaten.
“Oh.”
Lin Yang’s indifferent attitude irritated Liang Kuan.
“I heard your parents died, your family fell, and you became a stray dog. But now, you’re decked out in brands, looking sharp, able to get into a place like this. You seem to be doing well.”
Liang Kuan’s words were laced with sarcasm.
“Whether I’m doing well or not, what’s it got to do with you?” Lin Yang took a sip of his drink.
“Lin Yang, what’s with that attitude? Do you even know who Liang Kuan is now?” Liu Fuyu interjected.
“And who is he?”
“Liang Kuan is the young director of Jiansheng Group, worth billions. Look at yourself now—just a kept man scraping by.”
Liu Fuyu spoke with disdain.
“So what if I’m a kept man? How does that affect you?” Lin Yang chuckled.
“Coward! You’re a disgrace,” Liu Fuyu spat.
Liang Kuan continued, “It can’t be easy, being a boy toy for a rich woman. Can you even handle it?”
“I hear those women who keep men are old, ugly, and have plenty of weird fetishes. They don’t even treat you like a person—I almost feel sorry for you.”
Lin Yang didn’t get angry. Instead, he turned to Murong Yun, who had been gazing out the window. “He just called you old and ugly. Aren’t you offended?”
Murong Yun turned, her eyes cold as she looked at Liang Kuan and Liu Fuyu.
Only then did Liang Kuan see her face clearly, and his eyes widened involuntarily. “Damn!”
“She’s the rich woman keeping Lin Yang?”
“That’s her,” Liu Fuyu said with a pout. “She’s pretty, but who knows if it’s all plastic? And honestly, anyone who’d go for a loser like Lin Yang probably doesn’t have great taste.”
Liang Kuan didn’t see it that way at all. The woman before him was stunning, refined—she was the stuff of legends.
He wailed inwardly, “If all rich women looked like this, I’d be more than willing to be kept myself!”
If it wasn’t for Liu Fuyu standing beside him, Liang Kuan would have blurted out, “Goddess, keep me instead! I’d gladly be your boy toy—I’m quite skilled in bed!”
Liang Kuan’s feelings toward Lin Yang were mixed with not only hatred, but also burning jealousy.
“I told you yesterday, you’re nothing more than a clown. Didn’t you learn your lesson?” Murong Yun said coldly.
“You’re the clown! What’s so great about you? Let me tell you, my family, the Lius, has just become a new partner of Ding Sheng Group. Soon we’ll be among the top families in Luocheng. Who are you to look down on me?”
Liu Fuyu couldn’t help but boast about currying favor with the Murong family—it was her pride.
Murong Yun smirked, finding Liu Fuyu’s stupidity laughable.
“Are you finished? If so, kindly get lost.”
Even Lin Yang felt embarrassed for Liu Fuyu.
“Who wants to talk to you anyway? Lin Yang, remember this—give up on ever joining Zhicheng Group. Even if my father pities you and wants to help, my mother and I will never agree!”
“We’re not from the same world anymore. You’d better know your place and stop shamelessly showing up at our house.”
Liu Fuyu looked at him with contempt.
“Sigh…”
Lin Yang was at a loss for words and could only sigh. If not for Liu Chengzhi’s sake, he would have loved to use reality to slap Liu Fuyu’s face today.
“Let’s go.”
Having finished her performance, Liu Fuyu felt triumphant since neither Lin Yang nor Murong Yun replied, as if she had achieved a great victory, her head held high.
Liu Fuyu just wanted to show off, but Liang Kuan was far from finished.
He didn’t leave. Instead, he said to Lin Yang, “Lin Yang, I haven’t forgotten how you beat me back then. You owe me an apology.”
“Oh? And how would you like me to apologize?” Lin Yang played with his glass.
Liang Kuan snapped his fingers and called for a waiter to bring a bottle of whiskey, placing it before Lin Yang.
“I won’t make it hard for you. Just down this bottle in one go, then kneel before me, address me as Young Master Liang, say you’re sorry, and crawl under my legs. Then I’ll forgive you.”
He turned to Liu Fuyu, “What do you think?”
Though Liu Fuyu felt Liang Kuan was going a bit far, she didn’t dare offend him, and since it was Lin Yang being humiliated, she didn’t care.
“I think it’s fair. After all, he gave you a bloody beating back then. It’s only right he apologizes. You’re being generous.”
Liang Kuan laughed proudly. “Hear that, Lin Yang? I’m not one to hold a grudge, but today you must apologize.”
“You remember how I bloodied you back then?”
“I’ll never forget! I’ve waited a long time for this day. Now, you’re nothing but an ant before me, and I intend to thoroughly humiliate you!”
Liang Kuan’s gaze was icy.
“If you don’t get lost, I don’t mind making you bleed again.”
Lin Yang’s tone was calm.
“Are you tired of living, or are you deaf? Don’t you know who I am now? That woman can’t protect you!”
Liang Kuan retorted.
Lin Yang said nothing more. With a flick of his right hand, he splashed his wine straight into Liang Kuan’s arrogant face.
