Chapter 125: Breaking the Formation
Jiang Yuan’s face darkened; he hadn't expected the Celestial Clan to have already refined Mount Peach. If that were the case, he certainly couldn't leave the mountain to them.
"Just tell me how to break this formation," Jiang Yuan demanded of the system. Since he would have to spend Tyrant Points anyway, he preferred to get it over with quickly.
"Ninety-nine Tyrant Points," the system replied bluntly.
Jiang Yuan was speechless. Was the system not even going to pretend anymore? Was it blatantly extorting him? "You damn system, just tell me how to break this formation!" he cursed. Did it think it could get something for nothing?
"Find the formation eye. The eye is the core of any formation; destroy it, and the formation will naturally lose its effect," the system explained.
"And what if I find the eye myself?" Jiang Yuan countered.
"If the host can find it on his own, then there is no need to spend Tyrant Points," the system replied.
"Then why did you tell me it would cost 99 points?" Jiang Yuan was deeply dissatisfied.
"The prerequisite for breaking the formation is the ability to locate the eye. The system deems that the host does not possess this capability."
"That’s complete nonsense!" Jiang Yuan would not stand for such an insult from the wretched system.
"Goodbye." The system went offline, showing no interest in arguing further.
In truth, Jiang Yuan felt a bit insecure; he had only retorted to save face. He hadn't expected the system to be so uncompromising. *Fine, I’ll find it myself,* he thought. *I don’t believe I can't do it.*
An incense stick’s time later, Jiang Yuan gave up. He realized he didn't understand formations at all; how could he possibly find the eye?
"System brother?" Jiang Yuan asked, putting on a fawning smile.
"What does the host want?" the system’s voice was cold.
"Don't be like that, brother. Just tell me where the eye is, won't you?" Jiang Yuan wheedled. He hadn't realized the system was so proud and held a grudge so easily.
"138 Tyrant Points." The system didn't hesitate; it would never miss an opportunity to profit.
"You damn system, are you price-gouging me now?"
Jiang Yuan was instantly enraged. It was just a formation eye; did it really have to fleece him for so many points?
"Then the host may continue searching," the system said, preparing to ignore him again. Since an agreement couldn't be reached, there was nothing left to discuss.
Jiang Yuan couldn't accept that. He wasn't the only one trapped; anyone staying in this formation for too long would reach their limit. Gao Lanying, as a Great Golden Immortal, might hold out a little longer, but if they didn't find the eye soon, she would eventually collapse. Furthermore, Yang Jian and Nezha were still inside. Yang Jian had been trapped for quite some time; he couldn't last much longer. These puppets were truly repulsive.
"138 it is, then. You damn system, just tell me where the eye is. Let’s trade," Jiang Yuan conceded.
"Ding! Transaction successful. 138 Tyrant Points deducted. Current balance: 3,812!"
"The red markers in your vision are the eyes of this formation," the system said before going offline. As for how to destroy them, the system didn't need to teach him that. The simplest method was, of course, to smash them.
When Jiang Yuan looked around again, he realized there were quite a few red spots in his vision! There wasn't just one eye? He suddenly felt that the cost hadn't been so high after all—he had searched for so long and hadn't found a single one, yet now he could see dozens.
The Heavenly Emperor was truly insidious, setting up such elaborate traps just to imprison his own daughter. Could there be some unspeakable secret here? Jiang Yuan couldn't worry about that for now; he had to destroy the eyes first.
The Xuanyuan Sword appeared in his hand. He stopped bothering with the puppets—he could never kill them all anyway. As he slashed away, more and more eyes were destroyed, and the number of puppets attacking him began to dwindle.
Once every red eye in his vision was shattered, the environment around him shifted. A figure appeared not far off, struggling against the puppets. Jiang Yuan focused and saw it was Yang Jian, his third eye open, fighting desperately. He was already covered in blood.
If Jiang Yuan hadn't arrived, Yang Jian likely wouldn't have lasted much longer. Jiang Yuan didn't bother with pleasantries; he charged forward, sword in hand, ignoring the puppets to focus solely on the formation eyes.
Yang Jian was curious as to how the King could find the eyes so accurately and quickly. Even with his Celestial Eye, he struggled to pinpoint them, especially since they shifted position. He had been here for ages and only found four or five. Yet, there were dozens! Still, he didn't give up—his mother was inside, and he would never abandon her. *The King is worthy of the name,* he thought. *To find them so quickly.*
"Did you enter alone, Your Majesty?" Yang Jian asked curiously.
"Zhang Kui and his wife, along with Nezha, all entered. I was separated from them. It seems this formation contains multiple spaces; I just broke out of a sub-formation," Jiang Yuan explained.
"Then let's hurry and save them! These puppets are relentless. Without my Celestial Eye, it will be even harder for them to find the eyes," Yang Jian urged.
Jiang Yuan nodded slightly. It seemed Yang Jian knew what was important; he hadn't asked him to save his mother first, despite his obvious anxiety.
As Jiang Yuan destroyed the final eye in this area, the environment changed again, and the puppets vanished. Not far away, Zhang Kui and his wife were fending off their own attackers with ease.
Seeing Jiang Yuan, Zhang Kui exclaimed, "Your Majesty! How did you break the formation?"
"Just find the eyes," Jiang Yuan replied with a faint smile.
"How did you find them? My wife and I have been at it for so long and only found one. We thought there was only one!" Zhang Kui said, frustrated. He didn't doubt the King, though Gao Lanying looked on with some skepticism.
*Don't compare yourselves to me; I'm a cheater,* Jiang Yuan thought.
"Once we clear this small section, we should be able to regroup with Nezha, and then we will rescue Yang Jian’s mother," Jiang Yuan said. "I am a bit weary. I will point out the locations of the eyes, and you two can destroy them."
Since he had capable subordinates, there was no need for him to do all the heavy lifting. Soon, the eyes in the sub-formation where Zhang Kui and his wife were trapped were destroyed, leaving Gao Lanying completely convinced—the King was truly a god-like man.
