Upon hearing that Jiang Yuan had a dream, Nezha immediately showed a look of intense curiosity, his face brimming with excitement as he asked, “Old Jiang, you have dreams too? Tell me, what did you dream about?”

“What do you mean, I have dreams too?” Jiang Yuan replied, somewhat puzzled.

“My mom told me that if someone can’t get something in real life, they get it in their dreams. But I just can’t figure out what it is that you can’t get, Old Jiang.” Nezha scratched the back of his head in confusion.

“There’s plenty I can’t get,” Jiang Yuan sighed.

For example, the very things he had just dreamt about—if nothing unexpected happened—he would never have in his lifetime.

“Well, why don’t you tell me? Maybe I can dream about it too when I go back.” Nezha asked eagerly.

If Jiang Yuan couldn’t get it, it must be something good, and if Nezha could dream of it, that would be a great gain.

Jiang Yuan chuckled. “Everyone wants different things. The things I like, you might not like at all.”

“Then tell me, what do you usually dream about?”

After some thought, Nezha said, “Me? I dream of lots and lots of food, and sometimes I dream that I’m the only person left in this world—I can go wherever I want to play.”

“I also dreamt…” he began, but then suddenly stopped, looking a bit guilty at Jiang Yuan.

“Why did you stop?” Jiang Yuan smiled; he probably had already guessed what Nezha was going to say.

“You can’t hit me if I tell you,” Nezha warned.

“Why would I hit you? Just say it—I’m not going to argue over your dreams.” Jiang Yuan said with a helpless smile.

Nezha seemed to muster his courage and said seriously, “I also dreamt that you gave me a Lamborghini, and I drove it around every day.”

Jiang Yuan smiled wryly. He knew it—this kid couldn’t dream of anything else besides that.

“See? Everyone wants different things. I have no interest in any of the things you dream about,” he said.

This made Nezha’s eyes light up with hope as he looked at Jiang Yuan eagerly. “So, would you be willing to give me a Lamborghini right now?”

Jiang Yuan looked at Nezha for a moment and then said, “You should keep dreaming then.”

Nezha’s face fell.

“I said I’ll give it to you when you grow up,” Jiang Yuan said, patting Nezha’s head with a smile.

This kid really wasn’t much different from the wild children he taught in his previous life.

“But it takes so long to grow up!” Nezha frowned.

“If you can’t wait that long, then it just means you don’t really like the Lamborghini that much, got it?” Jiang Yuan said with a smile.

Nezha nodded, not quite understanding.

Suddenly, Jiang Yuan felt a chill.

Looking up, he saw that it had started to snow.

With this, it had been almost a year since he came to this world of deities.

Life is truly unpredictable. He had originally been a lazy man awaiting death, but now he was someone who wanted to wrestle with the Sage Emperor himself.

Jiang Yuan felt a bit emotional.

Watching the snowflakes drifting down from the sky, he felt a touch of loneliness. It was somewhat cold and desolate in this otherworld.

It was already the twelfth lunar month, and soon the New Year would come. Yes, this world had the concept of New Year as well.

Jiang Yuan looked at Nezha without reason and asked, “You brat, don’t you want to go home and celebrate the New Year with your parents?”

Nezha pouted. “I don’t want to go back and get scolded. There’s all kinds of food in the palace, why should I go back?”

“You little brat really doesn’t know how lucky you are,” Jiang Yuan scolded with a laugh.

In his previous life, he didn’t know how many people had to toil and rush all year just to be home for the New Year.

For some people, reunion during the New Year seemed like a luxury.

“I’m pretty content. The palace has everything, and I have Yin Jiao to fight with me. That’s way more fun than being with my parents,” Nezha boasted proudly.

Jiang Yuan looked at Nezha indulgently and said with a smile, “Since you don’t want to go back, then stay here in Chaoge and celebrate the New Year with me. It’ll be livelier.”

“No problem,” Nezha agreed enthusiastically.

Chen Tang Pass.

At this moment, Chen Tang Pass was covered in a frost-white layer, as if the earth was draped in a silver robe, announcing the arrival of winter.

Adding new clothes for the season.

Yin Shiniang looked somewhat melancholic, gazing into the distance—seemingly toward Chaoge—and asked her husband Li Jing, “I wonder how Nezha is doing with the Great King.”

Li Jing understood his wife’s worries. Putting his arm around her shoulder, he comforted her, “You don’t need to worry so much. I’m sure you can see that the Great King likes Nezha very much.”

“After all, Nezha won’t suffer any serious harm while he’s with the Great King. Even if he gets punished, it’s for his own good.”

Hearing this, Yin Shiniang’s face showed a little less worry, though she still frowned deeply, likely missing her child far away in Chaoge.

“I wonder if the Great King will let Nezha come home for the New Year. The New Year is coming soon; it would be good for the family to be together,” she muttered.

“Don’t you know your son’s temperament? He’d probably rather suffer over there than come home. This isn’t about whether the Great King wants to let Nezha come back,” Li Jing said carefully.

“It’s about whether the kid himself wants to come back,” he added.

“You two—father and son—when will you ever stop bickering?” Yin Shiniang scolded.

“The general has no interest in arguing with a child,” Li Jing snorted coldly.

Yin Shiniang shook her head helplessly and said to her husband, “The snow is getting heavier. I’ll go get you a robe.”

She then turned and went back inside.

Li Jing didn’t stop her. After all, he was a powerful immortal of the Golden Immortal realm—he didn’t really need such things.

But since it was his wife’s kind intention, he couldn’t refuse.

He just wondered why she didn’t ask him to come inside.

Yin Shiniang knew that her husband was also looking toward Chaoge but was too stubborn to say so. Naturally, she wouldn’t take that away from him.

Those two really were a pair of adversaries.

Yin Shiniang thought to herself.

Li Jing cared deeply about Nezha, though he wasn’t worried that Nezha would suffer in Chaoge.

But he couldn’t say there was no danger there.

A while ago, he received a letter from Xi Qi. Though the letter was vague, Li Jing, being the shrewd man he was, immediately realized that the Western Earl Ji Chang was plotting rebellion! The letter was an attempt to win him over.

For Ji Chang to act so brazenly, it meant he was confident.

With his son in Chaoge, how could Li Jing not be worried?

Perhaps that was why the Great King took Nezha away?

Thinking of this, Li Jing felt a bit melancholy. He took out the pack of Hua Zi cigarettes that the Great King had given him.

Lighting one, he found it to be an excellent way to ease his mind.

It could keep the mind clear and even enhance spiritual awareness! Only the Great King could have such a divine item.

After finishing one cigarette, Li Jing’s gaze became resolute.

Before Yin Shiniang came back out, he entered his study. He was going to write a letter to the Great King, reporting the rebellion in Xi Qi!

He wanted to make his position clear! He wanted to stand with the Great Shang!
