Chapter 94: Are you a fake Rank Eight master?
When it came to sharp-tongued, vitriolic verbal sparring, the honest and upright Shen Limin was no match for Yu Ping and Liu Fuyu. He was instantly reduced to silence, left stunned and unable to offer a rebuttal to their insults.
"Have you said enough?"
At this moment, Lin Yang emerged from the house, his expression cold and stern. He held no fondness for Yu Ping and Liu Fuyu, but out of consideration for Liu Chengzhi, he had been unwilling to bicker with them, choosing to spare them some dignity. However, their cruel humiliation of Shen Limin had finally provoked him.
"This is my home. It is not for uninvited guests to come here and point fingers. Furthermore, you have no right to utter insults toward anyone in my house," Lin Yang said coldly.
"Your home? Don't play the fool! It may have been yours once, but does it have anything to do with you now? Do you really think that by playing the gigolo and moving in here, you’ve become the master of this place?" Liu Fuyu sneered mockingly.
"Shameless," Yu Ping added.
Lin Yang let out a disdainful cold snort. "I am giving you one minute to disappear from my sight. Get out immediately, or don't blame me for being discourteous."
"Lin Yang, who the hell do you think you're scaring? Don't think that just because you've learned a few amateur moves you can throw your weight around. We know exactly what you are, so stop putting on an act."
The moment Liang Kuan saw Lin Yang, his anger flared, his eyes burning with resentment. With an eighth-grade martial arts expert backing him up outside, he felt brimming with confidence.
"Half a minute left." Lin Yang could not be bothered to waste his breath on Liang Kuan.
"Fine! Very well! You dare threaten me! I’m here today to settle the score. You think I’d forget the time you threw me out of that bar?"
"Do you think that just because you beat a fifth-grade expert, I can't do anything to you? Today, I’m going to trample your head under my feet, make you beg for mercy, and force you to regret ever crossing me." Liang Kuan boasted arrogantly, declaring his vow of vengeance.
"Brother Kuan, stop wasting time with him! This guy won't shed tears until he sees his own coffin. He’s incredibly stubborn—just have Mr. Deng take care of him," Liu Fuyu urged.
"Once Mr. Deng beats him half to death, I want to see if he can still keep that mouth of his so stiff!" Yu Ping was also deeply dissatisfied with Lin Yang and was eager to watch Deng Jinkui grind him into the dirt in humiliation.
"One minute is up."
Lin Yang stepped down from the porch. The three of them instinctively retreated two paces; when it came to actual combat, they were naturally terrified of him.
"Mr. Deng, please, take action!" Liang Kuan shouted, shielding Yu Ping and Liu Fuyu behind him.
Outside the villa garden, Deng Jinkui, who had been sitting in the car, finally stepped out. He leaped over the wall in a single bound, landing in the garden with a thunderous thud that caused the paving stones beneath his feet to shatter.
Seeing the imposing figure of Deng Jinkui standing in front of him, Liang Kuan felt his fear vanish. He straightened his back and shouted, "Lin Yang, look clearly! This is Mr. Deng Jinkui, a renowned eighth-grade expert in Luocheng. If you’re smart, you’ll surrender immediately and kneel to beg for mercy, so as to save Mr. Deng the trouble of acting!"
"Of course, even if you kneel and kowtow, I won't let you off easily." Liang Kuan laughed triumphantly.
However, standing behind Deng Jinkui, he failed to notice the expression on the man's face. Deng Jinkui had crossed paths with Lin Yang before and knew full well that Lin Yang’s strength far exceeded his own; he was no match for him in a fair fight. Moreover, the famous divine physician Qi Yixin—a man to whom even the four Grandmasters showed respect—held Lin Yang in such awe that he had forced his own son, Qi Tianming, to kneel and apologize to him.
Deng Jinkui had long since realized that Lin Yang was a figure not to be trifled with, and he had even inquired about him afterward. He was one of the few who understood Lin Yang’s true identity. When he jumped inside and saw that the person facing him was Lin Yang, his expression turned complex; he wished he could find a hole to crawl into or simply turn around and flee in a panic.
"Mr. Deng, we meet again," Lin Yang said calmly.
Deng Jinkui swallowed hard. "Yes... yes, indeed."
"Last time we crossed paths, it seems we didn't determine a winner. Since we are so fated, let us decide the victor and settle the matter of life and death today." As Lin Yang spoke, a glint of cold light flashed in his eyes, making every hair on Deng Jinkui’s body stand on end. A chill surged from his feet straight to his skull.
To decide the victor and settle life or death—the implication was clear: he was meant to die here. How could Deng Jinkui not be terrified?
"Mr. Lin, you are too kind. I concede defeat. I am not your match at all; there is no need to determine a winner!" Cold sweat dripping down his back, Deng Jinkui quickly clasped his hands, bowed low, and admitted defeat.
Deng Jinkui’s sudden change in attitude left Liang Kuan stunned, his jaw dropping in disbelief. Yu Ping and Liu Fuyu were equally shocked, unable to believe what they had just heard.
"You admit defeat before even fighting? Since you’ve stepped into my home, we really must decide who is superior on the field, otherwise, people might be unconvinced." Lin Yang had indeed harbored a flicker of murderous intent toward Deng Jinkui.
Sensing the killing intent in Lin Yang’s words, Deng Jinkui’s mind raced. He immediately dropped to one knee, performing the highest gesture of concession among martial artists, casting aside all dignity.
"Mr. Lin, your strength is supreme. I, Deng Jinkui, am thoroughly convinced and admit that I am no match for you."
"Trespassing into your residence today was entirely due to my blindness. I did not know this was your home, or I would never have had the audacity to come here. I hope you, as a man of great stature, will be magnanimous and forgive me, and accept my most sincere apology."
Deng Jinkui’s words were powerful and sincere. The booming voice jolted the stunned Liang Kuan, Yu Ping, and Liu Fuyu back to reality.
Deng Jinkui had surrendered and knelt before even throwing a punch? Was this really an eighth-grade expert? He must be a fake! Liang Kuan roared inwardly.
"Mr. Deng, what are you doing? You are a dignified eighth-grade expert—why are you kneeling to him and begging for mercy? You must be an imposter!" This was the only possibility Liang Kuan could think of.
"He must be a fake! There is no such coward among eighth-grade experts. You fraud!" Liu Fuyu shrieked as well, refusing to believe what was happening.
Yu Ping, however, remained silent. She had met Deng Jinkui before, and her mind was in chaos; she was so overwhelmed that she had temporarily lost the ability to think.
"In front of Mr. Lin, an eighth-grade expert is nothing! Mr. Lin could crush me with a single finger!" Deng Jinkui was furious that Liang Kuan and Liu Fuyu dared to call him a fraud. Had Lin Yang not been watching, he would have jumped up to teach them a lesson himself.
"Bullshit! I know Lin Yang’s background perfectly well. If you were really Deng Jinkui, why would you fear him? If you are the real Deng Jinkui, take him down now, and I’ll double the reward I promised you!" Liang Kuan bellowed.
